There are lots of Art Galleries in San Francisco, but few can compare with Images of the North, not only because of the unique art that is found there but also because of the great personal attention and customer service that one receives from the owner, Lesley. I have only a few pieces from her gallery and by no means its most expensive ones but no matter, I always get a smile and get to see something interesting or learn something new when I step in to see what’s new. Union Street is changing with the times which is good but it’s great to see some businesses that offer something special, unique and fall outside of the typical clothing, spa or restaurant category. Whether you’re in the market for something simple, something collectible or something to hang or to gift, you’ll find something for all budgets and for all tastes!

The gallery is a few steps down from the sidewalk, super clean and cute. The owner, Leslie, is extremely friendly and nice. She greeted us but let us browse in peace. The gallery is full of beautiful prints and sculptures by Inuit artists. It got a little cluttered in the back but that just means there’s more to look at! I really liked the owner’s disposition and felt at ease looking/poking around. If you’re not familiar with Inuit art, or even if you are, pop in and see something new!

My dad loves this store — he is truly obsessed! He cannot walk on Union Street without coming in to admire the new art. I expect he’s one of the best customers also. The art is Inuit art from Canada — lots of beautiful pieces of carved stone(often of animals such as walruses, bears, etc). The woman who is usually here(the owner?) is also very friendly and always allows our dogs to come into the store with us. Worth checking out!
