Came here on a cold day in need of some hot soup. This place’s soon doo boo hit the spot! Prices are decent, place is clean and neat and most important to me customer service was on point! 5 stars Definitely coming back!

For the price, there’s better korean out there. Shin toe Bu Yi comes to mind as a korean spot that in my mind is better. I got their original soft tofu with chicken and it wasn’t bad but the value just wasn’t there in my opinion. Free fish which is nice but it’s pretty hard to eat because of all the small fish bones that you have to pick through to get some meat.

Only I would go to a Korean restaurant when I do meatless Mondays. lol. So my options were very limited that night! I ordered the Vegetarian Tofu Soup and it was lovely! I asked for medium level spice and it was not spicy at all! Next time, I will go for the most spicy option. The portion size for the tofu soup was def more than enough for one person so plan on sharing if you’re going to order up more dishes! Lucky for us, we waited maybe 5 – 10 minutes for a table. The service was just okay– I think they forgot about us as soon as our food came? But don’t worry, I’m coming back again when I’m not going meatless that day!

This restaurant is pretty pricey. The bibimbap was about $ 17 which is a lot compared to other restaurants. I ordered the Noodle Tofu Soup. It looked small but was surprisingly very filling! Especially with the extra rice they serve you with the banchan. The banchan is unlimited instead of the fried fish, they will charge extra for that. The soup was very flavorful as was the bibimbap that my friend ordered.

Busy place! They give you a free fish like BCD. :) Yum yum. Flavorful soup. Yummy gal bee. Good side dishes. Everything was tasty! Can stop by the Korean grocery next door on your way out.

New favorite«low key» Korean place! Although Han Il Kwan is still the best, My Tofu House is our now go-to place for simple Korean food for dinner. Their menu is small and perhaps slightly pricey, but so far, everything that we’ve had has been delicious. The KimChi Tofu Soup is perfect for rainy weather. We always add ramen with it for an extra $ 1. The raw egg that comes with the banchan is meant to be cracked into the hot soup, fyi! Speaking of banchan, they also have mackerel as a banchan dish, which I rarely see at other Korean places. Expect a long wait on the weekends, but weekdays aren’t too bad.

my favorite tofu soup soon du boo place in sf. theres a reason why the lines are so long. the menu is small but it means that the chef is a master at each of those dishes. if you get there before 6pm, expect a wait. a long wait. we always go early and/or on off days. be warned. the service is slow because they are short staffed and they are very busy. expect to wait to get service, tea, order, side dishes, food but its worth it.

They say home is where the heart is… and my heart is in My Tofu House. My Tofu House will give you warm fuzzy feelings. It’s perfect for the cold weather or if you’re just craving for some super delicious Korean food. I always order the Kimchi Tofu soup with beef and mild spice. Even though I’m a weak sauce with spicy food, their spice is not too strong. I’ve also ordered the bulgogi. The dishes come with delicious side dishes, such as kimchi, pickled cucumbers, and spicy fishcake(to name a few). I love that their tofu soup is engulfed with tofu and the broth is well flavored. The bulgogi is also tasty and juicy. Service is fast and attentive and with reasonable prices! A simple restaurant, but simplicity at its best! This is definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the city.

I like Tofu Soup. It’s nice warm and fills you up on a cold day. We drove out here after our show at the Orpheum for an early dinner. We lucked out and got parking off the street right next to it. We walked in, there was barely anyone in there but then again we were there kind of early for dinner! The staff was courteous. Now… was the meal very memorable? Yes because I was with the bf, but other than that, I don’t think anything in particular stood out to me about their tofu soup. They did give you a ton of rice even though we only ordered one soup. I was stuffed with soup and rice by the end :)

The food was amazing! The service was less than amazing. The wait staff were polite and nice, but very overworked. I think there were only 3 of them for the entire restaurant with a line out the door. Luckily, the food was good and we could easily overlook the short coming. I’ll be back!

Came here 4.5 years ago and was not the avid Unilocaler I am today. Came back 4.5 years later and finally am a Unilocaler to review it! YAY! Place is very clean, simple, and brightly lit. Employees are kinda friendly. Their prices are no longer accurate on the full menu on Unilocal.Prices have went up :( original tofu soup $ 12.88: I asked for mild spicy and it was. MILD!(had traumatic experiences with korean places where I ordered mild and it was like… lvl 10 spicy…) You can choose different types of meat chicken, pork, beef. They give you a raw egg to crack into the soup, and egg makes everything better! The tofu is super soft and the soup is flavorful. Nothing out of the ordinary WOW though. meal came with many appetizer dishes(banchan dishes). the fish tofu was very spicy. Parking was easy on a Sunday night at around 8pm. Overall, a pretty expensive decent dinner, but which korean place in SF isnt hella pricey for dinner?

This place was awesome! Granted, the fact that it was freezing the day I went most likely played a big role in making the Tofu Soup all the more enjoyable. If you like Korean food, this place is a solid choice for the Inner Richmond area. The traditional prefixes are good, it would be nice if the cucumbers were drizzled with some spicy sauce, but they’re good. I look forward to coming back and trying out the rest of their menu, but the Tofu Soup is solid. Note: If you like spicy, the medium spicy is super weak, so up the spice.

My Tofu House is comfort food at its finest. When I went, it was cold and raining so I think that shot up my expectations for this place. I wanted something hot and the soondubu here was steaming. Literally, the stone pot kept the soup bubbling for a good 5 minutes after the waitress put it in front of me. There’s many iterations of the soup but I got mine with dumplings, which was good but I’m going to stick with my classic order and do the mix of seafood and beef next time. As with all Korean establishments, the banchan is what really makes or breaks the experience for me. I’m happy to report back this place does it quite well. The fried fish is addicting but can be dangerous to eat. I found myself getting a few bones stuck in my teeth and gums during the process. I should point out that this is no fault of the restaurant and is purely me being an over-efficient eater who likes to leave nothing behind. My only gripe is that we came and there were 3 – 4 tables empty as diners before us had left. However, they weren’t cleaned right away and we had to wait. They only proceeded to clean those tables when additional parties came in after us so they could seat everyone at the same time. That was a minor annoyance but the soondubu warmed my heart and I’ll let it go this time.

This restaurant hits the spot on a cold San Francisco night. The famous tofu soups are so perfectly hot and delicious. Another favorite is the seafood pancake, generous amount of seafood, truly a treat. The condiments are fresh, love the fried fish plate, could be a course. Nice spot to warm up with a scalding hot tofu soup.

One of my favorite places to go to for Korean food, especially tofu soup. I love their banchans because they give you the fishes which are absolutely delicious! Not all Korean places offer this. We came here on a Saturday weekend and was so surprised at how full the restaurant was by 6:00! We had to wait 30 minutes for a party of 4 so it wasn’t too bad. The tofu soup has never disappointed and it was extra good given how cold it has been lately. We also ordered the bibimbap and the short ribs. Never ordered be short ribs because I feel it is a little pricey for how much you get, but the flavors were spot on. For those who are more on a budget, I would advise ordering two tofu soups and bibimbap for two people and you will most likely be full. Parking can be difficult since it is in the heart of Geary area but you can be lucky at times. Arrive early because there is always a wait!

My go to spot for tofu soup. I love their side dishes especially the fish. Idk of any other place that gives you fish. The tea also has this roasted taste and isn’t watered down which I the way I like it. As for tofu soup, I always get the dumpling tofu soup which is flavorful on its own without any spice. Convenient for people who can’t take spicy. It contains 4 pieces of dumpling that are meat filled and a couple of smaller dumplings(rice cake perhaps). & shoutout to the staff. These pots are heavy and extremely hot and it gets busy here, imagine the labor it takes to run around with these pots all day. & having to wash the mess that gets stuck to the bowls. They’re not even grumpy when they serve you and don’t give you dirty looks for asking for more side dishes! I also love the bouquets they have here under that one spot of light. Everytime I come there’s a new bouquet and it’s always beautiful and in full bloom. Not fake either. Props for whoever picks the flowers.

In all honestly this wasn’t our first choice for dinner. The original Korean place I wanted to go to was almost a 2 hour wait. So this was our 2nd choice, ok maybe 3rd… While it was a little busy we didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Staff was attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. Let’s all be real, Korean Banchan matters!!! If a Korean joint doesn’t have quality, tasty banchan it shouldn’t qualify as an authentic Korean restaurant. My Tofu House’s banchan was meh to say the least. Banchan was good but variety was lacking. We ordered: kimchi soft tofu with pork — ordered medium spicy, but it wasn’t spicy at all! Bulgolgi — hmmmm ribeye was sliced perfectly and it was marinated nicely. Seafood combo pancake — Fried to perfection! easily the star of the night. The menu didn’t have some of my favorites: missing japchae and duk boki. But nonetheless service and food were OK. I’d come back again if my other 2 Korean joints are packed =T

I have been eating next door for over 25 years. But today I wasn’t in the mood for BBQ. It’s raining and I really wanted a hearty soup on a cold day. I was greeted right away with smiling faces and happy customers. The place is clean an has pleanty of seating for a small place. Looking at the menu they offered labor intensive foods. All appearentlyvmafe with TLC. I’ve been to Korean restaurants for so many years I can always tell when food is homemade and this is all homemade. So I asked and they said I was correct. I odered the #4 Kimchee soft tofu soup with pork. They serve it with the oldies little side dishes called namul and there were pickled cucumber, pickled dicon radish, fish cake in a medium hot sauce, kimchi marinated. And a small deep fried fish that was absolutely delicious. Then I take the raw egg thay they gave me, and I drop it in the the Boiling soup so it’ll cook at my table. Everything was perfect. I won’t just come again, I will bring everyone I know when I come again and have a little oarty here. Bi time fan now.

Great korean tofu house Damn I can see why this place is so popular. It’s not exactly in the downtown area but when we got there it was packed and we had to wait. The food here is excellent. You get a free«fried fish» at the beginning as a starter, and the Banchan(starter dishes) had a lot of variety and all tasted fresh. They even refill it for you constantly. Nice! The tofu stew was excellent, as was the stone bowl bibimbap. For the tofu stew, they serve the rice to you in a large stone bowl, and the staff scoops out the rice from the stone bowl once they bring it to your table. After that they put some sweet water in it and cover it, so that when you are finished with the tofu stew you can eat the rice«stew» at the end as a desert. Pretty authentic korean stuff :) Definitely the go-to place for korean tofu stew
