The SF Hung Sing Lion Dance Team(SFHSLDT) handed off the torch to the Hung Sing Lion Dance & Kung Fu Troupe to continue the cultural, ethnic and traditional sport of lion dance and kung fu. Co-ordinated by high school student Dan Prom under the guidance of well known Kung Fu Expert: Grandmaster Dino. The team has performed for elementary schools during the Chinese New Year season, in parades such as the Taiwanese Independence Day, and participated in various community lead functions like fund raising for the Self Help for the Elderly and for the Chinese Freemasons. As a fellow lion dancer, I’ve worked with this group for various occasions while also making some new friends in the process. Under coach Dan Prom, the Hung Sing Lion Dance tradition continues its fun filled tradition of cultural lion dancing. Pros: Old School mixed with Contemporary lion dancing Punctual and on time professional performances Age range is middle school to high school level. Cons: They deal in CASHONLY for performances.
