Good place to grab a quick bite to eat. The burgers, while not the best in the area, are consistently good and they’ve never messed up one of my orders.

Staff here is very friendly! Food is decent, this is the place you go when you need a quick lunch! I like the chicken caesar salad. The corn bread comes with the meal isn’t bad either!

This place is the best. Good coffee, nice and quiet atmosphere(even during busy hours) and great tuna melts. It is also always really clean. Nice place take a date or discuss business.

I knew something was wrong when I asked the cashier what the BBQ chicken looked like and she said she didn’t know because nobody ordered it. If you were a fan of the Neetos that served delicious prime rib, be prepared to be utterly disappointed.

I love the Unilocal app for iPhone! Why? Well without it, there would have been no way I would have been able to find this place. Like seriously, this place is hidden down an alley between two massive buildings. But I let my phone do the work and followed the gps to Neeto’s Café. The lunch menu is simple, yet has a few twists and turns that make it an adventurous lunch visit. Quesadillas, ruebens and Thursday specials that include Korean BBQ(Which I plan on sampling next week) seriously had me crying«But I want it all waaah waaah waaah!» But it was the grilled cheese that finally had my face on full smile mode. Crispy, not too buttery and just enough cheese that slightly oozed out of the sides, I loved this perfectly mastered work of art. It comes with your choice of fries, fruit or salad. But come on, diets are for birds. Get the fries! Though I will say, they were a little on the soggy side, but I looked past that and just got to work on making my love handles more floppy than they already are. The weather is glorious and so is this little gem of a lunch spot. go.

Tried a couple of other things for lunch and its still ok. I like their clam chowder and I still like their korean fare but the price is a little expensive for what it is. I’ve tried one of their breakfast sandwiches and it gave me a stomachache unfortunately, so I won’t be going here for breakfast anytime soon. Will only go here if I need a quick lunch or if Im really crazing galbi for lunch when I’m near my office

I like the café for it’s homey feel and friendly staff. I would give a higher rating but I feel that the food is overpriced for what you get. Also, the furniture is pretty dated and could use a facelift. A solid choice when I want a big bowl of hot soup without long wait

If you are in the neighborhood, its a good place to go for lunch, it’s not worth a special trip downtown to go there though.

Solid lunch spot that was described by my dining companion as a «Midwestern diner in California». The food is classic American comfort food: burgers, fries, soups, sandwiches, meatloaf, stews, etc. I got the gumbo with chicken and sausage and it came in a huge, hearty bowl chock full of rice, veggies, meat and tomato-y broth. Nothing to write home about, but a great choice if you’re on a work lunch.

I like this place, its cheap and fast with indoor seating on a rainy day. Being somewhat hidden, it doesn’t get insanely crowded like some of the other places with indoor seating do. I ordered the Tomato soup and cornbread and while it wasn’t the greatest, it did the trick so I can’t complain.

Wandered around aimlessly during lunch and decided on this place. I was really hoping they’d sell burritos(…get it? Neeto’s Burritos? Hilari – nevermind), but it was mainly sammiches, soups, salads, and the like. I opted for their special: a grilled veggie salad with a side of Caesar salad( ). You order at the counter, seat yourself, and the food’s brought over. I really wasn’t expecting anything(I didn’t know what to expect, really), so I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I mean, it’s nothing to rave about or anything, but it’s good to know I can fall back on a tasty sammich that’s a short walk from my workplace.

I ordered half sandwich/half soup, posole and turkey/avocado sandwich and it was yummy. They have a large seating, so that’s nice too.

It’s hard to remember Neeto’s since it’s so hidden away on Stevenson unless, of course, you happen to work nearby. It’s not that they do anything particularly wrong. In fact, there is quite a hard-working regular crew here. It’s just that the food they make is just not that memorable. It’s not a place you seek out and shout«Eureka!» You don’t even feel like whisperimg«Neet-o». You just kinda shrug and go in knowing you can get a decent, less-than-extraordinary salad or sandwich that will hold you over until dinner. Sometimes, it’s perfectly acceptable to have a middling lunch because you don’t feel entitled to anything more on a work day when you feel like you’re not accomplishing much. I hate when that happens. It’s not that I consider Neeto’s cruel and unusual punishment for a slow work day, but it must be more than a coincidence that I find myself here when I am feeling particularly sluggish and apathetic. Back when I was somewhat more indifferent about my diet, I would get a $ 6 Bowl of Clam Chowder or even an $ 11 Prime Rib Sandwich(see photos). But lately, I’ve been picking up the $ 9 Classic Caesar Salad with Garlic Chicken(see photo). I really wish they wouldn’t heat the chicken up because by the time I get back to the office, it wilts the lettuce already wet with dressing. But it still tastes alright when you’re in a hurry before a meeting. Perhaps one day I will eat in the café itself. I did once with a colleague but I haven’t been motivated to repeat the experience. Guess it wasn’t so neet-o. FOOD — 3 stars… middling food for a middling work day AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… a workplace café which benefits from its hidden location since it rarely gets too crowded SERVICE — 3 stars… certainly nice enough… and I like that he asks if I want the cornbread… yes please TOTAL — 3 stars… gee, I guess I’ll go back…(yawn)

When I am in the mood for fries, I love them at Neeto’s Café. Oh and I always request the Dill dressing to dip my fries in. I usually get the grilled cheese w/fries and the vegetarian chili is pretty good too. BUT whatever I get, it has to come with fries.

Being new in the area, my boss suggested we try this place out for our monthly lunch. She used to be a frequent guest, but as I soon learned when we walked in… things were a little different than what she had remembered… Warning sign #1: it was 12:00 pm, prime time for restaurants to be packed with regulars, but not this place… dead quiet and some workers in the back were reading the Chronicle . After much deliberation, I thought I would go with something light, so I got the fish tacos and a small bowl of tomato bisque. The fish tacos were probably one of the worst tacos I’ve had… sad to say. Bland, unflavorful, and tasted like it had just come out of the microwave. As for the soup, something tasted a little fishy(haha.get it???), and just had this undesirable aftertaste… The staff is friendly and nice, but the food is enough to make me question coming back here for a second round. Sorry… but not so Neet-O. =(

This is a review of Neeto’s Café. I went there on a Monday just after noon. What’s to like? 1. The au jus provided with the sandwich was quite nice. 2. The roll for the sandwich was nice. 3. Relatively quick — It was just over ten minutes to order and receive food. When i ordered there wasn’t a line. But people trickled in later to form a short line. What’s not to like? 1. Prime rib on sandwich was grisly and a little tough. 2. I would have preferred for the mushrooms to be sliced in smaller pieces. Combined with the meat, it created quite a chew and they were rubbery in texture. 3. The fries were either overcooked or were cooked in old oil. They also had not been salted. I could not eat them. Overall, this was basically a corporate style café. I will not return. The quality of the sandwich and fries were lacking. The ambiance is very basic.

After meeting up with my friend near here for weeks, we finally decided to go in and try this place. We were both craving some chili so we came in and decided to try out their vegetarian chili with a side of corn bread. They have a decent selection of sandwiches and soups here as well should that interest you more. As for the chili, it was good but it’s not something that would have you talking about it to your friends when you get back to work. The cornbread was really good but there are plenty of other places that have cornbread that taste the same. Overall, it’s a great place to eat and hang out but not something you’d drive/walk out of your way to get to.

I have no idea what an earlier review is on about about managers being disrespectful to staff. I come here about once or twice a week, mainly for breakfast and sometimes lunch… by no means I’m a regular who chit chat(I’m more and in and out kinda customer) but with the amount of visits I’ve had, I have never seen anyone being disrespectful. Neeto’s is often over shadowed by it’s bigger competitors nearby, Seller’s Market to one side, two Soup Co within a block away AND a Mixt Greens right behind. The menu is surprisingly diverse, from burritos to entrée/main meals. I am a big fan of their soups — Jambalaya… yum. Yes it is way spicy but I like it that way(maybe a little alienating for the general market pallet). So you tend to have to wait a little here — it’s a Mom & Pop shop. I find it reassuring that they’re making my sandwich in front of me, as oppose to mass market chain-store clones churned out a dozen at a time. They don’t tend to have bored s**tless teenagers/college kids working behind the counter either and I kinda like that. To be fair if I didn’t work across the road, I wouldn’t really have known of this place. But in all honesty it’s nice that there are still independent takeout/cafes right in the downtown area who serve pretty damn good grub.

I remember laughing at this hysterical West Yellowstone catalog spoof that«sold» yellow stone souvenirs that came in three sizes: — Big — Huge — Enormous-Huge Well the sandwiches and soup portions here seemed like that today. They started with soup bowls that seemed more like small mixing bowls than regular soup bowls. My Reuben Sandwich [a dear food weakness of mine] was a manly two-fist-ed affair that came with the dressing on the side, a rather slender ¼ dill pickle slice, and a very nice Caesar salad. This Reuben is probably one of the best in recent memory(See my pic): thick tender juicy slices of pastrami served on very fresh thick and tender grilled marbled rye. The side salad of Caesar was crisp and loaded with flavor – you could actually taste the anchovies in the dressing. My companions had cornbread with either the chicken and sausage gumbo or the thick-as-anything chili. I swear you could have stood a spoon in this bowl. They were all pretty pleased except that maybe a ½ portion would have been enough. The eat-in service was quick and polite but the slim choices of tables would not suit a heavy crowd. Nonetheless, we all had a great lunch and commented that this is definitely a place to stay on our list. So for the price, this place is a great value and I would gladly make this one of my regular places around the Montgomery Street BART Station when I’m in the area.
