It’s a sports bar! What I like best about this spot is the food: sweet potato fries and an awesome veggie burger! and the fact that you can order from your seat, the service is good and can be slow depending on how crowded it gets. Definitely a popular and busy spot with a lot of tourists and transplants.

This bar is super spacious, perfect for watching a game. However, the serving sizes for apps are tiny. Beware the«nachos», which are a sad excuse for the real deal. There are literally 4 tortillas on a big empty plate, but cost you 9 bucks. Otherwise, beer and TVs, so go for it.

Top 5 burgers in SF is what the sign said, and what made me walk inside and actually try this«top 5 burger». Wowzers, the sign didn’t lie, that had to have been the best burger I’ve ever tasted! RECOMMEND! RECOMMEND! RECOMMEND! SERVICE: The service was fantastic, our waitress was very helpful explaining everything we needed and wanted to know about this place(HQ, is no longer the name). They gave us the run around about the menu, the drinks, and even about the Game night. Made sure we were enjoying our food, and our waters were always filled to the top! FOOD: Top 5 burgers in SF is the truth– I can’t remember the burger I had. But it had sriracha sauce, and bacon jam both in between the buns. The burger itself was so freaking delicious, tender, and very very flavorful the side of fries were a cherry on top! LOCATION: It’s in a prime location on Haight street, right next door the Diamond store, sock world is next door, Keizar is up the street. It’s on the Main Street of Haight! I definitely recommend this lovely establishment

Walked in and no one was behind the bar, waited about 5 minutes, I saw a girl outside with a bar towel in her back pocket who was talking to some people so I’m assuming she was the bartender. There were other people at the bar with empty glasses and plates of food that were finished. Finally just walked out right past her and she didn’t even notice. I work in a bar myself so I don’t think I’m overreacting, super unprofessional

Bomb ass fries! Nice little spot to catch a game, grab a bite and/or drink if you’re in the area. Free WI-FI doesn’t hurt!

Okay, this is a great spot for a lot of different reasons. It’s really good food on Haight. They have a generous variety of taps, a comfortable spot to watch a Giants game, and there’s a nice banquet area that’s perfect for events. The sweet potato fries and the signature burger(with bacon jam) rate 5-stars. We often talk wistfully about when we’ll be able to go back there.(probably baseball season) I can’t believe I haven’t yet tried their brick chicken or shepherd’s pie. It’s on my bucket list now.

I come here every week for trivia and love it, understand it’s 47 outside, everyone in the bar was wearing a coat seriously turn the damn heat on we are all freezing kind of irritated that no one was able to fix this. No one is going to hang at a bar when it’s almost the same temperature as outside.

I don’t drink, but I did come to trivia night every week for months and every week I had the burger, EVERYFRIGGINWEEK… and I never got sick of it. I absolutely suck-it at trivia, so I’m pretty sure I was just there for the burger. I don’t exactly know what about it makes it so addictive, but its some combination of the Sriracha aioli, splatter-your-shirt juiciness, artery-clogging-cheesiness, some sort of english muffin-y textured bun that soaks up all of the above, and I strongly suspect crack cocaine. Average number of napkins used each time: 8. Best burger in SF.

We were walking around Haight-Ashbury and were looking for a place to eat and ultimately decided on Martin Macks. We first went in based on the amount of people inside. We had forgotten that it was the Womens’ World Cup Semifinal and people were here to watch the game. It was a great atmosphere as the women won and the place was rocking. Aside from the atmosphere the food was excellent. The mack burger would be in my top ten burgers for sure. As long as you’re not sticking to the organic vegan type of menu, Macks is your spot.

Had the pleasure of coming across this place earlier this afternoon. The beer selection was great! I’m a Guinness girl myself so I was pleased they had it and that it was poured correctly. I was a little iffy on some menu items but my waitress Angie was so helpful and offered her input. I landed on the fish and chips and I was not disappointed! They were absolutely delicious! Angie was so attentive and very outgoing which I find is a rare thing in San Francisco. Mack’s is lucky to have her! I will certainly be visiting again!

Angie was our waitress and she was wonderful. She suggested the fish n chips and they were incredible. Best I’ve had in the city, and she’s possibly one of the sweetest and more personable waitresses I’ve encountered in SF! Thanks Angie for chatting with us and sharing your Irish culture.

Cool little neighborhood joint w your run-of-the-mill bar food. The hot wings were on point though. I wish they had a larger non alcoholic beer selection but whatchya gonna do?

Across the Bay Area, we are in the midst of Dub Nation excitement. Even basketball novices like myself enjoy the camaraderie of catching a game at a sports bar. Consider Martin Macks tonight for the Warriors game. Great Bloody Mary’s, a decent selection of NorCal craft beers on tap, TV’s all over the place, quite a bit of seating by SF standards, and chicken wings. With Ranch. What else would you want? Get there a bit early, nab a table, order some wings and a pitcher to get the full Martin Macks experience. There are servers who check on the table every now and again, but if you get super impatient, the bartenders can also help. Not sure why else one would hang out here unless it’s to check out some sort of televised sporting match — soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc. But hey, what do I know? I’m just a girl who drinks wine and likes the occasional Buffalo Chicken sandwich.

Excellent service even when busy; delicious food. Much better than Barrelhead for service and burgers. Plus I walked in once and they gave me a free sample of a cocktail, like those awesome grocery stores.

Trivia night here on Tuesdays is super fun. Their special burger with the bacon is a great way to get warmed up for trivia. I wasn’t a huge fan of their nachos which are individual chips with toppings versus the traditional version with a big pile of chips and lots of topping.

You just lost a star. When a game is going on you’re too crowded. But, it’s not about that. The bartender got in an argument with someone, and pushed his way out of the bar with his friends backing him up. It was déjà vu because a good friend of mine got 86ed from this bar when he commented on the same bartender’s friends having a few beers lined up. They took offense and told the bartender. Absolutely ridiculous. The owner and this same bartender should be ashamed of themselves.

My experience at Mack’s was limited to a Bloody Mary and Irish Coffee but the Irish Coffee was as Drake would put it… the«best I ever had». The Bloody Mary had pickled green beans that were both unique and tasty.

Oh, Martin Mack’s, how I love thee on trivia night. Could it be the thirst quenching ciders that tickle my fancy just so? Or is it that juicy burger with sriracha aioli that draws me inside? Perhaps it’s Dave and his magical music round that keeps me coming back for more? Yeah, it’s actually all of those things. I’ve been to Martin Mack’s in the past for some sports watchin’ and it’s not bad for that. It’s a huge place and has several TVs, albeit not enough TVs for me think it’s an optimal spot to watch my Warriors, Giants, or Niners play. The reason I’ve been going to Martin Mack’s recently is for Tuesday night Trivia. I’ve been to other trivia nights around SF and Martin Mack’s has got them all beat. It’s surprisingly«official» with legit booklets for writing your answers as well as a picture round and a fill-in-the-blanks round. Basically there are 6 rounds for you to rack up points to pull out that Big W and they give out 4 main prizes! First and second place obviously get a prize but you can also get a prize if you’re the best small team(teams of 4 or fewer) or if you’re the«Perfectly Average» team, which I think is awesome. Plus, there are so many chances throughout the evening to win individual prizes like free beers or bottle openers. Really awesome overall trivia experience. But I can’t end the review without giving a shout out to my main man, Cameron the Server. Just kidding, he’s not my main man, he doesn’t even know my name. But it did take him all of one time serving me to remember what I drink, so that makes him a keeper in my book. And I can’t hate a bar or restaurant that has cool people working there, so keep it up, Young Cameron; you have made many a fan on trivia night.

Martin Mack’s definitely has one of the best Bloody Mary’s around. It had a nice amount of vodka and had just enough spice to give it that oomph without giving you heart burn. I loved all the garnishes, but the green beans were probably my favorite. This is a cozy sports pub that had a tasty sounding menu, but unfortunately I didn’t get to try any since I had eaten right before. Maybe next time!

Yet another spot I’ve been to many times but never remember the name of, Martin Mack’s offers great food, reasonably priced drinks, and fun trivia(Tuesday nights). I had one of the best Reuben’s of my life here one lovely afternoon as my roommate shopped and her boyfriend and I played cards and drank Bloody Marys. Last night I went back for trivia, and my team got 2ndPLACE! What What! We gots smarts, yo. Spacious interior, festive for the holidays, nice staff, convenient location and parking(depending on what time you go). A good time was had by all!

Martin Mack’s is perhaps a bit underrated. They won me over with their Mack Burger. My neighbor sold me on it when I told him I’m picky. He said coming from the midwest, he knows his burgers, and this one is a taker. The meat was well-seasoned and it came medium-rare; I ordered it rare, but this was A-ok and not surprising. Sandwiched with ciabatta, doused with a spicy aioli, blanketed with a sharp cheddar, and then topped with sweet tangy caramelized onions(worcestershire sauce?)…ugh. Heart attack waiting to happen. I suggest splitting if you’re a light eater. If you like meat though you’ll love this booger – I mean – burger. Don’t forget to top it off with some vodka shots too. Literally, *bangs head*.
