Ready for a classic american diner experience we ordered root beer floats, spag meatballs and lasagne. No water was offered or delivered, first sign of something amiss. Only 4 small meatballs on plate with undercooked plain bread taking up most of the plate where more spagetti and meatballs should have been. is this a food cutback? Lasagne wasn’t heated through and margarine instead of butter with dinner rolls. No salad. it is extra? Overpriced in my opinion. will not be returning. On advising the waiter he replied.“it is better for breakfast.” Not a great answer when we were there for dinner at a 24 hour restaurant.

Looks are deceiving… as cool as this dinner looks on the outside, beware of the food :( I love old school diners! From the looks of it outside, and as I walked in, the cool décor convinced me that I should give this place a try. I was immediately seated. The restaurant itself offers a ton of seating and it is very clean. The staff was so attentive and served us waters, coffee and such right away. As I browsed the menu, it was your typical diner menu, nothing special at all. We ordered the basics, eggs, a side of french toast, omelets, burgers and fries. For a family of 4 with no soda’s, we spent close to $ 85. Seriously! Seriously overpriced. Its no wonder they do not show the prices on the menu online… sketchy! I wouldn’t mind if the food was good, but it was not. Everything we ordered tasted as if it was frozen dinners that was warmed up. In addition, the portions were so tiny. If you are looking for a good old diner experience, come here. However, if you are looking for a good hearty meal, I would recommend going somewhere else.

This is one of a handful of Lori’s Diners located in San Francisco(and at SFO). It offers the typical diner fare, but accompanies it with a 50s style décor and tons of collectibles. The most recent addition to the collection that I’ve noticed was a new guitar for the Elvis statue. The food is decent, but is definitely very overpriced. You’re really paying for the location in Union Square. That said, the staff is extremely friendly. The real draw for this place, assuming you’re not a time period junkie, is that it is open 24⁄7 and is a good spot for a late night snack. As such, if you come in here on a weekend night, you’ll be probably be greeted by an avalanche of people after the bars close.

Very good burgers and good food! The environment is very nice with all the 50’s styling. This is my 3rd time here and I have always been well served — and they are quick! 5 to 10 min and I my food was ready with everything exactly the way I asked for.

Came here with my mama before our hair appointments, I would consider it a pretty standard diner. I got the fish and chips, seemed frozen but still not bad haha and my mom got the spaghetti, she said it was pretty good and she is pretty picky with her pasta. We also ordered the sampler type appetizer and again, pretty standard. The employees were all nice and our waitress was attentive. The location itself is pretty interesting, lots of cool decorations and the car near the bar area was pretty neat.

Fantastic corned beef hash and eggs. A very hearty meal. Not to keen on paying for employee health care as a tax to my bill, but whatever.

On a busy SF corner. Typical diner, 50’s style. You walk in and hopefully there isn’t a wait. As you go further inside you realize, this place is BIG! 3 rooms of dining. Breakfast was breakfast, nothing to go crazy about. I was able to order off the lunch menu which can be nice. Standard fare. The servers were either too attentive or not there, not much in between. I felt a little rushed in the end since there was a line at the door.

Came here one day after work around 11pm. When we both enter the restaurant my honey and I notice that the restaurant is a very tourist atmosphere chain. The food is decent, nothing special. But the severs are very friendly which I like the most about it. Would I come back? Yes I would. Although, the only thing I wish they could do is to make the food more appealing since it is a tourist restaurant.

Good coffee! They say start with a positive, it’s all downhill from there. The waitress came up, asked if we were ready to order food as soon as we sat down. I looked at my menu and said I’d like to order an appetizer to start. My son nudged me and said«she’s gone». Literally ten minutes later a busser took our drink order. He did a great job BTW. After he brought our drinks the lady came back and said«oh, did he get your drinks?» She then said«as I was walking away I think I heard you say you wanted an appetizer». This was 10 – 15 minutes after the fact. I said«I did, I don’t now.» After we ordered, the food came out fast. Over cooked but fast. In summary, drink the coffee, don’t order the meatloaf!

Very busy place. Friendly service. Good foods. Nice decorations. Can be pricey. If you stay next door at the Cartwright hotel, they will give you a coupon that is 20% off but I forgot to use it.

Lori’s Diner is a great pit stop after a night of drinking and developing mad cravings for comfort food. The fact that it is open 24 hours makes this place a hot spot near Union Square. I opted for something light since we did walk in closer to midnight. I had the BLT + avocados and french fries. The sandwich was satisfying. All the ingredients were fresh and bacon was crispy!

A good place to go for the late night munchies after clubbing or hitting the local bars. Being open 24hrs helps when you’re looking for decent food and everything else is closed. We had very good service from the wait staff to the security guard. The food was ok, pretty typical for a diner. Tasted very similar to Dennys but not as pricey as a Dennys in downtown SF. Coffee was fresh and the food was cooked right. The portion sizes are good and filled me up. I recommend Lori’s if you’re looking for late night grub and dont mind the crowds after 11pm.

Lori’s Diner is open 24⁄7 and looks like a typical 50ies Diner out of a movie. The employees were nice and friendly and our breakfast was more than enough. Free Coffee refills, a good chocolate milk and a solid breakfast to start the day without spending a fortune in downtown San Francisco. Everything was clean, our orders were taken right away and the food came in a good time. Nothing to worry about and I would come back.

I came here as a LAST resort because everywhere was so packed on Black Friday. We were all starving and literally down to eat anything at this point. We were seated immediately, which made me happy. However, we were seated in the way back corner of the diner, which I felt was not so great since our waitress would never check up on us. The food was pretty basic diner food. Nothing too special. I ordered the Denver Omelette with a side of hash browns and wheat toast. It was good probably because I was starving, but it was so expensive for what it was. Almost $ 13 without tip and tax. Would I come here again? Eh, only if I was forced to!

This place had a lot of people when I visited and I wouldn’t say it’s the food people come for, but the diner feel instead. It’s very tourist-trappy. My group and I decided to come here because it didn’t seem to have a wait(it was Black Friday, btw). We were seated immediately. Nothing really pops out on the menu, pretty standard diner food. I’d check some of the Unilocal pictures out to get a better visual of what the food will look like. I got the signature burger. Standard burger, but it was so filling that I ended up not eating dinner that night. It’ definitely pricey though… My burger was about $ 14. If this was a $ 9 – 10 burger that would’ve be great. But it’s in the heart of SF and so close to Union Square so they probably need to have high prices to stay afloat.

Everyone’s experiences are different, but I do wish I could give 5 stars, but 3 is good enough. Walked in with my friend, another couple was standing in line, seated within 5 minutes which wasn’t necessary because there was 3 waiters standing behind the register. . First waiter took our drink order, really mono tone. Second waitress took our food order, smiled, nice, pretty girl. Food came within 5 to 8 minutes, and it was good. That’s all, it was good. No one came and ask is the food okay? are we doing okay? Ate around 15 minutes, waitress came by our table and set down our bill–«no rush but I’ll just have this here» I know it’s no rush literally, but I felt rushed. We weren’t even half way done with our food and the BILLFORUSTOPAY is literally sitting there.. . I will be back to eat though, it’s a fun and chill place. After clubbing ad drunken nights. :)

The atmosphere in here is very neat and diner-ish. Loved the decorations and funky feel of the place. We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning and had about a five minute wait. When we were leaving there was a line out the door. We waited about 10 minutes for our server, but she was friendly and attentive even though she was in the weeds. The food was good. Nothing fancy, but about what you would expect from a diner. I had the veggie omelet and the veggies were fresh and crisp. My only complaint was the sourdough bread wasn’t really sourdoughy, but more like regular bread. I would have loved a bit more bite to it. The hash browns were the best, very crisp and not too greasy.

There can be a line up for Lori’s Diner, especially on the weekend but we went for a weekday lunch and found no line up. We were seated in a booth near the back by the old Ford. There’s also a pinball machine and jukebox in the restaurant to keep people entertained while waiting for their food. The props include old radios along the wall. A guy came to take our drink orders and he had to replace my mug twice as they were both dirty. I decided on Lori’s omelet which came with bacon, green onions, mushrooms, tomatoes & cheese. I didn’t want the shredded hash browns so paid a little more for chunky potatoes. My omelet was decent and potatoes a little greasy but good. I was too full to have finish my toast but it was nice there was readily available jam on the table. The portions are big here so one meal might be enough for 2 as my table mates found out when they ordered the meatloaf which came with 2 pieces of meat, bread, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. We took almost a full meal back to the hotel fridge so they could eat another time. When it was time to pay, we brought our bill to the front counter and gave them the paper from the hotel which gave us a 20% discount. Decent diner food.

Stopped by Lori’s with about 10 others after a conference I was attending in SF ended for the evening. Was surprised how big the restaurant was inside. It looks small from the outside but there are plenty of tables. They were able to accommodate our large party on a busy Saturday evening jus ok. The friendly waitress was nice enough to do separate checks for our large party. The menu is huge with a lot of choices. I went with their bacon cheeseburger and fries. To my disappointment burger was a bit dry and lacking in flavor. The fries were excellent, as was their ranch dressing.

Back to the 60ies!

An all-american diner that will attract a lot of tourists. I had a bowl of chili there for lunch which I found to be quite dull. Came back with some friends for dinner for some burgers — those were okay, but nothing special. I liked the atmosphere of the place but the food overall was«just» okayish. don’t be afraid to give it a try when you’re in the area, but there definitely are better places our there.
