Jeffrey Doney

Jeffrey worked with us over a period of 14 months during the remodel of our 3-​bedroom 2-​bath home in San Francisco. The project covered every room except one, — a bathroom that had been recently remodeled. As we wrap up construction, we look back and realize what a difference Jeffrey made. His collaboration style and design ideas greatly contribute to the enjoyment of our «new» old home.
He has solid experience and connections with San Francisco’s byzantine planning and building permits office; he shepherded our permits successfully all the way through to approval. His professional network proved invaluable: his structural engineer partner was a joy to work with, and contributed to plans that included removal of load bearing walls, raising the roof, and increasing the square footage of the home. When the backlog in the building permits office delayed our demo date, Jeffrey connected us up with an expediter who saved us weeks on the permitting process.

I had debated and debated on my kitchen in my 1910 Castro home, and each time it came down to wanting to have it all. I hired on designer whose sketch looked like a cartoon, but this was no joke. A friend recommended Jeffrey, and he listened to my ideas — and then made them better. I now have a super kitchen, adding a small bump-​out, opening some of the wall between studs to create extra shelving, a cork floor — a large marble kitchen island, the works! Jeffrey brought me contractors for the custom cabinets, the painting, the final woodwork, all the pieces coming together. I would use Jeffrey for any work in my house, and give him my highest recommendation to anyone who won’t be satisfied until they have it all! I do now have it all! (and he kept in the budget, I might add!).

Jeffrey designed a terraced garden in my backyard which included over 200 plants in a quarter acre space. He did an amazing job, was very professional and easy to work with. Jeffrey has tremendous vision but was open to my preferences and choices of plants. He not only designed the garden but was onsite when the plants were installed to be sure they were placed properly. The garden is flourishing as a result of his expertise and talent. Something is in bloom every season of the year bringing beautiful color and flowers to enjoy. I recommend Jeffrey for your home and garden design needs.

Jeffrey designed my home addition of a family room, bedroom and laundry room. His design recommendation included taking advantage of the natural light with a pair of French doors and transom windows. Please do not use him as an architect. He is the most unprofessional architect I have worked with. I ended up paying a lot of money and wasted my time with him. I found out that when I worked with another architect (licensed), I ended up spending less money in terms of time and energy and costs.
Do not use him at all. I am doing you a big favor. ;-(
