My son loves it there! Teacher Donna and teacher Laura and basically all the teacher but in bias to the lily room teacher because they take such good care of my son like actually show him love! They are the best! My son talks about them all the time they have helped him grow so much in a short amount of time! Great place very helpful they really work with the parents and I love that! Everyone there is really sweet and makes me feel safe leaving my son there!

«There are many preschool choices in and around the South of Market area. However, the Judith Baker Child Development Center is a special place. Not only do children learn academics, how to follow rules, and manners, they also start to discover what their curious minds and strong bodies are capable of. Everything from the art projects, to the various thematic lessons are terrific. My son starts K on Monday after 2 years at Judith Baker CDC. We love this preschool and are so happy with the nurturing education our son has received. Judith Baker CDC is Reggio Emilia based learning which is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment based on the interests of the children through a self-​guided curriculum.
As an example of the projects my son’s classroom worked on in the past two years, skeletons (animal and human how they are different/​similar), teeth in marine animals (examining skulls brought in by one of the parents, eyes how are they different? the same? The teachers in his room received a First 5 San Francisco award in Teaching Excellence in 2015

The ratio in each of the 3 classrooms is 3:16
The parent community is very strong and very involved.
My biggest fear for my son entering K is that he will be bored with traditional education after his two wonderful years at this neighborhood gem. On a personal level I am going to miss the wonderful teachers, parents, supporting staff and the other children.

I enrolled my son in their preschool program at 790 Folsom Street when he was 9 months old. He is now approaching to 3, but he is still on waiting list, and his waiting list # has been moving backward. I called the school last week three times, and finally the site supervisor responed, but nothing she can help. I’m very disppointed about their system, and very unfair. :(

My son and daughter went here & we LOVED it. I don’t think it deserves a 1 star rating for the waitlist. It’s SF & in high demand. (the long wait list must mean something!)
The teachers are caring, the environment is safe, clean, the outdoor space is great. We loved attending this child care/​preschool. I felt like although they aren’t pushy with academics, my children were WELL prepared to start Kindergarten thanks in part to this place. I also thought the other families were great and made friends! It’s a diverse environment and the kids are definitely a priority for all!
