Long Overdue

I’ve been seeing Frank since I decided to try a mohawk years ago. Life is short so one should try things! I decided to grow it out after having very short hair for many years. I asked Frank for ideas about color, which was a big deal because I had never colored my hair before. The color came out great. Trust his vision and he will never steer you wrong. I appreciate his perfectionist tendencies, also.

Frank is a great stylist and a great person. My hair always looks terrific after a visit. I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

Frank knows how to cut hair. I recently had my haircut by Frank, and it’s one of the best (if not the best) haircuts I have ever had (and that rarely happens on the first cut). He’s takes his time, is so attentive to detail, and overall a really nice guy — the perfect combination. I would give him 20 stars if they had that high of a rating! At this point, he’s the only one I would trust cutting my hair.

The profile photo here needs to be updated. The lady pictured sold this business many years ago. It is now owned by Frank Reyes, and he is the sole stylist. The shop is small with one chair, but it is a comfortable environment. My previous stylist of 25 years had died and I was on the lookout for a new one. I couldn’t have made a better choice. Frank is a true professional with a good eye for style. I told him I wanted a change, and trusted him to do the right thing. He gave me the best haircut I’ve had in years. He takes pride in his work, and is fastidious to detail. I have been a loyal client for some time now, and I highly recommend him.

I’ve been trying to grow out my fried, over-​processed curly hair for a while now, and always put off haircuts fearing the inevitable: the stylist telling me I have to take off way more than I want to, or worse yet– just going ahead and doing it!
Frank is a magician.
He somehow got all of the frazzled split ends off with out taking off any length!
My hair looks so much healthier and I didn’t lose months of progress on growing it out. He styled me with big barrel curls to go out on the town with, which received lots of compliments.
Looking forward to being back in his chair for some layers and balayage in the new year!

Frank is now my go to guy for hair. Just today someone asked if I go somewhere really expensive for my cuts. Which is even more amazing when one considers that my last cut was around my bday at the end of January, early Feb maybe. I’m still getting compliments and its ³⁄₂₀! Frank knows how to deal with curls, which is key, and he’s also just a fabulous person so its always fun to check in with him. I don’t know why I ever went anywhere else. ;)
OG review:
Frank did a beautiful job on an updo for a costume party; I’d gotten a rec from a friend while looking for some help on a cold wave/​finger wave look. It took some time, because my hair was a bit longer at that time… but it was well worth it. Truly gorgeous, and he did a quick trim too for a very reasonable price. Well worth the trip over to the Castro, and Frank can deal w curly girls; I can attest to that. :)

I found out about Frank through Unilocal and y’all didn’t lie. He’s great. I am not usually the type to stick to one hair guy but I think Frank is a keeper. Before he did anything we had a conversation about what I wanted and then he explained exactly what he was going to do. I really appreciated how candid he was. I left feeling and looking great, which is the point, right? It’s easy to find a barber who will give you the standard 15 minute buzzcut. That’s not Frank. He takes his time and clearly loves his craft. In this day and age, I find that terribly refreshing. Make an appointment, you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic colorist and excelling cuts too. Frank really listens to what you want. I told him the colors that had been used in the past that I liked and he spent a fair amount of time the day before researching those colors to match them as close as possible and he did a great job. I have long hair too and he did a great job. Frank is really easy to be with too. All around GREAT guy, highly recommend him.

I am heavily pregnant and wanted to get a jump on a sexy new MILF look to get my vanity through the last few weeks. Frank came highly recommended by one of my best friends, but she’s a curly girl and my hair is straight, so I wasn’t sure how it would go. I showed him a photo and described what I was going for — messy rock ‘n’ roll glam — but told him to feel free to take liberties with what he thought would work for me.
Frank has great attention to detail and continued to make small adjustments even after styling as he noticed ways it could work even better. At many junctions, he paused to ask about length and shape to make sure what I’d be happiest with. He is completely customer-​centered, very personable, and makes the whole experience a pleasure. I also like the focused vibe of his small, one-​man studio.
The result is completely fab. Even more like what I wanted than the photo, and very tailored to my face. It’s really buoyed up my confidence despite my temporary hugosity, and I’m looking forward to getting fighting fit again to do the sassy new style justice. I will be trusting Frank to keep me MILFy for years to come.

Love getting my haircut and having it look good. If I am not happy with a cut, even if it is exactly what I asked for, I move on to the next barber (hair whore I know!).
Short hair, receding hairline, affinity for flattops high-​and-​tights and precise cuts. Even though I don’t have a lot of hair, I am picky about what I have left.
The past couple of years, I found myself hopping around from barber to barber in search of that elusive «perfect cut»…but never quite finding the right match. Previous barbers accused my hair of not being «trained right» for a high-​and-​tight after wearing a flat top for 20 years. My roaming resulted in uneven cuts, hairs sticking up where they didn’t belong, and cuts that didn’t instill confidence or esteem. I was ready to give up and buy a flow bee, but then…
.last Valentine’s day, I won a gift certificate that Frank donated to a charity. Score! I love good deals! Who in the heck would donate a haircut to charity?
Was so pleasantly surprised by Frank’s demeanor and attention to detail. He listened to what I wanted and discussed options. I had a bad habit of insisting on cuts that might not work for me but look great on others. This resulted in less than pleasing results. Frank takes pride in his craft If you ask him to do something that might be unflattering, he will assertively yet kindly give you his honest opinion and suggest other options that will result in the perfect «hair do» rather than «hair don’t».
The experience: Frank, instead of blaming my hair of not having proper training and elocution, gave me an excellent haircut — every hair was in place and I felt great walking out the door. Super-​nice included service: Frank washed and dried my hair after the cut — no hairs stuck to my forehead or shirt! He also took care of wild eyebrow and mustache hairs men of a certain age start to get. He rechecked the cut after the wash for that perfect look. WIN! No having to run home to take a shower — I was ready to hit the town.

I highly recommend Frank. Not only is he a talented stylist and barber, he is a great conversationalist and provides excellent value and makes sure you look and feel great before you leave the salon. As Vidal Sassoon put it, If we don’t look good, you don’t look good!

This place is amazing! I used to jump from place to place until here. Frank is one of the best barber’s I have ever met. I now go to him constantly and have been going here for almost a year. He always makes sure to do exactly what you want and takes great care in making it perfect. I’ve never seen someone have so much attention to detail when it comes to hair cuts. He’s not afraid to try something new and always likes a good challenge. I’ve never had my hair dyed with him, but I wouldn’t shy away from it for one second.
Not only does he do a great haircut but Frank is just an amazing guy to be with. He not only ends up cutting your hair but becomes a trusted friend by the end of it. He always has good music in the back and is a very good conversationalist. (And on days you don’t wanna talk he stays more quiet which is nice =P)
