Noelle’s Unilocal Notebook 2015 Lafayette playground is our go to spot when we’re in the San Francisco neighborhood of Pacific Heights. Parking is limited on the perimeter of the park but we’re fortunate we can walk there and not have to worry about parking. The toddler area of Lafayette playground was not the nicest years ago but the renovations since are nothing short of spectacular. The playground is enclosed so you don’t have to worry about your little one escaping. One of my favorite things about the playground is — ‘no tanbark’ I detest tanbark because I’m afraid of splinters, I’m a big believer of the firm foam instead. Ian loves running around the playground. He enjoys the swings and the orange spinning ride. When we were there last Ian and a couple of kids were having a blast on the orange spinning ride. There are other parts of the playground that we tread with caution — they have these long metal poles that the bigger kids like the slide down(definitely not toddler friendly) and the slide is a tad steep. Unfortunately, the water sensory stream(almost similar to the one at Monterey Bay Aquarium) is dry and not working– probably left unfilled due to our current drought conditions. This is a great family friendly playground– clean and well maintained! I highly recommend this park to those with kids– bring a picnic lunch and get ready for a day of fun :) Noelle’s Notes Our favorite park in the city! Enclosed for the little ones safety Family friendly

Whoever designed this playground does probably not have smaller children. If you come on your own with small children, it is hard to keep an eye on them because of the massive structure in the middle of the playground. I do appreciate the clean restroom and the gates.

Great views from up here! That for me is the main selling point as I don’t have kids to use the playground. They seemed to have plenty of play equipment though. There’s also an area at the top with a few picnic tables and a nice open space if you wanted to get people together in the park.

Great playground. Not too big and not small. Bathrooms are clean. Tables to sit and eat. Parking is a little difficult.

This is our second favorite playground after Alta Plaza Park. It has completed renovations and it just beautiful. There is a separate dog run area. A separate and gated playground for toddlers to elementary age kids(okay it is good for us parents to run around too). There is a water sensory stream for the kids to sit and put there feet in and pumps to get the water circulating. A hill castle something for kids to climb and pretend that they are conquering or rescuing their playmates. Look it is really an imaginative playground, but parking will be a challenge.

A pretty spot for a playground — it’s really nestled into the trees. If your kid’s not into climbing, there’s not too much for him/her to do here. You will see very stylish children and their very stylish nannies here. Public bathrooms are nearby and in good condition. Warning: It’s a hike waaaay up the hill to get to this playground!
