What a shame this cute place closed. It was a cosy little local coffee shop on Noe right by the hospital. Had good food, baked goods and coffee. Always a place to sit down and relax for a bit.

So sorry to see this place close. I was in my early 20’s living around the corner when it first opened. It was a breath of relaxed fresh air compared to the back then pretentious café up the street on noe and market. Chill atmosphere, pre-Internet, place to people watch, cruise, work, read and listen to the employees good music. A couple people who later went on to become well known musicians worked there at one point. I ended up meeting one of my best friends through a room mate listing I placed on the bulletin board there. Nothing ever lasts forever

It looks like this wonderful coffee shop has closed. While passing by today I noticed that the place was empty, including the tables. This place will be missed.

This is a great local neighborhood spot to get work done. Free wifi and plenty of outlets for hours of working need. It’s usually pretty quick and relaxing environment. Food is pretty good. My go to coffee shop to work in.

This place is located really quiet neighborhood near CPMC building by the Castro district. It never gets crowed unlike those Mission and Castro coffee places also the people who work here are super friendly. They have free wifi internet access it dose npt require id and password their cup of coffee cost only $ 1.70 when the sunny day it gets lots of sun. I usually come here when it’s sunny. I definitely recommend to visit this café. I also encourage people to support local businesses.

Great, super-quiet coffee shop. Like a study hall with bagels. Once, when they’re ATM machine was broken and I was out of cash they said, «No problem! Pay next time!» So nice and neighborhoodly, that made my day. Love these guys.

I’ve lived 4 blocks from this place for a year and half without knowing about it. There are two things I can learn from this: 1) it’s a perfectly awesome little«hidden» gem on a quiet street 2) I’m not as good at Unilocal as I thought I was. I’ve literally Unilocaled«café, work, wifi» 25 times, and never saw this place. For a year and a half. I am dumb. People are nice, the whole place(especially the bathroom) has a delightful log-cabin-y feel. Could have more comfortable seating(if I had to come up with one complaint).

Stopped by for a bite and to get some work done one morning. Their chai had a nice foam on top, but ultimately was not that flavorful. The breakfast bagel wasn’t anything special, but it and the chai kept me sated into the early afternoon. For a feel of how crowded it might get, by around 10:30am, there were 13 peeps(with ~3 tables open still) — every person on a pad or laptop, one on a phone. Overall I’d say it was a little busier before noon, then lightened up a little bit. Free wifi speeds: 7.1mbps down 3.6 up. One annoyance was that the worker behind the counter appeared to be taking a personal call on a cellphone and ignored me for a while, so I had a seat until the boss came back to start taking orders. Still, appears to be a good place to get work done. Maybe the coffee is better?

This place is so essential to the neighborhood! It’s a lifesaver for people who work from home during the week or are looking to be productive on the afternoons/weekends. Aside from the solid wi-fi, the area is spacious and includes LOTS of outlets, tables, and chairs. It’s also nice and quiet, with some light background music. I haven’t tried the pastries, but my veggie sandwich and Americano were both great. Just wish they were open later than 7!

Excellent place to work or study; free wi-fi. Not a place to go to socialize because you will get the stare of death from others working on their laptops. I’ve seen it. And if you get a phone call, be polite and step outside or many evil eyes will turn your coffee cold. As for the food and coffee; it’s not bad. I’ve only had the muffins and pastries, which are adequate. The coffee is nothing to write home about. Also, I really wish they’d ask simple questions upon ordering like: would you like a small or large, or will that be one shot or two? But, it depends on who’s manning the counter. I’ve always assumed they only have one size cups…

Definitely a «study» coffee shop, not as good for conversations — I felt loud and awkward. But — the owners are super friendly and the Vietnamese iced coffee was great. The crowd is also friendly. When it got crowded, nobody blinked an eye at sharing a table with a stranger. I’d definitely want to come back here, grab a coffee(and probably a pastry too) and just read.

Every possible cute thing you associate with San Francisco, the history and vibe of the Castro, and the positive associations of «independent coffee shop», just wrapped up into one little café on a quiet little street just a few blocks from the main street. Free wifi, tasty coffee, good pastries, and all of the positive associations of that list above make this exactly where you want to chill out and work on your next writing assignment.

Jumpin Java is a solid 3.5 stars, but since Unilocal makes me choose whole stars only I dawdled between 3&4 for some time and finally rounded up. On the plus side, this is a very comfortable café. Wood floors. Nice neighborhood. Solid — but not sublime — lattes. Spacious tables. Plenty of power strips. Good light, but still dim enough to be cozy. Decent interior. Very coffeehouse-esque. Not generic. I use the term«negative side» for what follows with trepidation, because there really aren’t any true negatives to this place. Just near misses. The saran-wrapped unrefrigerated selection of food was unappetizing. There is a discounted«day old» pastry section, which is never a good sign. Means they don’t turn over their food very fast. I also somehow doubt most of this stuff is baked daily. The staff was a solid OK. Not overly friendly or rude. Just there. There was music, but bad music. A more curated selection of tunes alone would push this place up a notch. All in all, you could do worse than pass some time here. I’ve enjoyed my visits. But when I want a more immersive java jubilee I jump over to other… need another j-word here but can’t conjure one… coffeehouses.

I just discovered Jumpin’ Java a few weeks ago. What a breath of fresh air from the corporate coffee shops! I love the neighborhood where they are located. They attract a nice clientele, the coffee is excellent, and they have a nice assortment of bagel sandwiches at good prices. My favorite is an onion bagel with sun dried tomato spread, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers… yum! The other thing I really appreciate is their strong wifi signal. I love bringing my MacBook, having breakfast and getting caught up on world events.

Free WiFi, plenty of outlets — a great quiet spot to get some work done. The only problem is that people know it! It can be hard to claim a spot amongst the others here, lining the walls with their laptops, headphones and mugs. Coffee and other drinks are pretty good, and they offer a variety of flavored syrups(including sugar-free). Also a good variety of juices and teas to choose from. Fresh-made smoothies to order. They have different pastries, snacks, fruit and a good-looking breakfast and lunch menu — think: breakfast sandwiches, BLTs, tuna, turkey, wraps as well as specials and soups of the day, etc. I haven’t tried the food here yet, but I will. A must-know: CASHONLY!

I’ve read through all the reviews listed here and I’m shocked that the same man that I deal with on a daily basis was so rude to some of you. I’ve never had this experience. Having owned a coffee shop and having worked in the coffee industry for over 10 years, I can honestly say this place is great! I understand the daily ups and downs and the craziness of the local politics. My coffee is consistently good and the conversation and service is great! I enjoy stopping in every morning and it has even started to make my day better. It’s like stopping for a chat with a friend. What people need to understand is that a business cannot survive if people use it like their own living room. A lot of people come to a coffee shop to work or read and when people are talking like they are in a packed bar, it drives the other people crazy. If you’re going to be having one of these types of meetings, don’t go here. Go to an already loud space. Think about the people sitting around you. Also, don’t just go into a business and think you can sit there without ordering. How is the person working supposed to know that you may eventually order something? How long should this person wait before asking if you are going to be a customer or if you’re just there to mooch the wifi? Anyway, I’ll step down off of my soap box! I hope others will try this place out. I highly recommend it to my coworkers and friends!

Jumpin’ Java is a cute little coffee house nestled in a beautiful quite neighborhood. They have good coffee, a cozy ambience and free internet. Yes, free internet! I come. I don’t know what is it that makes this special, but I simply love the ambience and find it a great place to exploit my creative pursuits. So usually, I come here, order a nice steaming cup of cappuccino if it’s a cool day or a nice refreshing glass of frappé if it’s a hot day, sit down with my laptop, and never realize the hours passing by. If you are one of those coffee-loving artists, you should definitely check this place out.
