Over the summer my son, Tristan, attended a music summer camp with in Palo Alto where Skarli was working. My wife had been dropping off our son on the way to work as I couldnt on account of me having to catch an early Caltrain to SF. Long story short, I had a couple of free days during the second week of the camp and I took my son and got to meet the other kids and of course the director of the program and Skarli. The director of the camp(for the life of me I forget her name) seemed very busy as it was her camp and she was attending to multiple parents and children. Skarli took the time out to talk to me about Tristan’s progression and his ability to want to really perfect his playing. I was taken aback as I never really saw my son in this capacity. It was endearing and wonderful to see such a wonderful young lady teaching my son with compassion, understanding and a love for the instrument. As soon as we get back from our vacation in NYC I plan on taking my son to private lessons in San Francisco with Skarli so he may progress his abilities a bit more. The whole family is looking forward to it and we plan on nurturing our son’s interest in playing violin.
