Lived here my whole life so to say I have the option of Leland Market, La Loma, and Grocery Outlet is truly a luxury to say. I started going to La Loma because of the produce/meat diversity, store set up, and latino influence. Counted 6 times, I have been cut in line holding numerous objects because you know those baskets carry so much, I have been cut in line and made forced to wait with money in hand. For that to happen, the store clerk doesn’t care about loyal customers, want my money, and tells me that he doesn’t care. I will be going elsewhere to spend my $ 100 a week on food. The store clerks employ their son which I think is great because its a small business and I appreciate the family effort as my family once owned a store. I feel if they provided better customer service and noticed usual customers… they might get more business. Until then this grocery outlet is sure going to kill their traffic from now on. $ 5.95(+tax) for apple jacks @ La Loma $ 2.49(+tax) for apple jacks @ Grocery Outlet(family sized) …just saying.

I come here for tamales and am never disappointed. The staff are really nice and friendly too. A good neighborhood grocery store that hopefully stays in business for a very long time.

There just isn’t many choices for markets in the area and they know it. The guy is sometime rude and most of the friendly. The food quality is OK, but the prices are a bit higher than most other markets like the ones in the Excelsior or off of San Bruno. Bought a couple pastries from here and they were $ 1 for 2, instead of $ 1 for 3 like most places.

La Loma produce… there are so many of these in San Francisco. This is a close grocery store that sells fresh vegetables for a decent price. I had to buy some garlic bulbs and green onions, oranges to marinate some meat and I did not feel like going to a large chain super market. I walk there to get some exercise and got what I needed. I sometimes do buy scratchers from here and I have won from buying there scratchers. Unfortunately they do not sell them no more and they only sell lottery tickets. Overall it is very convenient mom and pop store trying to make a living. I try to support them when I can. My mom goes here when she need small ingredients before she cooks. Nice and convenient store. –Parking– Parking is only street parking with meter, I usually walk here.

There are not many places to shop or buy groceries in this area(Visitacion Valley) This place is a large grocery store. They sell produce, meat, and sandwiches. There is nothing really special about this place. But considering the lack of options in this area, this is as good as it is going to get when it comes to buying groceries and sandwiches around Leland Street. Customer service was OK. They also sell grab and go food, such as the heated tamales and poor boy sandwiches for under 2 dollars.

I love La Loma! They have very reasonably priced fresh produce, a small competitively priced meat counter and a freezer full of pre-packed half gallons of Mitchell’s Ice Cream!!! The Mitchell’s supply dwindles quickly, because Visitation Valley folk can’t get enough of it. Vis Valley might be a lo-fi neighborhood, but we have hi-fi taste and La Loma is there to keep us happy. And, well nourished. And, leaving with a smile, because of their friendly service! Thanks La Loma, for being a much needed gem on Leland Avenue!

There aren’t many market’s near my house, so I’m forced to travel to Leland to shop. This spot is always my first choice. Not huge, but not tiny either. The prices are great, and the they always have fresh produce. Along with the usual produce, meat, and other various items you’d see at your typical market, they have fresh food as well. Always have a steamer full of chicken, corn, beef, and pork tamales. They also have a little deli with sandwiches, nachos, etc. The service is my favorite part about this place though. You’re always greeted with a smile, and the owners will ring you up, and ask how you’ve been. Check this hidden gem out.

I go to this market almost everyday they have everything that I need for dinner that night and everything is fresh. On the weekend and some Friday they have home made tamales.

My local store. They’re super friendly. Pretty good produce at comparable prices — and they recently added a meat counter with all brand new equipment. I’d rate them higher if their selection of junk food(cookies, candy etc) was better!
