I’ve had nothing but, great experiences here. Bought 2 bikes from here and have had top service.

I brought my Benelli TNT Café Racer here to have simple work done 3 times and every time i got the bike back something was broken. First time they killed my brand new battery and told me I brought it in that way, even though i rode it in, forcing me to buy another one. Second time they broke a rear turn signal and my front windscreen. The last time I went to Monroe for service i had my tires changed. Today I go in to a reputable shop to have my tires changed for the first time since then and they show me a totally stripped left fork boot where the axel screws in. My only option is to buy a new fork. I will NEVER go to Monroe again and will always recommend my buddies to choose somewhere else.
They also made me miss MotoGP one year because they installed my spark plug wires in the wrong order and couldn’t figure it out.
They also gave me crap for wanting to ship tires to their location and not paying for their overpriced ones.

Just an update to the response. No, you are wrong. I was told to bring my bike in the morning, I was never told to take a long lunch, and yes my brakes are in fact virtually metal on metal. Thank you for the completely inaccurate response in regards to my posting as opposed to reaching out to me. I will give you credit as it appears as though you tried to do some research into the matter, but before you go making assumptions you should get your facts straight. As for the charge, had your employee been aware of their actions it wouldn’t have happened so really the cause for the hold and not my bank.

I love these guys. Sam the service manager is extra awesome. Ok, well so is Brent (Brett?) and Chris and everyone at the parts desk. I bought an MV Agusta from one of their clients, not directly through them, and they really took great care of me and the bike. Sam is one of the nicest people I have met — and I hate to sound like this, but as a woman, I have had the experience that I am not taken seriously when it comes to bikes. True story — I had actually called a different dealership asking about an MV and they asked me if it was for my husband… Seriously. I have been here several times and have never felt more taken care of. The bike needed a little bit of warranty work so it was in and out of there a few times, and I’ll be honest, I was bummed that the bike was in working order because it was always great socializing with the guys! Maybe it’s time to let the air out of the tires or… Hmmm…maybe I just need a life lol!!!

Beware of Sharks.
I purchased a Multistrada from them in 2014. They sold me a «leftover» from 2013 at what I found out later to be an absurdly high price. I’m now unable to sell the motorcycle to anything even close to what I owe on it.

Pretty bad…
Service department is the worst. Lazy as hell. Did not fix the issue first time around, problem got worse, and then tried to make me pay out of pocket for the towing when it happened again in less than 2 months. I had to call Ducati HQ to get the problem resolved.
It took them over a week to fix.
I got it towed in Wednesday. Got a call Thursday and and told me the part should be in Friday or Saturday, and should be finished Saturday or Tuesday.
The following Wednesday rolls around, still no call.
I call them and they say the part should arrive in an hour and should be done by end of the day.
Yet no call. I call the next day by 2pm and they say it will be done in 40mins and they will call me when it’s done.
It’s 4pm, still no call. I call them and they say it’s done.
Also, the bike is only 6 months old.

Took my tiger xcx for its first service, over all a good experience, they accommodated me on a short notice on a Saturday & gave an eta for work to be done by 1 ended up being 2 pm but thats all good.
They do need some couches or something for customers to sit for a little bit. But over all good place, and pricing for the job.
Mindy one of the sales lady spoke with me for a bit, & did mention they like people & talking to them :)
I think i Would come back again here fr my bike needs!

A quick update:
I’ve had a few more interactions with Munroe (in-​person, by phone, and by email) since I wrote my review just two and a half weeks ago. Some minor hiccups with some parts I’d ordered — but nothing that would send me off ranting and raving. After delivering the news to me, I didn’t have to ask anyone to make it right — they just offered to make it right and told me what they would do (which was more than fair). With each interaction (Matt, Sam, Chris, and others) I’ve had the feeling that each person that works at Munroe is empowered to act as if they owned the place themselves — they act as if they really want me to come back! Keep up the good work!

On the plus side MM has a nice (if small, but hey it is in SF!) showroom at a pretty decent location.
On the minus side… Well too much to list.
I had a warranty claim work done there and man did they mess up my bike!
Work was done, took a while (darn UK parts); the heated grips I asked to be installed were installed but left with the switch hanging under the handlebars (ended up scraping my tank) due to a supposed missing part not provided by manufacturer as part of the kit (weird they only sell thousand of them a year, you would think this issue would have been escalated by now).
Anyhow… Next my back tire is seriously rubbing against my exhaust, leaving Masry black marks you’d expect on a 40K miles off road bike (I have 3K miles).
About 1k miles later, bike shows signs of overheating, taken to another dealer (ACE in concord, good vibes by the way), inspects the bike and notices that the cooling system was not put back together properly by Munroe, some washers were not mounted properly, etc.
Ultimately Munroe fixed all these issues (minus tank damage and exhaust marks) but their work is just way too sloppy for a supposed factory trained service center to recommend. I will give ACE a shot next and will report on my experience.

I love this place. It’s like a second home to me. I bought my Monster here and I also perform the scheduled maintenance here.
The service is excellent and the guys are always available to give you an honest opinion about the bike you’re going to buy.
Maybe not the cheapest place in town about repairs, DUH it’s a dealership, but it’s absolutely worth it.
Last but not least, here you can watch Moto GP if any race is going on.
Mark, the owner, is funny, friendly and enough trustable (I mean, at the end of the day he is still a salesman, right?)^^.

Bought a new bike with these guys last week. Very smooth process from demo to purchase. Highly recommend Derek! Thanks to the parts, finance and sales team for an awesome experience.

Seriously the friendliest group of people ever! I called ahead to see if they had a battery that I needed and they held it for me to pickup after work. I swung by and was immediately greeted by staff keeping watch on the bikes outside. I parked in the red on a curb and he told me that sometimes cops like to ticket, but that he would keep an eye on my bike while I was inside. Awesome.
They prepped my battery and let me borrow some tools to install it myself in front of the shop. They even disposed of my old battery for me! We had some great chats about touring gear and riding around the Bay Area. You can tell that as the oldest shop in the city that they really love bikes and care about their customers. You don’t get such a nice experience like this at most moto shops (car or bike). I RECOMMEND!

Had a nightmare experience at a competitor of Munroe that resulted in me missing a couple fairing bolts. Ironically, the competitor told me to come to Munroe to «resolve my issues». Hah. Now Munroe has a customer for life.
Bobby must have taken at least 30 minutes to assure we had the right bolt ordered for my Triumph. Throughout the whole process I just felt horrible wasting this kind gentleman’s time over 2 frickin fairing bolts! Bobby gave me a call after 3 business days to let me know my bolts came in and assured me that if they won’t fit he will do an exchange for me to get me the right ones.
I got home and found out that the hole the bolt goes into was stripped (probably another gift from Munroe’s competitor). Bobby went the extra mile and gave me a breakdown of what options I have to resolve the issue — he even gave me contact information for someone to «chase the threads» on my stripped fairing fastner.
All of this… for just fairing bolts. I can only imagine what happens if I were to have a problem with any service they provide. A+ service here especially working with Bobby. Can’t wait for the next service interval on my Daytona, it’s coming straight to Munroe.

I brought my Hypermotard here last week with an unknown issue — the type where a dealer could charge you a grand and you wouldn’t be any wiser. These guy diagnosed it and fixed it all for $ 70. Was really impressed all around. Thanks gents.

Fast and great service. I went into the store and fell in love with the daytona 675R and wanted to purchase it at a specific price. They didn’t bs with me and gave me a direct price. Next day, I was approved for my loan and picked up my brand new bike.

Is there a sixth star?
They know bikes, they know customer service, and despite being in one of the most absurdly over-​priced areas in the world to live, their prices are very fair. All anyone has ever wanted is for a business to appreciate a customer’s… well business. I feel respected and appreciated. Thanks to the whole crew.

This place is exactly how everyone describes it…
Attitude is horrible, I over heard a call with the service guys and they were mocking the customer for asking questions re what could be the problem.
My personal experience was paying over 200 $ for a diagnostic and in the end they did a bunch of test never found the problem but still charged me. I ended up figuring out the problem my self… I will never service my bike there ever again.
Parts counter is good and customer response is good, although dealer parts over priced as usual along with the markup.
Save yourself the stress of dealing with the d bags in the service dept.

I had a bad experience with Ace Motorsports where I bought a bike I wasn’t even a little comfortable with and they wouldn’t help me rectify it to my satisfaction. I considered going to the Triumph dealership in Mountain View, but they only had last year’s Speedmaster which they were willing to sell to me for original price.
So I found myself at Monroe where they had a 2014 Triumph Speedmaster. I worked with Andy and Mark. They were great. No pressure. Just informational. I let them know my situation, I had a Thruxton with less than 300 miles on it that I hated riding. I sat on the Speedmaster at a dealer in Florida about 12 times when visiting my parents, and I made sure to sit on my new bike a million times first. They were great with me.
When I was ready to buy, I had a pre-​approval on the financing from my own lender, but hadn’t solidified things. Mark spoke to the credit union and got me out on my bike. They were so kind and helpful, it was such a nice change.
They helped me buy my bike, put accessories on and then they helped me consign my bike. Every bit of it was easy and fun.
I was dealing with the Craigslist crazies for a few weeks trying to sell the Thruxon, dealing with low ballers and tire kickers. Got tired of it. Monroe consigned my bike and sold it for more than I was asking on Craigslist. Bam! Done.
Thanks Andy, Mark, et al! I LOVE my new motorcycle!

I gave Munroe Motors a call about the Craigslist ad for a used Harley. I came in and met with Samson and told him I wanted to give it a test ride. Serge accompanied me on the ride with his Ducati Monster throughout the city with some surprisingly fun curved roads.
The price was also very reasonable as it was well under the KBB price, so no need to haggle. Taxes and fees are standard at any dealership and they won’t stick you with any finance charges. The whole experience was unlike any dealer, very painless and quick.
Samson offered to have the bike dropped off in Palo Alto no charge. About a month later, he mailed me extra keys from the previous owner. I would definitely do business with them again. Keep up the good work and excellent service.

Friendly staff. But like others note here, service department leaves something to be desired.
Example: Got bike (Bonneville) back after service with only one of two seat screws left. And that one was loose. What?
No words. Well, some words, I guess, and two stars.
