I found this place no too long ago so I’m still checking out the different trucks with different offerings. Today was Slider Shack and it was well worth it. The friend chicken was moist and juicy with a crunch outside. The original was just ok, but the Kalua Pork slider was superior. An excellent surprise came in the form of a side of tater tots. I know it’s hard to believe that people can screw up a tater tot but I’ve had some horrible ones. These tater tots were perfectly crunchy outside but hot and tender inside. It’s the little things in life, and sometimes that little thing is a perfect tater tot. I’m definitely headed back next week.

OTG: FiDi Burger Pod Organizer website: Hours: M-F 11am-3pm Only 1 food truck Fans of FiDi food trucks like Kung Fu Tacos, and Wexler’s Back BBQ truck, now have another lunch option just a block away. The crowds haven’t learned about this new truck stop yet. So I didn’t have to wait too long for my burger, and fries. . I haven’t tried every truck yet, but I believe that all the vendors cook their burgers to order. Therefore, u still have to wait a bit for your food. Last year, OTG had abandoned small 2 truck pods to focus their efforts on more profitable multi-truck(5 or more vendors) venues. Now it appears that they have changed their minds again, with the debut of this new 1 truck pod. Well, not really. Because they’ll get the same weekly net income, from 5 trucks spread over a week, as from a one weekly event with 5 trucks. The only twist is that all rotating truck’s menus have to feature some type of burgers or sliders. The restriction is important, because current laws say that food trucks cannot operate within 300ft from established businesses with similar foods. (**Update: June 2013 — New revised zoning regulations replace the«similar foods» and 300ft restrictions, with a 75ft buffer zone and 3 days limit for all food trucks, plus other restrictions. But the changes effective July 1, 2013 are not retroactive, so for now no changes for this spot or other OTG sites.) OTG is using the same spot pioneered by Kung Fu Tacos and other previous parking lot food trucks. The burger truck takes up one parking lot space weekdays, next to the old Jeanty at Jacks. The weekly schedule is as follows: Mondays = Me so Hungry Tuesdays = Doc’s on the Bay Wednesdays = Five Ten Burger Thursdays = Fins on the Hoof Fridays = Let’s Eat Grill Stop Also expect occasional substitute burger trucks to add more variety. Later months will include: Slider Shack, Bacon Bacon, Whisk on Wheels, and Whip Out truck. See Facebook link above for updates. Most of these trucks use the Square app to accept credit cards. It seems that«Let’s Eat Grill Stop» is the only cash vendor. But I haven’t tried that truck yet, so I can’t confirm.

Having a bad morning at work? Skipped breakfast? Muni was packed on the way? I can’t think of enough reason to get a burger for lunch as they are all legit! My fav’ is the amazing«Fins on the hoof» lamb burger; but I am also found of the«Me So Hungry» Sliders, and the classics«Doc’s of the bay» and«Fiveten burger». Surprisingly, I haven’t tried TGIF«Let’s eat grill stop» on Fridays yet. But this spot is amazing! The line is never crazy(as it is fairly recent) compare to other food trucks in the FiDi, as the location is a bit remote, which makes it even better.
