Kidrobot

Kidrobot is probably one of the best toy makers in the business right now along with Funko. This store even sells some Funko products!
It’s a very unique toy store and they really have some of the best quality figures you can find in the Bay Area. There is always a constant flux of new products so you might need to come here often if you’re looking for a particular line.
Service is friendly and they really know their stuff. If you’re a toy collector and are in SF, you need to check this place out.

Uhm, I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS loved KidRobot. It basically embodies some major things I love – good design, quirkiness, and art, in the form of figurines and keychainsssss. SOOO basically being in a Kidrobot store IRL was super exciting for me!!! It’s fun to check out all the bizarre but awesome things so many artists end up creating and I think it represents so much of what HAIGHT is.
Check it outttt and bring money if you’re like me and love these things…

I wished the Kid Robot store didn’t close in Melrose in LA. They have a store on Haight, but it isn’t run by the same owners. It’s ok, because the store is still awesome and I love vinyl collectible toys. I had to refrain from buying anything, otherwise I would go overboard, it was fun to check out.

The best store. Get all your designer toy and vinyl needs and the staff is just lovely.

Definitely one of the best retail shops in all of the Haight; serves the public as part art gallery and part collectors haven. If you have a love for art or vinyl collectibles, this is the place for you to visit. I visit this shop for their numerous blind boxes and special releases, but have also stopped by to purchase hard to find collaboration pieces from artist Luke Chueh and hip hop artist; Aesop Rock. Be sure to sign up for new release notifications and artist appearances, as sometimes they have limited stock and customized pieces available.

Part art gallery, part store, if you’re interested in art, design, toys, or are just nearby and bored (or any combo of the above), be sure to stop by!
It’s a small space but it’s still definitely full of all the latest KidRobot merchandise and collections. I love spending time going from piece to piece and observing all the details.
KidRobot designer toys can be cute, quirky, or just plain weird. I thought the workers there were really informative and happy to talk to you about any of the stuff in store. I came here specifically to buy something since KidRobot merchandise isn’t readily available in my home town and I didn’t want to buy online. I was really happy to see they had the item I wanted in stock.

Only one word to describe Kidrobot — one of the coolest store in the district with a distinct character, Haight-​Ashbury.
For those of us who grew up with the ninja turtles, futurama, simpsons, family guy, and gundams. This place has all the nostalgia and more. A store doubles a museum, one can spend hours in here peeking through the glass cabinets to find high quality figurines with flawlessly detailed paintwork. On my most recent expedition, I found the Butters Paladin from South Park’s Stick of Truth game. Score!
Having one of these guys being the resident of a corner of the room definitely adds something rocketeeriness to the atmosphere.

I remember going to KidRobot in Manhattan so I thought this store would be similarly sized. However I was wrong and this place is quite tiny. As a result there isn’t that much inventory unfortunately. It’s still nice to take a look and see the toys and the labbits!

I collect a lot of Kidrobot stuff, so naturally I decided to give KR SF a visit while I was in the area. I expected a lot from this store, rare items I can’t get online, great customer service, great prices. A lot of what I get from the online store or dealing with the KR message board. I was sadly wrong though.
The place was definitely rammed inside with tourists and collectors alike. I was hard to get a good look at all the items let alone find an employee to help out. As I searched through the store though, I found nothing out of the ordinary. There wasn’t anything that I wasn’t about to buy at my local retailers back home or just simply order online. Also I noticed the prices were fairly high for non Kidrobot stuff. There were a few Kaws pieces and they were marked up significantly higher than normal.
Overall if you’re a hardcore Kidrobot fan there’s nothing really any different at this location other than the fact there are a few giant Dunny and Labbit sculptures throughout the store. Also there are opportunities to visit signings by artists and things like that. Unfortunately none of that was going on when I was in SF, but maybe next time!

I have herd that this is an online store but this store is amazing
I saw the inside of the store and I started to freak out this store looks like it deserved more people than me I really wanted to get the labbit/​rabbit with a mustache. Hard to find parking though I really wanted to walk around the town but the parking was filled up :(
otherwise this store was nice to visit might come back if I come to the area again

Kidrobot is a dream for people like me, who love animé, comics, comfort tv, superheroes, scary-​cute things, food personified, and mashups of any and/​or all of the above.
I wish the inventory would turn over a little faster — often times I go months between visits and they still have mostly the same items. But I can usually count on them to have a new Dunny series every few visits. Dunnys are great, because the detail on many of them is striking, and at 3″ you can collect dozens of them and they don’t take up very much space.
I’m glad that they decided to keep this one open (or rather, spin it off to someone who kept it open) when almost all the other ones have been closed. Fingers crossed.

I love Kid Robot and was excited when I saw one at Haight & Ashbury.

Such a cool place and utter waste of time and money! Its all so cool, and chances are you’ll end up buying something. They have toys of all different sizes. Some super tiny and some you can put on display. I got a labbit and you will too. or a robot.

I absolutely love this store. The ambience of this place is very welcoming. The displays they have are very intriguing. I love how the employees are so thoughtful. They compensate for the things they can’t provide.
I’m definitely coming back to this store. I love walking in and looking at all the different Munny’s that artists have created. Such a big fan of KidRobot.
If your thinking about buying gifts for birthdays or just to fill stockings/​gift bags, this is the store for you. The amount of things that they carry is great for both adults and children.

Upon taking pictures of the storefront I was asked by another customer «are you a fan of kid robot»… Am I a fan? words cannot explain my dorky inclinations to this store. In hawaii we don’t have kidrobot or any other vinyls store, so when I get to stop by here I become like a kid in a candy store.
Pure excitement is flowing through my veins upon walking in and seeing the showcases of dunny’s, labbits, blind boxes, and so on. I also noticed they had a impressive series of teenage mutant ninjas and marvel munny’s, which I couldn’t help but to buy a whole bunch.
The selection of clothes is awesome, not a lot but what they do have is pretty sick. They have clothes for mostly mens but they do carry a few pieces for women’s, kid’s, and baby’s. To my surprise there was a good selection of clothes that was on sale, I ended up buying a nice mens sweater for half the original price.
Everything is neatly displayed and organized, so things are easily accessible. Which is unfortunate for those such as myself who lack self control in kidrobot and end up buying a ton of things they don’t need. So if you’re into pop art, street art, vinyls, japanese inspired trinkets, etc, then kid robot is definitely the place to go.

This store was neat. They had new and old themed toys (The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and other characters I’m not familiar with but were cool.) It’s a very limited selection, and the prices were pretty reasonable.

Awesome collectible a shop located on Haight St that sells a wide range of Munny figurines ranging from Marvel Heroes to Futurama, you’ll definitely find something you like. They’re moderately priced so it won’t bust the bank too quickly. They also sell shirts and hats too! Definitely worth checking out.

I heart this place. If you’re looking for a traditional toy store, this is not it.
In fact, the target consumer is adult.
The Heidi Kenney YUMMY line is probably the most kid-​friendly if you did need to pick up a gift. There are plush toys, kids tees and key chains of food with faces.
There are lots of street art inspired toys. Inventory includes vinyl toys, blind boxes, hats, shirts and zipper pulls.
Get a Munny and draw or paint it yourself. They have a contest in May where you can submit your entry.
The store is small, fun and a bit pricey. Get on the mailing list and you’ll know when the deals are and when there are in store signings with the artists.

If I were a plush toy I would be a labbit. The non-​smoking one, because I don’t smoke.
This store is a hip store for geeks, dorks, nerds, teenagers, and cartoon lovers. I’m the latter. I love cartoons, and the Family Guy, Futurama toys, and strange Japanese toys always make me smile.
Where else can you get a doughnut keychain? A smoking labbit embodying the 7 deadly sins, or a replica of balloon animals? Here, that’s where.
Came in here looking for their clown labbit for my granny (she may have lost her youth and speed but she still has her sense of humor) and the woman sensing my frustration after buying 3 random packs and not getting the labbit asked me which one I was looking for.
I told her «the clown one. For granny.»
She was probably thinking I was another nerd, but she never let it show. Instead she reached into the case and traded my Barney purple labbit for the clown one.
Thanks! You made my Grandma’s Xmas!
P.S I was wrong about the price of the giant labbit, it’s $ 150 not $ 120.

I’m a kid at heart so I naturally felt at home when visiting this store. This place has a bunch of toys from Japanese culture, such as Hello Kitty. They also have figures from popular American TV shows like Futurama, Family Guy, or South Park. As a big fan of Street Fighter (it’s a video game), I always leave this place with at least one figurine. The owners are also really nice and helpful.
My only complaint is that it’s really difficult to find parking. You’re gonna have to park a few blocks away on the street because there’s no parking near this location whatsoever. Also, there’s no bathroom if you’re gonna have to use it.
Other than that, fun place if you’re into nerdy stuff like me!

Oh Kidrobot, you adorable money stealer. Kidrobot is a designer toy shop (aka: non-​sexual adult toys, haha). I love their figurines, blindbox toys, keychains, statuettes and small collectibles of Futurama, Simpsons, comic book and video game characters, animé chicks and adorable little inanimate objects and food items with cute Japanese facial expressions. It kills me with the cute!
Kidrobot is basically nothing I need and everything I WAAAAAANT. We left with a Futurama figure which left us $ 50 lighter, but then HedonismBot apologizes… for nothing! :)

That pains me to give a Kid Robot location 3 out of 5 stars, as I am very partial to designer toy stores.
I’m giving 3 stars because the service sucks, and the store itself is about the size of my tiny ass Chicago studio. Small location, to me, means not a whole lot of selection.

Location is in Haight/​Ashbury. I’m cool with the location, except for the wandering crackheads I saw a few blocks down. But then again, you can see that anywhere.
Even though I’m giving a mediocre review, I’d still come back. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.
