After 12 years, this location has been closed. I was craving for my favorite downtown Chinese resturant and was sadden to see that this location has been closed. No more cheap and good eats in this area. Their other location on Bryant is just as good.

Actually, I love this place. After trying a number of Chinese restaurants in the area and their version of Mongolian beef, this one is my favorite. Plus, their Mongolian beef over rice is fairly inexpensive.(Cheaper than ordering through that app thing) As others have mentioned, the service is not that great and they seem a little rude at times but honestly, I’m loving the Mongolian beef and I take my food to go so I don’t care about the service. Good price, great food. I do like to call my order ahead. I’m on the phone for maybe 30 seconds and that is if it takes them 20 seconds to answer the phone. Get over the service and there is some delicious food for you to enjoy!

These ladies loves me! Occasionally I would sit down and chat with them while I wait for my food. Today they gave me complementary soup! Great restaurant. Don’t take things personal they may come off as rude sometimes but that’s because they’re busy ladies! They work hard! Love this place. Their signature fried rice never disappoints me.

Good food but not great on the communication. They seem to always be I. A rush when you want to order.

The food was average and I didn’t like my dish. It was plain and cold. I told the waitress I didn’t like the food(which I never do unless I’m serious) and she told me id still have to pay for the meal. I was surprised that me paying for the meal was her first reaction, not«what’s wrong with the meal?» That was a turn off to say the least. I would not come back, not because of the service. But because I wasn’t happy with the food. However the place was packed and there appeared to be a lot of regulars.

(accidentally put this review at the Jade Café on byrant street… my bad) This place is dirty and so cheap, but the food is awesome! I order broccoli & beef, hong kong style fried noodles, and my boyfriend got fried rice and some duck with veggies dish. I’ve never heard a fool slurp their duck bones so loud! He loved his dish, and noodles were great! Nice and sizzling, crunchy, but softened where the sauce was pours. B&B is easy to fuck up and they nailed it. I am addicted to this place.

Customer service does not exist! The wait staff are extremely rude, they do not care about the quality of service they provide to their customers. The food is OK. Would I recommend Jade Café… Ummmm NO! Unless you’re hungry and dying.

Came here for a takeout lunch. Parking here is pretty horrendous. The inside is quite plain, and obviously you’re not here for the ambience. The one head scratcher though was how they count fried rice as «1 item». My 2 sides + rice was charged as 3 items. Had to ding a star there. Who does that? The food itself is of the food court variety — satisfies, but nothing special. Sweet and sour pork — tastes like most other places. Spring roll — a bit too greasy and soggy for my liking. Mind you I didn’t eat my food for 15 minutes or so. Fried rice — again, decent, but nothing special. The portions were a bit on the small side, for $ 7.

The food is delicious here. The egg rolls have a hint of cinnamon, and they are quite tasty. My only gripe is that there are really no lunch or dinner specials. Each item must be ordered individually causing an outrageous bill. Other than that, if you are only ordering an item or 2, the cost is decent.

Been here a couple of times and it’s close to work. The prices are very reasonable and if you’re really hungry, you can go for the«AYCE» lunch for only $ 7.25. However, your selections come from whatever they have that day at the steam table. I’ve ordered the rice plates for lunch, since you get a good amount of food for the price. The food’s OK and I have found the ladies who work during lunch friendly. I know there are other options in the area, but I’ll continue to go back.

C’mon 5 star reviewers, you know better than this. Jade Café, in my opinion, is a cheaper-priced and slightly lower-quality Panda Express equivalent.(I’m a fan of Panda Express, so put that into context) I ordered the BBQ Pork with Tofu over rice, so I even put my expectations fairly low for a very simple Chinese dish. BBQ Pork wasn’t the freshest(pretty dark in the middle) and the ratio of tofu to BBQ pork was less than impressive. Did I expect more? Not really. But my opinion of the place still rings true: I’ve experienced better. Now, with that said, why do I dine here twice a year? To save a couple of bucks and its close to work — NOT to experience fine Chinese cuisine.

Ordered from this place off Grubhub a few times. Here are my experiences: — cheap, lower minimum order prices than most other Chinese chains — one time they were 20 min late arriving — I had asked for a small amendment to my order(no egg in the fried rice) but they put it in anyway — stomach felt awful after(and I have am not particularly sensitive to foods); not 100% sure why but I can only guess their stuff is chock full of MSG If you’re ordering Chinese takeout, you’re already scrimping as is; the extra $ 2 to upgrade from Jade to a more respectable chain is a small and worthwhile price to pay.

Typical chinese food at typical chinese prices. lol. they do have a lunch buffet for 8 bucks i think? Except they always run outta of stuff, which is very annoying. I mean, come on, if u see one of the dishes running low and its only 12PM, get a clue. Tell the kitchen to make some more. Not tell your customers to wait 20 minutes. ridiculous. The ladies here are … rude. lol. I’m used to the rude chinese service, but this place is worse than most lol. The food here is ok, plenty of grease and MSG. The wait can take a while. took almost 15 minutes to just get some wonton noodle soup… Portions are huge. oh yeah, and i think its a $ 10 dollar minimum to use card. I’ll swing by if i’m too lazy to hike my butt to chinatown =P

I am surprised that this Chinese restaurant that looks quite grimy on the outside, is pretty good! Located in front of a bus stop, the prices for their food selections and proportions is well worth it. I ordered their Kung Pao chicken with rice and they surely overloaded my plate with a lot of rice — fit for 3 people! I love spicy so there wasn’t enough pow to my chicken! Remedy is to add hot sauce! It was great. Their spicy soft tofu was yummy as well! The tofu was indeed soft and the sauce that they use with it, was delicious! It was a plus that they added chopped mushrooms — I love mushrooms so it complimented the whole meal! Do order up their seafood mixed in scrambled eggs over rice when you are out and about after bar hopping in this area! It is bomb diggity! Service was attentive and the lady named Jennifer helped out a lot with getting our orders in and making sure our teapot was filled. They make their sauce for each dish well and it takes good sauce to compliment everything about a Chinese dish! It was about 10 bucks for each plate. Not bad at all!

Good Chinese food is not hard to find in San Francisco That said, this restaurant serves some of the best wonton soup, dumplings and fried rice that I have ever had, anywhere. The food was fresh, flavourful, piping hot, perfectly cooked. Simple, familiar dishes made really well. Yes, the service wasa little rude, at first. This is an important detail, the service person was quite nice and warm once we got past the initial quirky moments and gave her a chance. We forgave. We had a fantastic meal for a very low price a couple blocks away from our hotel. I plan to go back.

They have the best chinese green tea in town. Let me tell you with $ 7.25 you get«All you can eat and all you can drink» WOW! Food is fresh and the orange chicken is simply fabulous. The place is very clean and most of all it’s not so busy like other chinese places I’ve been to. I got unlimited soups and unlimited green tea too! Customer service is excellent for a place that has a one dollar’s sign. Will definitely come back here.

I am not a fan Chinese food at all. I know, weird, especially since I grew up in the SGV in L.A.; personally, I think the food is subpar and can be better. Love to my SGV Asian friends… xoxo One day I was visiting SacTown and found out my SGV friend, Josie, was visiting SF; so naturally I visited her. She raved about this Chinese restaurant and how they served the most magnificent yummyliscious chow fun. I was skeptical, but then again, it’s Josie and she has good taste and knows about my weirdness toward food. She took me to this«whole in wall» and ordered chow fun. I tasted and was elated and found myself in a state fo nirvana. Yes, nirvana! I have never tasted such yummyliscious Chinese food in my life! I never thought it was possible and yet it was! I have yet to go back and have me some Jade Café! I heart you Jade Café!!! Thanks pal for the recommendation! ;) I think it’s time I hop on a plane to SF and eat some chow fun!

Okay… well, where to start? Let’s start with the rude service. A bunch of us came over to get take out and I admit, we didn’t really understand how things worked but being barked at isn’t the greatest way to start. So yeah, after being yelled at, partially ignored, and then having them look visibly annoyed at us because we’re trying tell them that we’re ordering together… well, you get where I’m going with this. Anyhow, we finally get our orders all in and now we’re there waiting for our orders. Almost all of the orders come out quickly except for the pork chops. For some reason the pork chops took half an hour. So if you’re going to get the pork chops, please save yourself some time and order ahead. I had the General Tso’s chicken which was kind of tasty(though cold by the time we got back). Won’t knock them for the coldness but I can say that the sauce was tasty. Problem though? Broccoli was partially steamed, but didn’t taste like it was part of the dish(it was more of an afterthought than anything) and there is no variation of rice(steamed white or fried rice). Overall, NOT a good experience, and the food wasn’t that great. This place is clearly not big on service, which would be excusable if the food spoke for itself, but it doesn’t.

Cheap n quick food but most importantly, GOOD food. I would come here all time time for lunch since I used to work right around the corner. This place is ghetto looking on the outside and it screams hole in the wall but it’s one of the BEST chinese joints in the city esp. since it’s in the Union Square area. I would always come here for one thing and one thing alone. The beef.wonton.soup. I’ve never tasted anything so delicious in my life. The broth is so flavorful plus the beef and wontons are so tender! I’ve tried other things like the pepper garlic shrimp, the chow mein, etc. Everything is good but seriously try the beef wonton. you won’t be disappointed!
