Get the Mushroom Benedict!!! The eggs are always cooked perfectly and that truffle mornay sauce makes me weep a bit. Their potatoes are addictive, and I always wish there were a few more pieces but such is life. I’ll deal. Coffee is amazing and the mimosas are so tasty. The service is always on point. I tend to come here during the weekdays, so I can’t speak to the waittimes on the weekends. I’ve never had to wait when coming in around 1 – 2 on a random weekday, although the restaurant is always pretty full. Space is very cozy, and you may find yourself very close to your neighbor. But I soon forget about it once that plate is in front of me. Definitely a must-try brunch place in the Mission!

All you need to know is that 1. You need to get yourself to Mission Beach Café and 2. You need to have the bacon and a mimosa. I dined at 11:00 on a Monday and it was bustling. Sign #1 that you’ve stumbled upon a gem. They also serve brunch all throughout the day, so as others have mentioned, if you’re a bruncher, this should be on your radar. I can only imagine this place on the weekend though, so I’m so glad I found it on a Monday! I was sad to learn they’d run out of grapefruit juice, but once my orange mimosa arrived I had totally forgotten. The«small» is a regular wine glass filled to the BRIM for $ 8. A fantastic deal, especially because they are absolutely doing it with fresh squeezed juice and a generous pour of not-too-sweet bubbly. I can’t even form the words to describe the life changing experience of their bacon. Ok I can. It’s extra thick cut, and has a super meaty chew. Not fatty at all, and I *think they’re coating it in brown sugar. I want this bacon all day every day, but my blood pressure is thanking god I live on the opposite coast! Staff were über friendly, and I couldn’t have said goodbye to SFO with a better meal!

Probably the richest french toast I have ever had. The first bite is heaven in your mouth. It looks small at first, but the brioche bread, cream, and fruit on top fills you up quickly. Add an egg on the side for only $ 1!(I got a poached egg — absolutely perfect.) The coffee/hot coco mugs are also super cute and the staff is very nice and helpful! We only waited 10 minutes for a table of 2 for brunch on mid-morning Monday. Worth it!

One of my new fave brunch spots in the city! My friend and I came during peak time so we did have to wait, but it didn’t take longer than 20 mins to our surprise. We were seating at the bar seating near the window so it was perfect since it was such a nice day outside. We ended up going to Mr Holmes that morning so we decided to split an order or their bacon and the mushroom benedict. BESTDECISIONEVER. I love truffle essence so I was happy when this baby was covered in tons of mushrooms, truffle sauce, and a perfectly poached egg. The caramelized onions were a great touch too. The bacon we got was so thick and candied that it went perfect with the benedict we got. Would even come here just to get that! COMEHEREIFYOUCAN. The line is worth it!

This place was AMAZING. My friend and I were freaking out the whole time. We were looking for a good place for brunch and found this on Unilocal & figured let’s try it. Parking was not bad at all(it was a Friday morning). We parked on the street super close. The inside is adorable & we sat next to the doors which were open(it was a nice day). I got the egg sandwhich with no meat and my friend got the French toast. The egg sandwich was for real awesome & my friends friend toast was so amazing. Decent prices(not cheap but not expensive) but such good food!(:

Came by on Tuesday morning for breakfast before heading back to the airport. I believe we came here around 10am and there was no wait. We ordered the brioche french toast, combo breakfast, and one pancake. We got the pomegranate and grapefruit juice as well. The brioche french toast was good! Different than other french toasts that I’ve had because it was very soft and fluffy. The syrup however is too sweet. It tastes like brown sugar maple syrup. It’s good but I wish they gave it to us on the side so that I can control the amount of sweetness. If you love sweets, then it may not bother you. The pomegranate juice was good as well, if you like pomegranate.

This place is probably my favorite brunch spot in the city. The crabby eggs Benedict there is divine! I get it every time it go there now. I have tried a few other items, but always go back to the eggs benedict. They also have pretty amazing mimosas. The only downside is the wait time. It can get pretty packed if you don’t get there early. I also usually have a small party so we tend to get seated faster. If you’re a brunch person this place is a MUSTGO!

Every time I’d gone by there was a crowd waiting so I thought it was a sure thing. Friday around 2pm. Service was great. Food was awful. I mean really bad. We wont be going there again. I ordered the Duck Hash. What I got was chicken or turkey hash in a small bowl. Nothing on the side anywhere. It was bad folks.

Bustling lunch spot, so expect a wait, even if it’s weekday! Menu does change so depending on the day, you’ll maybe catch a seafood Benedict or maybe not! We weren’t as lucky, so the had their mushroom Benedict the day we went. Service was OK, we ordered the truffles fries first as an appetizer as we looked over the menu. I’m sure our server forgot our order as our main dishes came out first before our fries… Anyways, food was good but nothing mind blowing, will wait hours in line for. I had the turkey/avocado sandwich with bacon and a cranberry spread. It was grilled to nicely and had a great buttery crust. We also got the brioche French toast. Which was deeeeevine. Great flavor, delicious fresh whipped cream and a heavy handed pour of maple syrup. Overall, good brunch, but not sure if I’ll spend the wait time for a table.

I would consider myself a brunch expert! I live for it and this place is easily the best brunch I’ve had in SF! Mission Beach Café is small, but doesn’t feel too small inside. Prepare to wait at least a little bit on weekends. Parking on the hill can be tricky. The worst part about Mission Beach is that the ENTIRE menu looks wonderful! Make sure to order a side of the world’s best bacon while you are there! The food is fresh and it all tastes great! Portions are rather large and that’s something to consider. Although you probably won’t want to share… The staff takes a unique approach to service and it works well. Overall, the food is phenomenal and the feel of the whole place is a unique, yet classic feel.

I really did enjoy the food and drinks/coffee here but the lack of personal space takes over the entire experience. Having reasonable personal space while I am eating is a non-negotiable for me. I went here for brunch on a Sunday(Which I realize is the busiest time to go but still) with a party of 3 and though the food was absolutely mouth-watering and to-die-for, I could not fully appreciate it because I was sitting so closely to the people next to me(it does not matter if you sit on the booth side or you’re in a chair). Anyway, the customer service is good and we were seated within 20 minutes of adding our name onto the list. The food came out quickly enough but not all of our meals arrived at the same time. We ordered: Brioche French Toast Mission Beach Huevos Classic Benedict Orange Pomegranate Mimosa Cranberry Mimosa Classic Orange Mimosa All of the above was five stars without a doubt. No complaints here. I would come back here if I had a weekday morning off of work and was one of the first customers to come in.

Get in and order their bacon. Order their truffle fries. Inhale these items sure to line your arteries with not-so-good-goodness and then have a sip of their OJ. Hate yourself, but love the food. lol, that’s how I felt, but I would do it again! This came up at the recommendation of my friend, Dave, and I found the sides more memorable than my main dish(the sausage eggs benedict, which was good). But the side orders of bacon & the truffle fries were just the bommmb to my tastebuds! The bacon is crispy, but they are layered(and I do mean LAYERED) in sugar. So it’s a combination of maple honey sweetness and bacon crispy saltiness. Never have a pair of flavors been married as well as these two. A side comes with I think 4 strips of thickly cut bacon.(I’ve forgotten, and the hubs and I ate it soo fast, we forgot to take a photo. :() The truffle fries are saturated in truffle oil. You know how some menus offer a truffle-something or other on the menu? And when you order it, you become disappointed because nary is there a hint of said truffle oil upon your tongue? Well, not here. These fries are coated in it, and it makes my mouth hum with pleasure. Also, love the shaved parmesan that’s all over it. :) Would come back for more!

The line outside Mission Beach Café always appeared daunting, but last weekend we arrived around 9:10am to write our name on the list and were lucky to be seated in the first round. Miss this first seating and you’re looking at a 40+ minute wait. Long story short: the food was fresh and delicious, but nothing extraordinarily unique. We shared the spinach and mushroom benedict and the Dungeness crab and bay shrimp benedict. The former is a popular choice, as the meaty and flavorful mushrooms married perfectly with the spinach and caramelized onions for a vegetarian-friendly dish. The truffle mornay sauce was fragrant and tasty as well. The latter benedict was wonderful, with a very generous amount of fresh, flakey crab meat and delicate bay shrimp. The lime flavor in the guacamole really brightened up the benedict. The housemade English muffins were dense and chewy, and great with absorbing the creamy, gooey yolk of the perfectly poached eggs. The house potatoes were standard, nothing special. But by far, I must say MBC has one of the best benedicts I’ve eaten. Service was nice, but we weren’t checked up on during our meal. Both the food and check took a while to arrive at our table too. MBC is a small, yet cozy and comfortable restaurant. The food is worth a try if you’re in the area, as MBC is a solid, reliable brunch spot in the city.

The wait was about an hour on a Sunday morning at noon but it wasn’t that bad. We walked across the street to thieves tavern for some bloody Mary’s but should have ordered a coffee while we waited instead. Really cramped seating and decent service. I ordered a green tea chai latte($ 4) and it was pretty bitter and tasted powdery. Not sure why… I’m not sure if they used matcha powder but I wouldn’t order it again. My sisters BF got a bottomless coffee($ 3), which he liked. We ordered truffle fries($ 7), eggs Benedict with crab and shrimp($ 16), classic eggs Benedict($ 14) and brioche toast($ 13). Truffle fries 5⁄5: a good amount of garlic Parmesan with subtle hints of truffle. It came out very hot. Our food came out shortly after. Crab and shrimp Benedict 4⁄5: loaded with guacamole spread but not enough crab. There was quite a bit of shrimp though. The eggs were a little over cooked but that was fine. My sister really enjoyed the Benedict and the potatoes that went with it. brioche French toast 3⁄5: Bread was very soft and the syrup went well with it. There was just enough syrup on it, which is good because I don’t like my french toast super sweet or soggy. I did enjoy it, but it’s definitely not the best french toast I’ve had. The«mixed berries» was a handful of blueberries, 2 pieces of apple(?, could have been pears…) and 2 pieces of strawberries. I was disappointed in the amount of fruit given. Class eggs Benedict 3⁄5: Wasn’t amazing, but the eggs were cooked correctly. I’d say it was just average. The potatoes that went with both benedicts were well seasoned and not too salty. We didn’t finish them though because we wanted to finish off the truffle fries. It didn’t look like much, but we were super full when we were done. When I checked the bill I noticed that they charged $ 8 for the truffle fries. I guess no one realized that they were being overcharged or something because when I asked the guy picking up my check if the fries prices had increased, he said he didn’t know. Someone else came to drop off the check and said it was a pricing mistake or something, so she charged us for a pie since it was $ 7 and the truffle fries in the computer is $ 8. Make sure you check everything to see if it’s correct! Its only $ 1, but I’m sure they’ve sold countless amount of truffle fries… that button needs to be fixed in the computer to reflect the correct price.

Good spot for brunch. I’ve come here twice with my friends in groups of 4 – 5 and didn’t have to wait too long to be seated. PROTIP: order coffee to sip on while you wait. If you get there before 10:30 and jot your name down, it’ll take ~20 minutes to be seated. At least that was our experience. Things to order: — mushroom and spinach Benedict w/truffle oil(another PROTIP: you can substitute the potatoes with an order of truffle fries) — truffle fries — French toast — huge mimosa(literally, that’s the name of it) I swear the first time I ordered the duck hash, it was like normal corned beef hash(not saucy). When I ordered it the second time around, it came out as a stew. Not what I expected, but a good 3.5 stars. Not sure I would order that gravy version again, but definitely would order the traditional corned beef or duck hash.

Got here before they opened and there was still a line! Brunch life in SF is noooo joke even in the winter! Lol. I thought the food here was pretty good but not mindblowing! I got the mushroom spinach benedict and a side of bacon. Both items were great and the coffee was good too. Don’t think I would wait a long time for this but it’s definitely worth trying if you can beat the line.

Amazing eggs benedict and delicious french toast. This place had one of the best benedicts I have ever had, and I have tried many brunch places. The mushroom benedict was super flavorful and egg was cooked perfectly. I ordered a single french toast because I just wanted to try it. It was very tasty. The sauce was kinda sweet, but it was nicely balanced by the cranberries which gave it a bit of tartness to cut down of the sweetness. The whipped marscapone was delightful and made it a complete package. I also ordered a large mimosa($ 12) which was a decent size for the price you pay for. I got a mix of their orange and pomegranate mimosa and it was visually appealing as well as delicious. They put a good amount of champagne in it so they don’t skimp on the alcohol. I came here on a weekday so i cant really vouch for how the wait will be on a weekend. Another downside would be the interior was quite stuffy and hot which kinda sucks. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and it is in my top 3 brunch places to go in SF.

4.5 stars. Add this to your never-ending list of San Francisco brunch places to visit! I came here with my brunch buddy Nina Y. and we enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch. We had to wait for about 45 minutes because it was so busy, but the weather was perfect, and there was bench seating on one side of the building. We just spent that time catching up on life. We were eventually seated inside. The tables were crammed close together, but it felt cozy instead of cramped. Our waiter got us started with drinks immediately. I was disappointed that they did not have a Bloody Mary since that’s what I walked in craving, but their refreshing mimosas made up for it. They have a few different juices that you can combine if you wanted, but I just got a pomegranate mimosa, and Nina got a grapefruit one. We decided on a large size and didn’t realize the glass would be filled up to the top. Holy crap it’s huge! Good life decision on our part. Nina ordered the Crab and Shrimp Benedict, and I got the Duck Confit Hash. The benedict was pretty good, though I have a habit of liking other people’s dishes more than my own. The hash was amazing for the first few bites, then kinda mushed together in this soupy looking fashion. The potatoes were pretty bomb… admittedly I ate the rest off Nina’s plate because none came with my meal and she wasn’t going to finish them. Wow Stefanie, what a classy move. Whatever, what are girlfriends for? Love the service here. For a place so busy, they did not rush us out, but overall it was a very smooth experience, and I would definitely come here again!

Solid 3.5÷5 stars This has been on my Unilocalmark for years, and I am happy to finally try this out. We came on Saturday around 11:15am to write down our name b/c we knew the wait would be greater than 1 hour. We put down our name, went home, and waited. We were seated around 12:45pm. We ordered a bunch of plates: 1) Truffle fries: 3.5÷5 yum! Large portion too! 2) Mushroom benny: 3.5÷5 yum! The hollandise was delicious! 3) Pomegranate and peace mimosa: 3⁄5 yum! The colors came out really pretty! 4) Pancakes: 2.5÷5 this was JUSTOK – nothing too spectacular 5) Crab Benny: 3.5÷5 yum! Again, the sauce was delicious! Busy, busy! Service was good considering how chaotic this little venue can be.

Second to Mamas in North Beach, this is my favorite brunch spot. My friend and I arrived a little before 11am on a Saturday. The wait was 1 hour for us. The crowd got bigger as it hits 12pm. The restaurants is bright. Not a huge place but good amount of seating. They made good of every space available here. Service is normal. Brunch services are normally fast and quick, with a smile. I don’t mind as long as if you’re not rude. My friend and I order the **Dungeness Crab and Bay Shrimp Benedict and the **Spinach and Mushroom Benedict. I love the both of them but the mushroom was simply amazing. We added a side of their **BACON, caramelized. So good! So yummy! We also got a side of their Brioche French Toast(yes a side, pretty awesome!) topped with berries and whipped cream. So fluffy and not too sweet, just perfect. One of the main highlights was their **Green Tea Latte! It’s not super sweet which is perfect for me. Most lattes are way too sweet for me. I’m such a fan and its made with such pretty art.

Cute little brunch spot in the Mission that even before opening at 9AM, people are already waiting outside with a coffee in hand and name on the waitlist. I’ve heard only good things about this place, but it’s crazy how early(and long for those coming later) brunch-goers come here. Be prepared to wait about a little over an hour if you aren’t the first party being seated. I came here a little before 9am to ensure my party of 3 got seated right away but missed the first wave due to not everyone being present. When my other two friends arrived, we told the host but due to the small capacity of the café we had to wait about an extra 40 minutes for another table to open up. I have to say that the host did a good job with managing the wait(I feel I’ve seen worse at other places) and got my friends and I seated as soon as possible. We decided to order and share the brioche french toast, spinach & egg benedict, and the egg sandwich. All of it was really delicious and worth the wait. The brioche french toast had cranberries and apple bits on top with a huge slab of butter and a good syrup. Very fluffy bread too! I LOVED the truffle sauce on that benedict! That was probably my favorite part of the meal. And the potatoes! The egg was a little more cooked than I’m used to(I love it when the egg is poached to the point where the yolk leaks out onto the rest of the english muffin and touching everything). The egg sandwich I felt was just okay; just an everyday egg&avocado sandwich with a side of potatoes. I definitely want to come back here to try their duck confit hash and get some mimosas! You can even mix flavors and create your own. Sounds like a plan next time :)

It’s a pretty small place, and the wait is always INSANE. I put my name down for a party of 2 just after 12pm, and we were seated after about an hour and 15 minutes. If you leave to walk around and miss your name being called, they will put you back in the queue when you get back and tell them, but I wouldn’t recommend leaving for tooo long. They have a few different mimosa flavors to choose from and very generous glass sizes. The«small» mimosa is in a standard wine glass, and the«large» is in an over-sized, XL wine glass, both filled to the brim. I would say that the large is comparable to 2 mimosas at many other brunch places! Duck confit hash — Not quite what I expected. The dish had a lot of sauce, rather than a regular dry hash with potatoes. It was basically 2 over-easy eggs served over a bed of duck and butternut squash, with a small dollop of sour cream and chives on top. It was a LOT of duck. The flavor was good, but the entire dish was too oily for me, so I couldn’t finish it. Dungeness crab and bay shrimp eggs benedict — FANTASTIC. Creamy hollandaise sauce, runny poached eggs, fresh avocado slices, and chunks of crab and shrimp all layered on top of a perfectly toasted and buttered English muffin. Why wouldn’t you get this? Also, a huge plus, they definitely aren’t stingy with the crab and shrimp. A small downside though, the row of tables for two in the center are really crammed together. There was maybe 8 inches between our table and the ones on either side of us.

Hands down, my favorite place to get brunch in San Francisco. I cannot say enough good things about the service, the ambiance, and the food. The crab Benedict is the best I’ve ever had in my life. Large pieces of crab and little shrimp over a perfectly toasted English muffin and poached eggs with hollandaise. I also highly recommend the mushroom and spinach Benedict(with or without the maple bacon), and the french toast with bourbon maple syrup. Giant mimosas are just $ 12, and they serve a great(bottomless) drip coffee(from flying goat) for $ 3 in the most beautiful matte black brands coffee mugs(that I fully intend to buy for my apt one of these days). McKenzie is like a ray of sunshine. She(like most of their wait staff) goes out of her way to be friendly and helpful. Honestly cannot say enough good things about these people. They’re the best. The ambiance here is perfection. There’s cozy wooden benches outside while you’re waiting, and they play music like the Beach boys and the Monkees. There’s lots of natural sunlight coming into the huge windows, and the high ceilings make it seem much larger than it actually is. The tables are wooden and look like something you might see at a high end interior design store(check my pictures for details — they’re beautiful). The only downside is they don’t take brunch reservations, so sometimes it can be an hour+ wait. I promise it’s worth it though! Pro tip: grab a drip coffee while you wait for your table.

I’d brunched at this joint about 5 years ago. The food was mediocre, and they sucked it when my friend requested a high chair for her child and the host responded, «We don’t have high chairs. We encourage parents to hold their children.» WTF. Who says that? I shall decide when I hold my child, m**r. They still don’t seem to have high chairs. Minus one star. I decide, just randomly, that since I still live in the hood, I should give them another try… for lack of lunch places that’ll hook you up with a mimosa and meal on a weekday. Just keepin’ it real. I ordered the pom mimosa. Good. I also had the Mission Beach Huevo: Petaluma egg whites(on request), flor de mayo beans, salsa roja, crème fraiche, guacamole, tortilla chips. Gotta admit, it was legit. Not in that damn this s*** is Mexican as hell(translation: this s*** is tight! Relax, I’m Mexican), but in that wow, this dish is inventive, flavorful, delight-inducing, and the guacamole is fresh(as in not brown and busted, and sitting there since they opened). I was impressed! Just for that, I wanted to give them five stars! Butttttt, as I held my squirmy peanut in my lap, and tried to enjoy my comestibles, I yearned(yes, yearned) for a high chair. I couldn’t have one, so as these things go, it made me want one even more. Neverevergonnagetitgonnagetit.
