Benn here twice and so far so good. Really enjoy here great sorts of different beer very low key but yet casual. This is a stopper to check out.

Came in for a Bikedog Brewing tap takeover kind of thing. We really loved the place. Parking was insane but I’m beyond taking off stars for that. The selection of brews was great and the folks working there were very friendly and helpful. The place has an excellent vibe. One small thing: I wish they’d give you a card or some way to label beers when you order a tasting. Easily fixable. Great spot!

Liquid Gold(LG) is all about craft brews and variety, meaning there’s something for just about everyone’s palate here! Visiting from the Mid-Atlantic region, where I’m spoiled because I can walk from my job to ChurchKey in D.C.‘s Logan Circle, LG takes it to another level with two large fridges in the back. Those fridges house bottles of beer, wine and cider for sale — take some things home or pop open and drink it there. Now, that’s a beautiful thing… The bar itself has a laid back, modern feel to it. and the décor stays true to its West Coast/SF roots. If you live in that neighborhood, I’m jealous. I saw some folks enjoying bottles in the back table with their toddlers, some folks watching a Ball game, others enjoying their friends and conversation. If your visiting, you must stop in.

Great little bar great beer list, 30 taps. Second visit. Staff very friendly and honest! My girlfriend left her Canon SLR camera(worth a few dollars) on New Year’s Eve and staff(ROSIE) kept it for her. Very grateful.

30 different beers on tap with options for flights. This is a great spot for a casual beer and if you like the beer, they have a long fridge of beers that you can find your beer in and purchase. I kinda wish they had some bar snacks to buy, but there are plenty of spots around to grab food as well

Liquid Gold is an excellent spot to enjoy great beer and the Nob Hill neighborhood. The selection on tap is solid with many high quality local options and the bottle selection is very good. Low corkage fee as well. The space is clean, simple and slightly modern. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Definitely worth a visit.

Because you know you need a good craft beer after braving those long lines at Trader Joe’s across the street. The draft list has 30 rotating taps and the beer fridge in the back has countless more options. Great chill vibe for Nob Hill and nice lighting for a date.

Came here on my last day visiting the awesome city of SF and liquid gold definitely did not disappoint. Coming from San Diego, where I’ve been spoiled in regards to craft beer, I have pretty high expectations when evaluating a beer bar and they were all exceeded here. Friendly bar tender, cool interior and setup, and amazing selection. About 30 taps and a huge selection of bottles. If your a craft beer geek looking for an awesome beer bar in SF, make sure you give this place a visit.

I liked this place. It’s clean, not overly crowded with hipsters, and their beer was good. They had a vast selection to cater to all types of people. I like lights, sours, and ciders and they were all very delectable. This place is super chill though, I can’t stand going to a bar where I have to yell at the person I’m talking too. This place is intimate and really laid back. I’m definitely coming back!

Never had cherry cider until this place! The great thing is: you can get a small pour to try it out, so you’re not stuck with a full glass if you don’t like it. But hey! I liked it! Never saw it on a menu before, so had to try it. Anyway, not a big space, but great neighborhood spot.

30 beers on tap. That’s good beer at that. Stumbled on Liquid Gold a few months back and it’s a lovely spot to grab a pint and discover some new brewskis while you’re at it. Tried some new pints from dependable brewers like St. Archer and Half Moon Bay but also was pleasantly surprised by the the blood orange gose that was like a wheat ale with citrus tartness and a slight pinch of saltiness. They have happy hour plus you can also get flights of beers(1 – 5 beers at $ 3/5oz for most beers sans a few) to increase your sampling pleasure here. Service is friendly and you’ll meet local regulars at happy hour time. Not much for food except some popcorn but feel free to have beer for dinner. Definitely worth a stop in if you enjoy your beers since Liquid Gold rotates their taps. Yes… rotating 30 taps.

The selection here is amazing and the staff is super friendly as well as helpful. I assume that locals will be impressed with the diversity of beers and ciders, but for someone from across the country, it was a one-stop tour of some great west coast micro-breweries. I especially recommend the Santa Cruz Scrumpy Hard Pomegranate Cider!

Two times being in San Francisco in the last couple weeks, two stops at Liquid Gold. First, I’ll address the four-star instead of five-star rating. Would get five, but they charge you a «corking fee» for the beers they sell in the refrigerator. Not only do you make a profit in the price of the beer, but then you want to make a second profit for me drinking it. No. Not okay. Okay, I can proceed to my actual review. The beer they have there is a great mix of local and non-local brews, and the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge with you. I did a couple rounds of tasting flights, and he was willing to create a flight for me based on my tastes and preferences. All of the beers he picked were delicious. The next time I came I just picked my own, but it’s nice to have such great folks who can help you on your way if you are a little lost or overwhelmed by the selection. Insert old-lady comment here: I love how the electronic menu is easily changed and updated, but it’s a little hard to see from all places in the bar. Maybe a chalkboard? Some cheap paper menus they can print easily?

Great selection of beers, super friendly bartenders! If I were in SFO I would visit again. I got a flight of beer and one bottle. The flight was bartender’s choice and all of the beers were good. I was there on Friday last week. I didn’t order pizza but you can also order pizza online with beer here. They don’t make pizza in-house BTW, it is to be ordered online. Unfortunately only open until midnight.

You had me a «beer flights!»(But they also made a boo-boo… more on that later.) On the night we went, they had about 30 taps going, and several were wonderful. Notes: Yay: — Ale industries Cherry Kush: a smooth, well-balanced fruit beer, better than the other fruity ones available.(And yes we tried them all!) — Moonlight Reality Czech: yes, it’s famous already… really tasty pilsner. — Cismontane Belgian Dubbel: I don’t usually go for the Belgians named multiples(multipels?) but this one was smooth and Chimayesque. — Heretic Chocolate Hazelnut porter: neither of us tasted chocolate or hazelnuts… instead we got a strong taste of coffee — in a really well balanced beer. More please. Meh: — Dogfish Head black and blue: way too funk /sharp for me. — Almanac Farmer’s reserve strawberry: not much taste other than overwhelming sourness — kind of like kombucha — Altamont berry white: just OK, not a good balance of berry — Berryessa Propaganda Pils — Stillwater Stateside: Hoegaarden-y — Evil Twin Soft dk: it supposedly had vanilla but we mostly tasted the high alcohol content — 10.4% in an «imperial» stout. Oh right, about that boo-boo: the beer I was most excited about — the faction chocolate milk stout — was listed on the online menu. But the nitro machine was missing a part, said the bartender. They hadn’t had it all day. :(oops.

have been waiting to try out this place for a while, and it certainly did not disappoint! came here with a friend to catch up over our new jobs on a sunday precisely at 2 pm when they opened. fantastic — first pick of the seats at the bar. they have a good amount of space, including a party table in the back, as well as a few spots by the entrance facing hyde street. this is the perfect spot to relax before or after your trader joe’s run, because it is literally across the street! my friend is into darker brews, and he’s been here before, so he knew right away what he wanted. i went with a flight of 5 oz. tastes — an assortment of chocolate, milk, vanilla stouts. i was clearly in that kinda mood! the staff were so so friendly and super knowledgeable, and were able to make great recommendations depending on what i had ordered/liked. there are also bottles on bottles for sale in the fridge at the back, so dont forget to check that out. i will FORSURE be back again! what a gem!

They have a great selection of craft beer on tap and they have a well stocked fridge so you can purchase drinks to go. Even though beer is their specialty, they do have wine for those of you who want something else, however the selection isn’t as extensive. Food — they serve food(from next door) and it’s not peanuts, crackers, or pretzels! We had fried tofu and 2 plates of chicken wings with a side of hot sauce. yum. Prices — I think their beer and wine is priced fairly well and competitively with other places in the area. Remember, this isn’t a dive bar…

We have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Liquid Gold. I have to admit, I thought it might be a bit more pretentious than it turned out to be — I keep forgetting that we are SF, and we are a welcoming culture. This is a good beer-centric Tap Room that is focusing on diversity and novelty. 30 Brews On-Tap, and a good range of selections. I like the lay-out of the space. There is a deep space that has good flow. There is room for a few people to a good-sized crowd as it get’s more popular. Their service was excellent. I went off of recommendations for my 4-Beer Flight. All good. There is a good vibe here — it is born out of a love for beer and a desire to share a lot of interesting options. I told the gent I talked to tonight that I LOVE a place that has things that I haven’t tried. They have a lot of interesting stuff, and aim to bring in more. They also have an extensive Off-Sale Bottle selection. 60 – 80. They aim to get unique stuff. If you liked Beer Hall and Hopwater Distribution, this is of that vein, and this is the new kid. Oh, and the Bottle Shop on Telegraph too. Liquid Gold is great. They have a TON of potential to soon be the best.
