It’s not always easy to find a solid burrito but Olivo’s delivers. For under $ 9 you can get a burrito almost the size of your forearm. The tastiness factor is high, ingredients are good, and the folks that work here are nice. I’d definitely walk the extra blocks to come here over Pancho’s on Polk(bleech).

This place is definitely a hole-in-the-wall(which I like) in the outskirts of the TL(maybe not as nice). I went to the restroom first when I got here to wash my hands and it is for sure a hole-in-the-wall bathroom. Dirty, out of soap, and out of paper towels. Wasn’t a good start to the meal. But then my food came and everything changed. Split the carne asada fries and was not disappointed. Came with ample amount of cheese, guacamole(heaps of the good stuff), steak, jalapeños, cilantro. We devoured it. With just that, I thought I would give it 4 stars. But then my main entrée came, the«arroz con mariscos» which was rice with seafood(shrimp, calamari, sole filet) and four small fried plantains. This blew me away. Flavor was spot on; seafood was generous(seriously, heaps of shrimp, fish, and calamari); rice was cooked to perfection(not too wet, not dry); great balance of salty and sweet(the plantains). Ever been on the search for the perfect seafood paella? I have… even in Spain… but can say that I have usually been disappointed; there’s usually not enough seafood, or the rice is dry, or something. The arroz con mariscos was like that… only it did not disappoint at all… and it’s not paella… but it was the perfect combination of rice and seafood. Table also came with free chips and salsa, and pickled cabbage, which was a perfect crispiness for my dish. I’m coming back. But I’ll wash my hands before I get there. Five stars. And a request soap and paper towels in the bathroom =)

This place is hands down my favorite place to get Cali burritos! It only cost around $ 7 which is the cheapest you’ll find around the city. I usually just order to go but there are chairs and tables where you can eat and also a bathroom.

I was lost one day and stumbled into the wonderfulness that is Olivo’s. Great food and super sweet staff! Cash only, but do not worry because they have an ATM inside.

I have one recommendation for this medium sized taqueria — The horchata is done right, a very unique style, it has a mochi like flavor to it and the ice crumbles around the edges, giving some gulps a slushy like mouth feel. The rice is the star of this drink whereas others choose to highlight the cinnamon, this recipe almost tated like it was ommitted, and was good enough for me to order another one to go. But why did you come here? What did you want to know about. Thats right… pupusas. These, along with the burritos, are extremely reasonably priced for this side of town. Im talking two XL pupusas with beans and rice for less than $ 8, now thats just insanity. The flavor was not that fulfilling, but it’s a food you can crave sometimes. However, for this meal, it was anything but a guilty pleasure.

Cheap, tasty and a lot of food! The gentleman taking our order was very friendly too. Only thing I could say is –more sauce to the people! Otherwise really nice! Will be coming back as soon as I need my burrito fix.

Great little secret in San Francisco! Super Burrito was fantastic! Carne Asada Fries were stellar! Really great salsa made fresh daily. Truly never had any burrito quite like it. Awesome!

Quesadillas are amazing, burrito maybe not so much. I only ordered the 2-item combo though. Maybe should have gotten something else? Meal came with rice and beans, lettuce, chips and salsa. Worth it, imo.

Love this little hole in the wall. A whole lot of food for very little money. Be adventurous with your order, it’s all good. Cash only but there is an ATM inside. Street is unlit and a little sketchy at night, so don’t come walking here later in the evening if you look like an easy target. Be warned, friendly neighborhood crackheads will stick their faces against the glass and yell for money, but ignore them. They mean well. Good place to bring a few friends for too much food, cheap beers and friendly people.

Pretty good. Sizable portions, tasty. Nice people. Meals around $ 10, plus or minus couple dollars. Good value for the money. Most assuredly will return.

I got a huge burrito for something like $ 7.5, including a serving of corn chips and salsa. It’s not the cleanest nor the biggest place: there’s some boxes on the floor next to the two small tables they have, and the ATM is placed kind of haphazardly at the entrance. But at those prices I don’t think you can expect anything different. They’ve got a TV going, showing Spanish/European soccer and they have cold Coronas in the fridge. The lady behind the counter was very nice and the burrito was muy bueno :)

Great vibe– opt to dine in or take out. Fresh salsa and chips served. I could literally see the team in the back chopping fresh veggies and slicing fresh steak. My food came back HOT and ready to devour! All the flavors were well balanced, considering visiting one more time before I leave SF. Really a great Salvadoran — style treat!

Meh. Maybe would go back. The host/owner was very friendly, but offered no recommendations. She just kept saying it was all good, which frustrates me. The food didn’t take long. I ordered pork chile verde and my partner ordered pollo something. My chile verde pork was well cooked and tender, but his chicken was very poor cuts of meat, greasy and fatty. The pork didn’t have much flavor, just salty. Giving three starts bc the salsa was delicious(even with bagged chips) and the price was right.

Craving Mexican food, I turned to Unilocal to steer me in the right direction for lunch. My coworker was down so we decided to take a chance on Olivio’s. They are cash only, but they have a ATM on site, so it was an easy fix. I ordered a Shrimp Super burrito which was around $ 8.00, yet HUGE. I ate ½ for lunch, ¼ for dinner and the rest for breakfast! That’s how big this was. It was so tasty, even the next day. They also come with chips and salsa. My coworker could not help himself and ended up eating the whole thing, which caused him to forever remember Olivio’s as the biggest burrito around. It’s worth every bite!

We had the carnes asada fries and two puposas for the table. I then had the carnitas super burrito(basically with everything). The meal is cheap and delicious and super filling. I ended up taking the burrito to go because if I had eaten it there, i wouldn’t have been able to move for at least two hours. I will be back!

Was in the city with my nieces and they are the pickiest people to figure out where to get to lunch at, one is 10, other is 16 so I stopped giving suggestions and just said hey I’m not into going to McDonald or Burger King, so let’s figure something out, they both said with let’s get Mexican food, well hot damn we have a goal. Whipped out my Unilocal App to look up what was in our area and less the mile away was Olivo’s, after checking out the reviews & photos this looked like the place we were headed to. We got there found a table and checked out the menu. The 10 year old ordered a bean and cheese burrito and French fries, hey it’s what she wanted, it keep her happy and I was the cool aunt for getting it for her haha. The 16 year old ordered 3 carne asada taco combo came with beans & rice. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos & a carne asada tostada combo with beans and rice. We all ordered a soda, it comes in bottle or can. The 10 year olds food was gone before I knew it, and the 16 year old even put her phone down to get up her plate. My tacos & tostada was delsh, the meat was seasoned perfectly, and avocado was fresh, this was a great lunchtime meal This is a cash only place, so if that bothers you, then go somewhere else, just know you will be missing out on some great food. For our lunch it was 29 bucks! That right there is a banging deal! Service was fast and friendly too! If in the area, give Olivo’s a try

This is one of those under-the-radar Mexican-Salvadorean restaurants peppering our ethnically diverse city, and I keep stumbling upon them. OK, ‘stumbling’ is not the right word because I’m always seeking out menudo. My tripe obsession needs to stop, but I continue on my quest in the wilds of the Tenderloin. OK, it’s not that wild on this stretch of Larkin, just a little gamey if you know what I mean. Funny thing is I’ve discovered all sorts of meals in the vicinity — Little Henry’s Italian Food, Aria Korean American Snack Bar, Yemeni’s — not all great but interesting culinary adventures. Anyway, I came here with the hope of menudo, but alas, it was not meant to be as I was there on a Monday evening, and they weren’t willing to gather some bone scraps for me. Instead, I went for the large $ 8.99 bowl of Caldo de Res, beef soup to all you monolingual peons, and while not quite as chewy as a satisfying bowl of menudo, it came close with big chunks of tender beef and vegetables(including chayote) treading in a hearty broth(photo: ). It was deliciously rural, especially with a stack of warm tortillas(photo: ). I made a futile attempt at putting together makeshift beef tacos, but the back splash was too much for my shirt to bear. Thinking the soup was not going to be enough, I also ordered a couple of the $ 4.99 Carnitas Soft Tacos, which were liberally topped with chunks of roast pork, chopped onion and cilantro(photo: ). Good but not quite as good as the soup, and frankly I was getting filled up at that point. The service was a bit spotty as it took quite a while before they recognized I was going to be a paying customer. Oh well, I’ll shout next time like the snaggle-toothed guy with the shopping cart outside. FOOD — 4 stars… the beef soup is great on a wintry evening, the carnitas tacos just pretty good AMBIANCE — 3 stars… typical Tenderloin diner set-up SERVICE — 3 stars… slow at first but picked up once the food came TOTAL — 4 stars… I’ll probably come back for the menudo… I can’t help myself
