I love Hester. She is amazing! All her studio is full of fine art, all paint by herself.

Works out of her home, which should have been my first hint of working with an amateur. Inexperienced and took on a project she could not handle. I paid several hundred dollars for an incomplete work. She ended up charging me 3x the rate she quoted me. She failed to consult and communicate with me on crucial decisions that I should have made, which resulted in her making numerous mistakes and charging me for the time it took her to fix her own mistakes. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE at communication, and impossible to get a hold of. Who doesn’t own a mobile phone in 2015???
Missed deadlines because she was «busy with their projects» even though she knew the importance my deadlines and initially agreed to them, still she determined that my project (that I was being over charged for) had to take a backseat? Totally unethical.
Complete waste of my time and money. I had to start all over with a women who actually knew what she was doing, and laughed at the work Hester did which we just threw away. I would have been better off flushing cash down the toilet and saving my time.
She complained about her problems, and made me feel bad for her. Later she admitted to me that she was stressed about being forced to re-​make customs for carnival dancers that were completely unsatisfied and made her start over (other unsatisfied clients).
She mis-​cutting fabric and added seams where we did not discuss, creating more problems for herself to fix which she charged me for her time. Maybe she can patch up jeans and make curtains but DO NOT hire her to make high-​quality clothes. She will say it’s easy and cite a low estimate – then end up over-​charging, missing all deadlines and doing a terrible job, for which she will take no responsibility.
DO NOT WASTE TIME WITH HESTER! SHE IS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! Go to your local fabric store and look through their book of seamstress’ pattern makers, etc. Guaranteed you’ll find a professional who is better than this fake.

Hester is a designer who can interpret both your clothing and upholstery designs.
I am very happy with the cashmere coat and later on the cushions she made for mr.

Hester is an amazing designer and seamstress! She made couch covers for two long couches and it looked like they were new! they still retain that look! She also made a lace cami for me and still has my pattern for others.

Hester worked on some leather designs for me. She did a very good job. Very capable & professional.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a service provider. She ended up charging me twice what she had estimated, missed every single deadline, made numerous mistakes and charged me for the extra time it took to fix them. She wasted a great deal of my time complaining about her problems – including the fact that she was fired for incompetency and irresponsibility from her last job. At first I felt sorry for her but now it’s obvious why a quality-​oriented company would fire her. The suit she made for me – and charged a fortune for – looks awful and will have to be taken to a better tailor to make it even wearable (if it is even salvageable; it may be just money thrown away). The sleeves are elephant sized and the lining sags out of them at the cuffs. The pants have a weird «bubble» sewn into the fabric at the pocket. Some other mistakes she made include putting darts in the wrong places (so that the left was an inch higher than the right), mis-​cutting fabric so that later more fabric had to be awkwardly patched in, and cutting stretch fabric on the wrong bias. There were many other errors, besides – too many to describe here. Hester is probably competent to patch up jeans and make curtains or furniture covers. But don’t hire her to make high-​quality clothes. She will say it’s easy and cite a low estimate – then end up over-​charging, missing all deadlines and doing a terrible job, for which she will take no responsibility.

Hester is a creative & detailed seamstress! Her work is diverse & collaborative. She is very very well respected. I use her services every time my clothes need help :-)
