After a failed bleaching experiment I found Teresa who did my color correction. It took about 3 hours, but the end I was amazing platinum blonde and my hair was in great shape. She is really wonderful with precision haircuts and takes the time needed to refine and shape. I always leave her feeling like a million bucks but without actually spending that much. Teresa has been working at BLO salon, but after the New Year will be moving to HBR Studio and I plan on following her! (As long as there is still wine, heehee)

I’m not the best Unilocaler. I’m not a writer, and when I do write I’m not funny. The rest of y’all deserve props for your fabulous reviews, while mine will be more basic. But the service I recommend is NOT basic! It is essential, ego-​boosting and unparalleled! My favorite stylist, Teresa, has moved to HBR Studio from Blo Salons (you should check out her reviews from Blo). You can book easiest with her by calling 415−412−1854. Whatever Teresa does to my hair seems like it was MEANT to happen: I have thick, wavy, unruly hair with about 1,000 little cowlicks all over the place. My natural color is a natural, earthy, dull blond that longs for warming up. Teresa makes me feel like a supermodel, and her cuts are the only styles I’ve ever been able to replicate (ok, maybe only to 65% of the way to how she would do it herself) when I go to dry my hair the day after she cuts it. I used to have little fits and tantrums trying to style my hair (ask my husband, who would run from the house). But now I am always so happy and confident that I will feel like myself, only better. I cannot recommend her enough, and I look forward to telling all my colleagues that she will now be just a few blocks from the office!

I cannot wait for my girl from Blo Teresa to move to this new location, now I can see her and take BART from OakTown, so much easier than trying to park in Hayes Valley at 6pm!!! She is the best ever and can handle all comers no matter your style or current tragic cut, she can fix it in no time. I would trust her with cut and color any time of the day or night. See you soon!

Love Suad! I have really thick hair, hard to get just right. It ends up looking like a frizzball if not cut well. Suad works her magic and it looks magnificent! She takes her time and really makes sure that the haircut is picture-​perfect!

Selida, my stylist from HBR, moved to Alcheme Salon about a year ago, and I followed. The vibe at Alcheme is much different, as it’s mostly chics, versus gay men (not that there’s anything wrong with that!). It’s also extremely light-​filled and spacious.

Robin is masterful at color (and of course highlights) — not too much, not too little. If you want it to look natural he can do it – if you want to step out and make a big statement no problem. His versatility is what you look for in a professional. He takes pride in his work and making sure that when you leave, you not only look great, you feel great. How many people in the service industry even think about this anymore? And he’s really good at cutting even the most difficult hair!

Robin was amazing. He was able to turn my hair from jet black, back to blond while still keeping it as healthy as possible. He had great advice and took care in making sure I knew exactly how to baby my hair until it’s natural shine came back. I didn’t think it could be done but he did it!

Robin is the angel hairstylist from heaven! I have had my hair done by two other hairstylists here in SF, and the only times i have EVER gotten compliments is after robin did my hair. He is by far the best hairstylist i’ve ever had in my life. I trust him 100%, and i always love what he does.
He is lively, talented, and he really knows his work well. If it were possible, i would give him 10 stars, not just 5.

Selida Cazares is the intuitive hair stylist supreme! I was trying to tell her how I wanted my hair thinned (I have really thick Asian hair) and she totally picked up on what I wanted, not really layered, texturized and razor cut. I have been walking different eversince I left the salon (head turned to reflect on my reflection, slight swing to my step).

I almost cried when another stylist in the City cut my hair into a mullet style. Even though she insisted it did not look like a mullet, it had chunky super short layers all around while the rest of my hair (not much of it) was long and thinned out. Whatever you call it, it looked like S#!$ I Couldn’t even put my hair into a pony tail without using 10 bobby pins to secure those short layers. Total nightmare. Not that there is anything wrong with a mullet, but there are better styles out there for me. Robin was able to fix this. Somehow he did his magic with the shears and made those super short layers not as noticeable. He is totally worth every penny and my hair is growing out beautifully.

My guy is Phillip — fantastic!!! I have wavy hair (currently growing out my chemically straightened hair), and Phillip gave me a manageable cut that is perfect for my minimal morning routine. He is also a total sweetheart!!! :-)

I followed Selida Cazares from Hair Play to HBR. After nearly 4 years, I can’t imagine ever «breaking up» with her because she is the only stylist that has not messed up my hair or gotten lazy with it. My cuts and highlights always look great and grow out beautifully. Highly recommended.
Update: Selida has moved on to another salon. I can’t opine on the quality of the other stylists, so take my five stars with a big grain of salt.

Ladies with curly hair listen up!
Pepe is an amazing hair stylist that gave me the best cut I have ever had. I happen to have very curly hair but l tend to wear it straight b/​c I never really liked (past tense) the way it looked naturally. He happened to give me a versatile cut! Unilocal,i mean yep. I can wear it curly now, and it looks fierce, fun, and fabulous. And when i wear it straight, it’s easy to dry because he took out a ton of the volume and it’s got that modern sheeky-​sheek look. It’s a very sweet cut.
I highly recommend Pepe! Yeah– Vote for Pepe!
