Unethical worker! I bought two tamales here — an order well under 10 dollars. I wanted quick meal that didn’t cost too much for sf standards. I saw and signed the receipt that had the accurate amount on it… when it showed up on my bank statement I was overcharged by 20 dollars. The only explanation I can think of is that the worker wrote in more money for my tip amount on the receipt.

Fantastic Mexican food that really hit the spot. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the food came quickly. I highly recommend the chilaquiles, of which they were kind enough to make mine vegetarian. Would come again.

Hands down my favorite taqueria in The Mission! Super friendly staff, and the owner is very hands on, warm and accommodating. So far I have only eaten the tacos, flautas, and ceviche. All very delicious! The ingredients are fresh, and the tortillas are made in house… superb! The restaurant is spotless, kitchen open(nothing to hide), and the bathrooms always clean! Bring family and friends, you won’t be disappointed!

First time in since the new management took over. Very pleased with our Mexican breakfasts. Delish meundo and posole. And they continue to make awesome homemade tortillas!!! Our waitress was very nice and attentive.

They don’t serve Tamales any more. What— why!!! I just called to order some and the guy told me «no more.»

Was walking by and decided to get some tamales because they had a sign for 12 styles of tamales. Cashier said if I got a dozen it would be $ 24, $ 2 each, regular price is $ 3 ea! On the menu they have: beef pork chicken spinach cheese & rajas bean & cheese squash & carrot I got I got: cheese & rajas chicken bean & cheese squash & carrot Will try them soon. Charged it. Their reusable bag is Crap! make sure they don’t put a dozen tamales in their crappy bag, luckily I had my own which is way stronger. They have a good size dining room w/at least 2 TVs. Happy Hr M-F 4−6pm Free appetizers while they last

Very good breakfast, me and my husband throughly enjoyed the food and friendly service. The retaurant has cute décor and is very clean and cozy. I would recommend this spot for a good homemade meal.

I live two block away. Been going to el farolito for awhile and realized the food there sucks. So I decided to venture out and what did I find. Mis Antojitos is so damn Good! It’s the rice. The rice really makes it. The girls that work there are always friendly. My only complaint. Is the paint on the windows. They could really open the place up and make it more welcoming if they took all that stuff off the window. The mission is changing and you gotta adapt. Grow with the city. Don’t let it grow over you.

Love the ceviche tostadas! They really pile it on, and at only $ 3 a piece, I’m full for $ 6. I’ve also tried their flautas(chicken and potato), nice and crispy, very good. On Saturdays, they do have $ 6 beer specials and I tried the $ 4 margarita. Yikes, worst margarita I’ve ever had. The mix they use tastes like what I’d imagine windex would taste like. So I’ll stick to the food, which is fantastic and the service is great too, so still a solid 4 stars in my book.

OK, I give up. Why are there only 28 Unilocal reviews when it’s been in operation for nearly eight years? Is it really because of its weird residential location at the corner of 22nd and Harrison in what looks to be a condo building(photo: )? It is two long blocks to 24th and about six to Mission, so I guess that may be part of the reason. Probably overshadowed by the pair of San Buena taco trucks parked outside, the paucity of reviews is still surprising. After years of walking and driving by it without giving pause, I glimpsed a sandwich board that simply stated they served menudo and pozole seven days a week. Ah, that finally convinced me to try it since most other places only make menudo on the weekends and very often only when they feel like it. So I arrived on a Saturday morning just as they opened at 10AM, and the regular barflies were already parked on their stools. For $ 9.99, I ordered a bowl of their Menudo and have to admit it’s one of the better ones I’ve had in the city. If I was Christopher Kimball on America’s Test Kitchen, I would tell taste tester Jack that it runs neck-and-neck with the bowl served at Mexico Tipico in the Excelsior and the one served at San Jalisco close by on South Van Ness. It has a lot to do with the two huge shank bones they place in the bowl giving the broth its gelatinous texture and also the plethora of tripe(photo: ). They are not stingy with the ingredients and with the dried chili peppers, it has the right kick to make the back of my neck sweat profusely(photo: ). The small but thick tortillas are fresh and steaming hot(photo: ), and the cilantro, chopped white onion and lime wedges seal the deal. On my first visit, I also tried the $ 3 Tacos a Mano de la Casa — one Pork, the other Chicken(photo: ). They were fine chasers especially when doused with the salsa verde that came with the rainbow chips at the beginning of the meal(photo: ). On my second trip a little over a week later, I tried their house specialty, the $ 2.50 Tamales — again, one Pork, the other Chicken — both with pico de gallo ladled on top(photo: ). They were a tad overcooked but not too badly, nothing a little mole couldn’t have fixed and that was one of the optional sauces. But frankly, I was too busy enjoying my Menudo again to notice really. By the way, where were the customers? Oh yeah, 28 reviews. FOOD — 4 stars… a stellar bowl of menudo and available 7 days a week to boot AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… frankly like how quiet and empty it is on a weekend morning SERVICE — 4 stars… nice and attentive TOTAL — 4 stars… genuinely overlooked find if you ask me

I have to say, food here is pretty much ‘just alright’, though customer service is pretty awesome indeed. I must also add that Mis. Antojitos offers a free agua fresca when you check in, the only problem is that the sign is a little misleading, and I almost ignored it! The Mango agua fresca is really quite yummy! I ordered the chicken tamale kids meal, which is a great deal, however I’m known for getting kids meals; standard sized proportions are always so glutinous in size. Unfortunately I needed to put salt on my food, which tells me the food was not seasoned well at all, given I never ever further season my food!

$ 632oz beers on Saturdays! 4 stars just for this. And oh, the tamales are bomb too

pluses: friendly staff, filling cheap food, and great guacamole(tho $ 5 for a serving! more than 2 tamales!!!) minuses: meh mole atop my tamale. sadness cause I love mole. also, as much as I love the taste of the guac, the raw and abundant onions don’t suit my digestion. neither does wheat, and I wonder if I had a reaction to the food cause could the tamales could have been made with some wheat flour and not corn/masa?! I gotta ask next time. bottom line: I’ll go back and try the tamale with another topping! and dessert tamales — hmmmm or mmmmm?

There is too much Mexican food competition in the Mission. This place needs to up its game. The food is average-below average.

The tamales were really good. Well made and the meat was good quality. You can choose a large variety of toppings for them. They have a large variety of tamales. Customer service was pretty good. They are generous with chips and salsa. Chips come with two types of dip.

They are certainly telling the truth with«best tamales in town» written on the window. I came here with the scout mob deal to try out their tamales and gorditas. Both items were amazing. For $ 2 a piece, you can have a hearty meal for less than 6 bucks. They also have some of the best chips and salsa. There is plenty of parking and seating. They have a small bar with quite a few happy hour drink specials where you can watch your favorite sporting even on their multiple TVs. You can also get heir tamales catered to your workplace.

Chocolate tamales. That would be something. We’re not quite there. Unless you mix the delicious chicken mole with one of the«best tamales in the world» at Mis Antojitos. Carrots and squash tamale was great. Unique. Only two bucks. Quite possibly the best. Mixing and mingling happened. It was awesome. Service couldn’t have been nicer, including the cook who checked to see whether the aforementioned tamale had cheese. It did not. Thanks for checking. Took less time for my food to be prepared than the inspection itself. Left not just a fan. A huge fan.

I was immediately charmed by Mis Atojitos. Wall to wall windows give a bright, open, cheerful feel. The murals are awesome. TV’s were broadcasting Gol tv soccer games which is an added bonus of dining in a lot of Latin restaurants. The lady who took my order was just as pleasant as the ambience. Bar seats are too low. I’m a tall guy and they made feel like a kindergardener in need of a booster seat, so I move to a table pretty quick. Meals come with chips and two salsas(tomatillo & roasted red pepper). Chips are crisp and fresh; salsa is excellent. Paired with my delicious strawberry aqua fresca( ) and my dining experience is off to a great start. I ordered the fried fish with beans and rice($ 9) expecting your standard fillet of fish. To my surprise when my food drops I’m greeted by a whole fish( ) grinning at me. It was fresh and delicious. Dash of lemon, throw it into the provided tortillas with rice and beans, and you’re in for a treat. I also ordered some $ 2 tamales( ) to go: chicken, pork, shrimp, and cheese & raja. I’ve yet to try them but I’m sure they’ll be delicious. Can’t wait.
