John Mark Salon

I have been a client of Mark’s for many years and he is simply the best. I have gotten both trims and perms from him and appreciate his talent, skills and instincts for making my hair look attractive, natural and easy to maintain. When he does perms, he knows how to organize the rollers so they mesh easily with the natural flow of the hair and I have always been delighted with the results.
Mark is a consummate professional who is sensitive to what the client wants, making suggestions but always accommodating the client’s vision. He keeps the atmosphere light, relaxed and friendly so that when you walk in, whatever stress you’re going through melts away. It’s a welcoming respite from a busy day. If you’re in a hurry, he does his best to trim, color or perm your hair efficiently but also maintaining a certain level of standard so that you look good.

Mark is wonderful. He is excellent at color and cut. You can have an amazing mani/​pedi from Annie while Mark does your hair. If you like you can also have a treatment (facial, eyelash, eyebrow, wax) with Ilona at SkinFantastic right next door. Very relaxing and personal service. For an SF Hair Salon Mark has kept his prices reasonable!

GUYS: Mark is perfect. Really, I’ve been testing and searching for years, and years and years. Barber lounge, Cinta, most of the small barber shops downtown and the Marina, ZipZap, blade runner… none of them hold a candle to this guys skill, and his price.
He knew exactly what to do, listened to what I was saying, and also what I wasn’t and helped me figure out what to do with a problematic head.
Also… his Wax-​z product is the bomb. Why pay $ 30 for Bumble and Bumble sumo wax, when you can get the SAME PRODUCT from here for $ 11. Really, it’s the deal of the century, and he is such a nice guy to boot.
It’s a total pleasure to be able to sit with a guy that I actually look forward to talking to, but can also be quiet if I’m not in the mood. He just gets it.
Try it guys. Really.

If you are having a wedding or important event, Faina is an awesome make up guru. She has done my make up for three weddings now (two as a bridesmaid and one as a bride). She is on time every time and makes me look incredibly gorgeous.
Very importantly for me, Faina knows how to match the occasion while still leaving me looking almost natural — it’s a mystery how she does it, but I love it. I have never received so many complements on my looks as when Faina has performed her magic on me.

I have been going to Mark for years and by far his is the best hairdresser I have ever had.

FAINA FAINA FAINA! Can’t say enough about this woman. She did my wedding make-​up, Unbelievable and Perfect! I went in yesterday to chop off my seriously too long hair. She is very knowledgeable and at the same time young and creative. She gave me an exceptional do. Modern, gorgeous, sophisticated, and works for me weird calick-​y, wavy hair. She is well worth the $$ and really fun to be around. But, you better book her in advance ladies she has a busy schedule, full of happy customers.
