Mary is fantastic — so easy to work with, comforting, knowledgable, and helpful. It’s difficult and emotional to cope with the needs of an aging parent, and Mary knows the right way to help get to the core issues and how to reach important decision. She’s helped us get so much more organized in terms of priorities and decision-making, and that alone is a huge relief to our entire family. But I was particularly impressed with her commitment to ensuring that issues are handled with dignity for the senior. As important as her ability to help us with the big issues of concern was how she helped us see we should let go of some of the other issues. She showed us there are little things we can do(or things we should stop trying to change) to allow our father to keep some of the little things that make him happy, or to feel more independent. I leave our meetings feeling so much happier and focused on the right things rather than the little things that bothered me before. I recommend her highly to anyone starting the process of planning care for an aging parent or relative.

I had a great experience with Mary at Moonstone Geriatrics. A client of mine was diagnosed with Alzheimer and Parkinson’s disease. In order to protect my client’s confidentiality, I can’t share more details about what happened with her case. However this is what I can tell you about my interactions with Moonstone: Mary was a wealth of information. She gave me great tips for how to work with the client and support the family. In all my interactions with her she was helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having a family member with a diagnosis of dementia or similar condition, I highly recommend you contact Moonstone.

My father passed away in May of this year. Not only was I emotionally crushed, I had an elderly mother who has always struggled with mental illness. Mary helped guide me with researching the various services available to my mother. While working with her, I felt comforted by her professionalism and caring for the sensitivity of the situation. It is not only difficult for seniors to know what their options are but also for the children who emotionally struggle with how to care for their aging parents. I would gladly recommend Mary’s services. She is a wonderful resource, knowledgeable advocate for the elderly, and now a dear friend to my mother and me.
