Really great sushi bar I stumbled upon over the weekend. I sat at the sushi bar and was greeted by friendly and professional staff. They have a great selection of hot and cold sake, and someone to help you if you’re not familiar with them. The one I tried had heavy floral notes and was delicious(coincidentally their best seller so ask for that because I’ve forgotten the name!). I had a house salad and gyoza to start and the cherry blossom roll. The roll itself is beautiful and shaped like, well, you guessed it! I have always thought of sushi chefs as artists and these two were nothing short. Extremely meticulous and patient, cutting the smallest blemishes off of the fish and ensuring perfect size and shape to every roll and plate. Needless to say, it was very entertaining to watch! And if you’re not into watching that, they do have a T.V. and big windows for people watching. The menu is impressive and the ambiance is casual and inviting. Definitely worth a stop by! They actually forgot to put my gyoza order in so it came after I had finished the sushi, but was almost like dessert! It was cooked just perfectly and kept me from totally pigging out on more sushi — which is not hard to do!

Food: So, my 3-star rating is for the ambiance and service mostly. Perhaps their other dishes are yummy, but the sushi was really unimpressive. We came during happy hour which offers some discounted drinks and simple sushi rolls for about $ 5. We had a spicy salmon roll and a Chef’s Special roll. The quality of the sushi looked like someone new was in the kitchen. The sushi rice was spotty and falling off. The taste of the spicy salmon roll was good though. The Chef’s roll is what really disappointed. There was really no description of what was on it by the waitress but it appeared to be shrimp tempura, some veggies, and then imitation crab that was soaked in some kind of red sauce. It wasn’t pretty and the flavor was lacking. What’s more is that the roll is one of their most expensive($ 18) and it really didn’t seem like it was worth that. Ambiance: This place isn’t huge, but it’s relatively spacious and can accommodate a decent number of smaller parties(2 – 4). It’s clean and has a large sushi bar. Service: The service here was great. They give you really tiny glasses for
