Very very satisfied with this place after trying several gyro spots around fidi, this me stands out the most. I had the gyros plate, comes w hummus, salad(w feta) pita bread, tzaziki sauce and of course gyros, which are amazing, great flavir, thick, meaty w plenty of meat, and it was cooked perfectly, not too soft or hard. Everything was good on the plate. Definitely recommend this spot for gyros lovers!

Pretty good Gyros sandwiches and a little cheaper than the cart around the corner on Market. It’s a pleasant place to sit and have a solo lunch if you work in the area. Not recommended for work meetings.

I was very pleasantly surprised to receive an apology email for my last visit and invited back ‘on the house’. Very nice gesture and I appreciate the customer service. Yesterday’s experience was exactly what I was carving: juicy, well-seasoned gyros, fresh salad and hummus, well rounded portions of everything. The woman who assisted me was very nice to customers prior to me and greeted me warmly before I told her I was the«complainer». This place has won me back.

Today I came here for lunch with my mom. We both ordered the lamb gyros and they were DELICIOUS! Everything tasted so fresh. I guess I was comparing it to Oasis, since that place is so popular. So in comparison, the lamb was so juicy(and plentiful!) and seasoned very well. Also the pita was soft and warm. I don’t really like the pita that comes at Oasis and Locali Mediterranean is exactly how pita bread for a Gyro should taste. I definitely recommend this place as we walked in at 12:30 and immediately ordered, sat down, and food brought to us all within about 10 minutes. Thanks for the great service and even better food :) I’ll be back very soon.

Great food. Their Shawarma And plate has never disappointed me. It’s always crowded during lunch time and that makes the service slow too. Also the place gets little stuffed and gets smoky. But I would say, the food is worth all that.

As an east coaster, I have yet to find the perfect gyro in this area, but this place is one of the better gyro spots in SF I have been to. The gyro meat is flavorful and the tzatziki sauce is decent. The staff is also very friendly, which is a plus. It’s a good lunch during the work day and I go a few times a month, so I recommend.

I had the lavash wrap with beef and lamb gyro. It was good and the meat was moist. I had them add spicy sauce which made it scrumptious. The cashier was very nice, too I will come back when I crave gyro or other Mediterranean food. I recommend this place.

I worked at the One Front Street building for almost two years and never thought to stop by Locali for lunch. This little place is conveniently located just outside the entrance to the building parking garage, but I guess I was always looking to venture out further from the nest for midday grub. When I gave my two weeks notice in mid-February, I decided to enjoy the remainder of my time in the Financial District by going to a bunch of new(to me) places for lunch. Have you ever heard of the«sandwich method of feedback»? Or, according to one blogger, the«pat on the back-sucker punch-pat on the back» approach?( ) Well, you basically place constructive criticism between two positives. I think I’ll give it a whirl here — +: There was a short line when I walked in at around 1:20PM, and three diners who looked like they were just finishing up. Seating-wise, you’ll find six bar stools lined against a raised counter area to the right when you walk in, and three more bar stools and a raised counter near the window to your left. Two raised tables for two are near the left wall, and there are two lower tables for two in the middle of the floor. Let’s just say that Nia Vardalos of «My Big Fat Greek Wedding» fame could definitely not bring her fictional family there. The woman at the cash register gave me one of the warmest greetings I have ever received… and I work in HR. Seriously, I’m writing this review a good two months after eating at this place and I can still recall being caught off-guard by her charming«Hi!»(Note: I know I’m just one big ball of sarcasm, but this time I am being forreals.) She took my order, swiped my Visa(yay for a lunch spot that takes credit cards!), had me sign my receipt, and then gave me a ticket number. Even though Locali has a pretty barebones operation going on, three people total behind the counter, they had my order to me in under 10 minutes. I ordered their Greek Platter — Spit-roasted beef & lamb, fries & tzatziki sauce — 7.65 + baklava — 1.50/piece. Once my order was ready, I headed back up to my office and tucked in. —: Have you ever heard the saying, «You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink»? Growing up, I remember hearing it on a number of occasions, but I’ll never forget the first time I heard someone add this on: «Yes, but you can add salt to his oats.» I honestly feel like the people tasked with composing the menu item names and descriptions could have saved themselves the trouble on my item and just wrote«SALT!!!» Kidney-burdening, blood pressure raising SALT!!! I took a few bites out of everything that comprised the«Greek platter» and just gave up, afraid that I might suffer the same fate as Lot’s wife in Genesis 19:26. +: I no longer work near Locali. (In all seriousness, I am basing my review on JUSTONE brush with death, I mean, this place. Other people have liked what they have eaten here so take what I’ve said with a grain of … I’ll just stop now.)

One of my favorite places in FiDi. They have gluten-free bread for sandwiches, which is surprisingly extremely hard to find at casual lunch spots around here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I also come in for breakfast, and they have some great options for affordable prices. Highly recommend checking this place out.

so the food is great… but super slow because they aren’t designed to handle lunch rush. Tip: order in advance.

Happening lunch spot tucked in the financial district. Friendly and Fast service. I had the Chicken Gyro with the hot sauce, very good! Combo comes with fries and a drink. Good lunch size. Plenty of beverage choices too. If you’re an eater think about getting two Gyros. It’s worth it.

I’ve tried this place twice and both times were meh. The first time I had a gyro platter and the meat’s texture was off and flavor was just so-so. The 2nd time, I got Greek fries, which seemed amazing on the menu but in reality, it was under seasoned and pretty bland despite all the great toppings. It’s not worth going back.

The Mediterranean platter here skews mushy on a scale from mushy to firm. Its a vegetarian platter so there was no grilled meat to balance out the overall textures on the plate. However, it was still pretty good. The Mediterranean plate came with two falafels, hummus, baba ghanoush, a small lettuce salad with vinaigrette dressing, two dolmas, some slices of cucumber, tahini sauce and hot sauce, and some pitas to dip in all of it. Everything seemed pretty fresh. My favorite was the falafel — nice and crisp on the outside, soft inside but not mushy. Perfect! From going through some of the other reviews, it seemed that this place was on the decline. However they are either righting the ship or I was lucky. Either way, they’ve earned at least a return trip and a positive review. I’d happily give this mushy plate of food a solid recommendation.

Good gyros and falafels at a reasonable price with super-friendly service. In addition to being flavorful, the gyros are well constructed and less messy to eat than most. I love the combo(chicken, lamb & beef) gyro, which also comes with tomatoes, red onions and tahini wrapped in a lavash. Four small tables and counter stools for nine, which is not a lot of seating. But there are always open tables — if you’re the rare worker be who can afford to not fly back to the hive to eat. A great place to grab lunch for $ 7-$ 10.

They put fries INSIDE of your gyro wrap! I don’t think I could’ve been happier. Except if it had been a little bigger. That would’ve been nice. Otherwise, the food was DELICIOUS. I’m always looking out for inexpensive lunch options in the FiDi. Locali is close to the office, you can order online(for a quick, no-fuss pick-up) AND it’s deliciously filling. Lines can get pretty long, so I definitely recommend placing your order ahead of time and then walking up to pick up your order instead of putting up with the additional wait time. Honestly, other than the size of the wrap, I have no real complaints. If they up the size by even just a little bit, I’d be a totally happy camper.

VERY disappointed the past couple times i have came back here… the last time i was here i was didn’t get what i ordered and was too far away to bother to come back… Today(11÷1÷13) I let the cashier know what happen last time and she assured they would get my order correct today … so i ordered the Chicken Gyro and asked to make it a combo… now any other time i asked for a combo(any where) the order comes with fries & drinks. as i am waiting for my order, one of his cookers hands me just a gyro wrap… i let him know i ordered fries with that. The cashier then said I’m sorry i thought you asked for the beef, chicken & lamb… now if you know me, you know i am very picky. Being pregnant my taste buds have changed and now don’t eat what i used too… sooooo i was pretty disappointed. On top of the extra wait, i leave to eat. Then FIND small HAIRS in my to go box… that is DISGUSTING! if you don’t believe me then go into my Unilocal pic’s. it was like broken dead ends … i am sorry to say but i will not be returning.

Honestly not sure what to think. I wish I had a good experience but I don’t think I will be back. I came in here via my GoDish app and wanted a kefta plate. The lady apologized but said she would honor the price with the gyro plate. No prob, I just wanted food. Pros: cheap, good salad, good size portion Cons: meat was dry and salty and I don’t like feeling like I need to douse it with hummus and yogurt and drink lots of water. Is it just me? Pita was also kind of hard. Was not a fan. Also there’s this one guy who works there who has a habit of kicking the chairs to push them in… Uh okay… I know you’re busy but can’t you just push? Maybe better to go take-out with this one.

I didn’t even know Locali existed, and I’ve been working just a block away from it for the past year. It’s closer to me than my old standby, the Oasis Grill(review: ), and frankly I like Locali better. It’s just a shoebox of a place but seems hidden from view, which may explain why I rarely run into a long line here(photo: ). The young guy at the cashier, and there are a couple of different ones, is always friendly even if it feels a bit on auto-pilot. The overhead chalkboard menu offers plenty of breakfast and lunchtime options with bagels and sandwiches galore, but my eye always zeroes in on the gyros(photo: ). There are five choices: a standard gyros, a chicken version, the super-size upgrades of both, and for vegheads, a falafel in a pita. They range from $ 6.30 to $ 7.31, so prices are really reasonable to grab and go, which I’ve done several times. I tend to go for the Super Gyros which has shards of beef and lamb, hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and tahini wrapped in a lavash(photo: ) It’s terrifically hearty, no-frills Mediterranean. When I’m having an especially bad day, I kick in the extra buck for the steaming hot krinkle fries(photo: ). Good stuff with no fuss, and I can be back at my desk in twenty minutes flat. Oompah! FOOD — 4 stars… lots of meaty volume in their gyros wraps, good eats AMBIANCE — 3 stars… I’ve seen bigger walk-in closets on «House Hunters» SERVICE — 3.5 stars… aggressively sunny and motor-mouthed TOTAL — 4 stars… fast, filling and easy… what more could I want?
