Henri Hubert

This review is for my experience when I visited the store front in Westfield. The lady working there, Ree (sp?), was very helpful when there was a size I wanted that wasn’t available. The selection is small, but nice. I appreciate that the designer is local so I wish his business success!

Henri is my new best friend! Apparently he’s a local designer that offers items to suit any family or friend in your life. Or even you! Whether you need a gift, a new outfit or just something fun, this place has what you’re looking for.
Prices are incredibly reasonable and once in a while they have a really great sale where you can get designer dresses for $ 15! Or t-​shirts for $ 5. Right now they are having one of those sales and I got some really great things! Lots of great gifts for my family and I didn’t break the bank doing it. I felt like this store was open just for me. I went in and they had only MY size in everything. It was fabulous. And for once, everything fit beautifully.
One of the things that really appealed to my husband was that they have a lot of great shaving tools. If you are interested in growing your bread, or cutting your beard, don;t go to The Shaving Place, come here.
Staff was incredibly nice and friendly. Very out going. This one guy convinced me to buy this dress that he said was his favorite. He was so happy that I bought it because he said it was his favorite but that no one had gotten it.
I love this store and plan on going here every time I need a quick and easy gift for someone.

I really like this store! I live close by and I am excited to see that they offer just the right selection of stylish men’s clothing and other skin care products. While there, I bought a blazer which fits perfectly. I generally have trouble finding things in bigger stores that have the right cut and fit.
The store clerk did mention they will be moving to the Uptown neighborhood pretty soon, will be sad to see them leave the spot, but I will visit their new location downtown when it opens.

Anytime and I mean ANY-​time I need to upgrade my wardrope, I drive down to 530 Grand Ave. This is an Oakland based company who never fails to disappoint with cool styles and accessories. Unlike Big Box stores you will rarely find another person rocking the same gear as you. They will also do some custom items and alterations.
Go there today and tell them I sent you!

The customer service could’ve been better.
A friend had given me soap as a present a few months ago and I had forgotten the name because I had thrown away the container.
Soap was just soap for me back then. I didn’t know there was such a difference in feeling and quality since I was raised on generic soaps bought at super markets.
I liked it because there was this certain brittleness to the orange soap, a light lavender fragrance, and it made my skin feel dry, smooth, and refreshed. Mmmhhmm, pure heaven.
When I walked into the store, the clerk was friendly enough, but seriously lacked knowledge about her soap products.: |
I asked a question regarding the differences between the clay and honey soap sold at Henri Hubert and the soaps sold at generic super markets.
«It moisturizes and cleanses,» was the answer I received. Buzz words that commercials advertising bath products use all the time and a sign that she didn’t know what she was talking about.
When I had prodded more in depth about how it would make my skin feel the clerk merely stated, «I don’t know» and «Just buy it and see if you like it.»
Is this how successful a business make sales these days? :
This was not convincing enough for me to just flagrantly spend nine dollar on a bar of soap when there are other boutiques up on lake shore selling similar products and with much more knowledgeable staff.
I sincerely hope they improve their knowledge of their products. Maybe then I’ll bump up the rating.

Have you been here? If not, go here and buy something so they are sure to stay in business. My boyfriend loves everything in the store and I need them to stay open so I have a ready source of gifts for him.
Great clothes (I wish I were one of the mannequins), really cool accessories, and all kinds of soaps and incense and shaving things that are really neat. It is pricey, but I’ve never felt as though something weren’t worth what it cost. The quality is really high.
The woman who works there is great too. No high-​pressure sales. She is very helpful and knowledgeable about what they sell but doesn’t push at all. I tend to see something but not purchase until I’ve seen it a few times, sometimes over a period of weeks, and that doesn’t phase her at all. Even after the first few times I visited and didn’t buy anything, she always treated me like a valued customer and, so, I have now become one.

Awesome store, wonderful owner. I’ve purchased several items for my husband here and going into this store, «upgrades» the Grand St shopping experience for sure… My only complaint is there isn’t a women’s equivalent to this store! ;)

My BF and I walked by here this weekend and peeked in while we waited for our laundry to finish. From what I can tell this is a really awesome boutique. I’m surely going to stop by here a few more times to pick up nice gifts for the males in my family.

Awesome men’s apparel and denim shop. Oakland needs many more of these, as well as shoe specific vendors so we’ve no need to spend our change in SF.
Looks like this boutique themed shop will deliver what the previous occupant had intended…
Look for my buck, cuz I’m about to spend it!
