Tried the hawaiian chicken at Me so Hungry truck. Fabulous, moist pulled chicken. Topped with a mountain of sweet potatoe fries. Great meal!

10÷1÷2015: Seoulful Korean fried chicken truck, SFO terminal 1 by SWA departure check in, Thursdays 11 am — 2 pm. Seoulful Korean Fried Chicken truck: I ordered the Dark Combo w rice, coleslaw, thigh & drum, spicy sweet soy sauce $ 10; side Garlic Fries, $ 5. Drum /thigh Chkn: Oily, crunchy, dry inside, messy to hold on bone. Garlic fries fresh hot light garlic topping, good. Stood w homeland security and other airport personnel. Few non-airport workers in line. Unknown traveler feature! A nice change from the over-priced food inside, but Max’s still a good deal in comparison. Other trucks included tacos, and slider burgers — which looked really good but were slow.

Could be better. Its nice to have a different lunch option, escpecally if your stuck working at the airport with a 30 min crunch. But the truck options need to change up a bit. Its always the same ones. I would like to see more of the popular trucks here than the usual Korean, tacos, or sliders. I understand the trucks here don’t make as much profit as they would in the city, but I’m sure the airport staff would appreciate them!

What a nice change from having to eat leftovers or paying for overpriced airport food. The truck rotation seems pretty good but I found that sometimes the Off the Grid website had the wrong trucks listed. This is pretty much the highlight of my boring work week.

We tried to catch the On a Roll truck but it was no where to be found. Hongry Kong, Gold Rush and Hiyaa were representing though and theyve always been solid via my visits to various other events. The setup is weird as it’s literally a corner of Terminal 1’s dropoff for departures. So you have to go to airport parking or just get dropped off

OTG: SFO Pod Organizer website: Hours: Thursdays 11am-2pm 2 – 3 food trucks Last week(July 25) was the debut of the OTGSFO pod. 2 food trucks park for lunch time, out on the street level of the Terminal 1 domestic departures drop-off area(at beginning end). The airport provides a few tables inside for diners at this event. It’s mainly for airport employees, but the truck stop is open to anyone, passengers and visitors(take BART). My reviews of individual food trucks are posted separately. This event started as a one month test run, because an airport employee made the suggestion to add variety for employee lunch options. I have relatives who work at the airport, so I know that after awhile dining choices can become monotonous(some go out for takeout food). So far reception has been positive. It was crowded, but everyone looked happy. Most people waiting for their food order. In my opinion, 3 – 4 trucks would be ideal. But the departure curb space area already has very limited parking space for passenger drop-offs. If no problems arise during the test run, the event can become permanent(**Update: food truck event approved to continue all year). Next year, the next cool feature at SFO will be the brand new Boarding Area E at Terminal 3(currently under construction, to open in early 2014). It will be even better than Terminal 2(green sustainable high tech features, more open space, and modern food court with local restaurants).
