Dr. Yee and Rose are wonderful people, and going to the dentist has never been more enjoyable. I cannot speak on specialty procedures and surgeries (see other reviews for these), but I am 100% satisfied with the checkups, cleanings, and preventative care that they’ve provided me with every six months for the past several years. I’m happy to report no cavities and drastically improved gum health.
Getting an appointment is a piece of cake. Rose calls me when it’s time, and they are very flexible in terms of days and times. They are even open on Saturdays. The office location is comfortable, clean, and convenient – right on the Muni 1 bus line. Street parking is usually available (though sometimes challenging) in the Inner Richmond/​Lake Street District area.
Both Miss Rose (who wears many hats as the dental assistant, hygienist, and receptionist) and the Good Doctor John Yee (D.D.S., University of California) are friendly and make you feel like you are a friend visiting their home. The attitudes are always positive, even when explaining issues (e.g. tartar buildup) and encouraging better dental habits (i.e. more flossing). They’ve never been pushy with sales of cosmetic services, but many options are available to suit your needs.
The two-​person team really works hard, and they do a heck of a job getting my teeth cleaned. The technology they use is quick and painless, and gets even the toughest stains (red wine, coffee, tea, etc.) off my teeth.
They are in the Blue Shield Dental PPO network, and I have only had positive experiences with the plan and my dentist.
If don’t have a dentist or if you are looking to upgrade from your current provider, Dr. Yee is my honest and strong recommendation. If they are accepting new patients, you will not be disappointed. Call Rose for an appointment today.

Great place he does a good job and doesn’t up sell you on things you don’t need. Bummed my last insurance wasn’t excepted and I thought it was.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DENTIST (Dr. Yee) AND DENTAL ASSISTANT (Rose). I have been terrified for years to see the dentist but know I needed major work done after a back filling fell out in 2011. Many of my coworkers have been to Dr. Yee and thought he was great so I decided to give him a call. A major plus for me is they see patients on Saturdays. They communicate well what needs to be done and how much insurance will cover so you can make choices. He is a master of injecting Novocaine. I asked for a double dose because the worst pain to me is feeling the work get done. He was accommodating and the injections themselves weren’t that bad (sometimes they hurt more then the work). I would definitely recommend seeing Dr. Yee and Rose.

I have been getting my teeth cleaned by Dr. Yee since I was in elementary school and he is the best dentist I’ve found. My parents and sister gets their teeth cleaned by him as well. Rose does an excellent job with calling patients to remind them of their appointments. Dr. Yee has been my dentist for 20 years now and he is an excellent dentist. I’ve gone to his office to get my teeth cleaned and wisdom teeth removed in 2008. I make an appointment to go get my teeth cleaned every 6 months since I have health insurance that covers dental treatments as well.
Overall, I have not had any problems getting my cleaned or wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Yee. I’d highly recommend my family, friends and classmates to him.
Oh yeah, the reception room is great since it is filled with books, magazine, cups for water or tea and there is an LCD Plasma TV. One more thing, there is free Wi-​Fi* so you can surf the web on your mobile device while waiting. Like most dental clinics around, Dr. Yee’s office in a building with several other dental clinics.
*My mobile device was able to detect the signal when I sat in the waiting room.*
Parking:
Like most areas in San Francisco, parking is a headache in this neighborhood.
I wouldn’t recommend driving unless you have spare coins or a $ 20/​$ 50 parking meter debit card.
I highly recommend taking MUNI since routes 1 California & 44 O’Shaughnessy both run on California St.

I’ve been Dr. Yee’s patient for over 20 years! He’s got the magic touch when it comes to Novocaine injections. Everything the other Unilocalers wrote, I can say is true. Let’s hear it for Dr. Yee and Rose!

Dr Yee is awesome. I am phobic of the dentist and so it’s hard for me to find one I’m comfortable with. I have been his patient for several years. He is a great dentist and very gentle. Rose is wonderful too. They re both kind & caring people. I’ve recommended many friends to him.

Greatest dentist I ever used. I started seeing Dr Yee as a kid then when I got older I switched to a different doctor that was closer. I switched a few more times but never found a dentist that took really good care of my teeth like Dr Yee. Finally switched my dental plan and went back to him. Have no complains with his service. Also Rose is great at calling to setup the bi-​annual cleaning.

No complaints from me about Dr. Yee. The dentist I had gone to previously was terrible with the teeth cleaning. I mean, seriously, can you really throughly clean my teeth in 5 minutes? It was a waste of time just to trek all the way downtown for that 5 minutes. Dr. Yee takes the time to do a good cleaning. Of course, he’s always telling me how bad my flossing (or brushing) is and gets Rose to show me the «proper» way to do things. I’m going to try and actually go twice a year like I’m supposed to. I have a dental insurance now!
