I don’t even know where to begin. It has been 3 ½ hours since my first appointment with Brian.
My journey to heal from serious and ongoing childhood traumas, as well as ongoing intense lack of energy and health issues, has led me to many different practitioners and therapists. I began my Chinese Medicine journey two years ago, going to different acupuncturists, herbalists, integrative people, as well as beginning my own QiGong and herbal practice.
I have been to practitioners who purported themselves as the best, super expensive practitioners, and practitioners with seemingly perfect credentials. Everyone was alright, some good, but as for serious healing, I had given up on being able to rely on someone else’s wisdom, discrimination, and experience, and took it upon myself to struggle and struggle as I forged my own way.
Today, that changed. I didn’t expect it to, I just wanted to see what is known as a «Shen-​Hammer» pulse practitioner. These Shen-​Hammer people are known for magically in depth diagnostic procedure and skill. Yes, Brian was a master at this… and so much more.
I cannot believe how this man saw me. I have struggled for years trying to get therapists and medical practitioners alike to see that I am not my traumas. Yes, I am anxious, depressed, dissociated, worn out, ect. now, but naturally, constitutionally, I am actually very strong, centered, and happy-​go-​lucky. He clearly, clearly saw this. I didn’t have to correct or intervene once. He had no listening blocks, he had no script, he was truly present, empathetic, and profoundly skillful. He was intelligent, open, masterful, and extremely knowledgable.
I walked away feeling a happiness to be alive that I haven’t had in a long time; I felt inspired, directed, guided, and cared for– and all we did was have a consultation, no treatment.
He integrates the gifts of Western Medicine into his superbly deep understanding of Chinese Medicine– none of this 4-​year acupuncture school TCM crap– he has a deep understanding.
I am super excited to keep working with this man. I was surprised he knew all of the different naturopathic supplements I was taking, in addition to the Chinese herbs! And these were new and obscure supplements, too! He can also read bloodwork and stool tests.
His secretary Sabrina is very sweet and caring as well.
He is a bit expensive at $ 275 for 1 ½ hour consultation and $ 175 follow ups… BUT THIS IS WORTH IT. Seriously. I am a poor student and I am investing in this and halting my purchasing of teas, herbs, supplements, vitamins and all other practitioners except a psychotherapist. All that going to practitioners who «help a bit» and are «cheaper» over and over again really adds up… invest in something that will actually change your life… invest in Brian.
