Nick Lukas works out of a studio on the top of the obscure hill that I-280 passes through just north of where it splits with 101(down near the old Goodmans Lumber). You may have noticed a funky hilltop building with colorful panes of stained glass that say, indeed, Lukas Stained Glass. This guy is an old school artisan, trained from his father(from what I gathered in conversation). His multilevel studio could charge admission as a working gallery. Nick will construct work to any specification. We used him to replace/duplicate large 83 year old leaded glass windows that were hopelessly leaking, and to craft similarly modeled glass into cabinets as part of a kitchen remodel. But his studio contained an enormous range of creativity. Nick’s rates are reasonable, his work is high art.
