A $ 40 meal for three people is average for us. The food was good and the kids love the free candy. The service there is really good. The ladies that work there know what they are doing, unlike some place. I recommend this place for any family.

Been going to this place since I was a kid. I love the chow fu with the soft egg and beef or shrimp. It’s a quiet yummy place to go!

I enjoyed eating their Won Ton with Beef Tendons and Noodles. Their Curry Pot Stickers are nicely browned but not crispy.

Just Wonton is just okay compared to the wonton that we have available in LA. Someone I know that owns a home in the area but lives in LA has been raving to me about this place for years and I finally got to try it on my recent trip to SF. It is a little hole in the wall with a little bathroom. It reminded me a vegan restaurant in Berkeley where the bathroom is in a broom closet and the sink is above the toilet. I wasn’t feeing too well and my daughter was HANGRY so I just quickly ordered our usual: wonton soup noodles for her and wonton and dumpling soup for me. I didn’t want to but I had to take it to go since my baby was napping. I was glad they were not in styrofoam like in LA as I’m sure SF doesn’t allow it. The dumplings IMO were better then the wontons. The only difference is that dumplings typically have woodear mushrooms but these were just black mushrooms. The shrimps and veggies were fresh and the broth was good but for some reason, they weren’t filling. My daughter and I were hungry shortly: p Both our orders was only $ 13 considering it’s in SF and there was street parking which is rare. I’m not sure if I would make an effort to come back but the pan fried dumplings, deep fried wontons, and oily noodles looked really good.

LOOOOOVE this little hole in the wall gem, and all of its clog-your-artery oily goodness. Neighborhood parking is plentiful and free! Service is superb. Cheap prices. Good portions. Most importantly, the food is absolutely uh-may-zing! This is hands down my favorite place to get chow fun. My one and only go-to plate is always the wet, MOIST, scrambled egg with beef and Chinese sausage over chow fun drizzled wit sweet hoisin. Hehe. No ragrets eating all dis oily noodles.

Yes it’s a hole-in-the-wall. It’s small and intimate enough that they always have fairly nice service. I’m surprised it’s never been too crowded that I have to wait for a table. Great comfort food at pretty low prices. My faves are the egg and shrimp over rice noodles and the fried wontons. Sadly they seem to run out of rice noodles sometimes, which can be disappointing if you have a craving.

Totally a hole-in-the-wall. And I love it. Sometimes, when you are looking for a good bowl of won-ton noodle soup, the fancy places just don’t cut it. As the name suggests, I was very much looking forward to have a bowl, and… It delivered. Excellent service, friendly and quick. Seating is very limited, but lucky to get a spot for two at lunch time. Be prepared to wait however. 1)Won Ton Noodle soup — Flavorful broth. MSG? I don’t know, but it’s good. Noodles on point, not soggy, had substance. Won-tons were shrimp and pork, a little on the smaller side, but very tasty. They also give each table different color chopsticks! 2)Spicy Rib Won Ton Soup — literally, everything I posted above plus ribs! Meat was grilled to perfection, tender, and they give you quite a bit. 3)The famed Scrambled egg with beef ho fun — Wok Hay! This family owned place knows how to do it right. I will be coming back.

Just Won Ton has really gone downward in the past year. It was always a neighborhood go-to for us, but 3 bad meals are enough! We won’t be going back or recommending any longer. Over priced for dry tasteless BBQ pork, awful broccoli beef, just to name a few. The wonton soup is decent but not worth a visit. Too, too many other restaurants in the ‘hood that seem to care. Sorry to even write this but felt is was necessary to save others from wasting hard earned money.

Agree with 3.5−4 rating, it’s indeed a hole in the wall place but good comfort food for family dining. Tasty wontons, noodles and rice dishes for reasonable prices; we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, definitely better then several other same caliber places we’ve tried in SF. Wontons tasted very fresh, made with pork and shrimp, good broth and texture of noodles were just right. Shrimp /egg chow fun was different from what I expected, it was not covered with corn starch thickened gravy but a dryer flavorful version. Very good. Home made pot stickers were excellent, the fillings tasted very fresh. Tomato beef over rice was OK and sauce was so red. Chinese Gai-Lan with oyster sauce was good. We’d definitely go back if in the neighborhood.

Food is delicious but the fried rice portion is so unchinese. What does that mean… Small ass plate of rice… Four bowls of rice. Cmon… You can do better Dumplings and hook are spot on

Typical wonton place. Pretty good. Simple menu. Good portion size. Fast service. What more can you ask for? Wontons are made out of shrimp and pork.

My buddy and I just happened into Just Wonton when another restaurant was full. Also, we wanted to try something new. The War WonTon soup was hot and tasty although just a tad greasy(pork), but the Shrimp and Scampi Chow Fun was fantastic… perhaps the best I’ve ever tasted as it had a nice rich egg sauce giving it a more complex texture. This is a good neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I started to give it a 3 because the atmosphere and décor could be so much nicer… ultimately thought I decided the Chow Fun was enough to push it up to a 4. Enjoy and have chow FUN! :)

After visiting the SF zoo, we were looking for take out to bring back home. I called in my order figuring it would be ready by the time I got there. After finding street parking and paying for my order, it took them another 15 minutes to get my order! From my call to receiving my order took 25 minutes. How does it take 25 minutes for a couple of items when the restaurant is practically empty? The Won Ton’s were okay, but nothing special that I can’t find elsewhere. It’s a little pricey compared to other places in the city.

Dunno, man. I don’t go here often anymore, but I’m always excited to relive my childhood days eating there every week. Their won tons were sub par. Broth was lukewarm and it took a bit longer than their speedy quick service(It was around 2p on a weekend, real slow). The chicken with salted fish fried rice had unknown crunchy chicken parts in it. I took one out of my mouth, and I literally, could not figure out what it was. Shudder. What I still enjoy is the homey vibe and the scrambled egg with noodle was still the bomb.(As with the other fried flat noodles). A bit oily, but nothing out of the ordinary I’ll still go back but not for the won ton or the salted fish fried rice. I’ll stick to over rice dishes and fried noodles.

I had the genius idea to bring my lady friend to Just Won Ton since she was feeling a little under the weather. This tong isn’t magical but it’s still pretty darn good. She felt better after the meal, probably mostly because of my company. Okay, probably not. She ordered the wonton and dumpling soup(~$ 6) while I ordered the spicy beef cube and wonton noodle soup(~$ 8) with extra veggies(~$ 4), cause you know. Health and all. The spicy beef cube and wonton was pretty solid on all counts– strong broth, a plentiful amount of wontons and noodles, and beef with a nice kick. Keep in mind, this is nothing like Taiwanese beef noodle soup so don’t try to compare the two– they’re way different. I deeply regret trying to be healthy and getting extra veggies. Soups come with 2 bak choy and I paid an extra $ 4 for 2 – 3 more pieces when another bowl of soup could have been $ 6. Something about this food math isn’t adding up. Lesson of the story– this is a solid restaurant with good service. BUT, if you’re feeling healthy, go big and order 2 bowls of noodles instead of adding more veggies.

A large amount of bugs were found in the wontons noodle soup! Definitely over 20 bugs! Not a good experience! Go up the street to riverside(a superb Chinese food restaurant)

My first time here was today. I was the first customer of the day. I found parking a block down from the restaurant. This place is cool. I walked in and found menus on the table. I reviewed the items on the menu and found my items for purchase. I had to wait awhile because they had just opened their doors. Service was real fast. That was real cool. They accept credit cards here so don’t worry. This place is just very laid back. The inside of the restaurant goes straight back and isn’t very wide but that’s okay with me. I would have given 5 stars had a found the honey walnut prawns or chicken on the menu. Overall, highly satisfied with my bringing my business here again.

Awesome hole in the wall restaurant! It’s clearly a family owned restaurant and they serve the classics: wonton soup, fried rice, braised bok choy, etc. The wonton soup had pretty average broth but the wontons were pretty good and decently sized. My friend and I also got the curried potstickers which were just regular potstickers with curry mixed into the filling, which I think actually made it a little dry for my tastes. The star of the meal was definitely the soft scrambled eggs with shrimp over ho fun! The ho fun was nice and soft and the brown sauce and scallion topping was a nice touch. Overall, this is a classic Chinese restaurant so don’t come here if a) you want something fancier or b) you’re scared of greasy food(they obviously use a lot of oil for their cooking). The service was good though and the food came out really quick! This restaurant also looked relatively clean.

Yummy food. Decent price. Tiny restroom. Good service(I came when no one was there) at 2pm on a weekday. Don’t take discover cards. Scrambled egg and beef over ho fun is yummy. Igot it to go and there’s a hole in my to go plastic box! :O sauce spilled everywhere in the plastic bag. I wonder if they knew and just didn’t care…

No frills, good Chinese food. The won tons were silky, stuffed with flavorful pork and whole pieces of shrimp. I had the roasted duck and wonton noodle soup which was served with tasty duck, thin egg noodles, and a clean broth perfect for being doctored up to your liking with the condiments on the table. I failed to take a pic because I just dove right into the bowl as soon as it got to the table. I also tried the popular soft scrambled eggs with shrimp over ho fun. Every component of this dish was perfect — the oh so soft egg, the sweet shrimp, and the starchy rice noodles. The curry potstickers were also something special, an item that I’ve never had before. The filling was all curried up in flavor so I felt the potstickers didn’t really need a dipping sauce. The waitresses were nice, and eating at the restaurant felt like eating at an Asian relative’s house. Just won ton. Just do it.
