Not sure why I didn’t read the reviews before I came but mom wanted to be here so it happened. Thought the waitress was pretty rude with a bad attitude overall even when they weren’t busy. Feel like 15 percent was already overtipping her. She’s more rude if you speak her dialect, seeing that English isn’t her strong area, you get better responses if you stick with the English. There’s some attitude going on every time you speak with her, not sure why she’s just throwing back words unnecessarily. Lol she appears to be a nice petite girl on the outside tho, so it seems the other reviews had warned about her. Don’t judge a book by its cover! We got lucky to come here on a colder night, so something warm was nice. Not busy only 3 tables were filled. Water is filled 2⁄3rd to begin with and good luck if you’re having the spicy soup because the waitress doesn’t fill water. Lol, I started drinking other people’s cups. The place seems clean, soup was ok, seems like precooked so like a lot of people said its kinda like you’re just making extra work by throwing stuff in yourself keeping stuff slightly warm from the pot. I think it’s ok that way at least you can cook your beef the way you like it. Cost is ok, we ended up spending $ 20/person. Cash only is ridiculous for today’s standards of any typical restaurant especially in this neighborhood and not tenderloin. One of us had to walk to the bank to get cash haha Not a place that I would be dying to come back though. We had left overs for another meal so maybe i would come back to try another flavor soup but next time sharing one pot like these other dudes I saw sharing is smarter. But then I’d add some appetizers and maybe have dessert. Hopefully by then they improve on their attitudes and give hydration to customers. Lol

First time I went there I was with my boyfriend and let me just tell you how terrible their service is! The waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be workin there, she kept on rushing me to order, like god damn give me some time! I finally made my order and our food never came! The people who came in after us have already gotten their food after they sat down but our food took over 45 minutes! They make their soup base out of powder so I really don’t understand why it’s so hard to just make us our food. And when our food finally came. Guess what, we found hair in my boyfriend’s pot. Screw this place!

It was very good. The place is on the corner but it is very small. I went with a friend and we got fried chicken wings and one of the pots. It was nice to go to one other person. Small and intimate.

It’s cheap, delicious, and fast. The place is very small and it usually get super busy. I would say the customer service isn’t that great because there’s only 1 girl working and it just gets so busy. No complaints on the food because it’s usually super filling and the broth is delicious.

It’s cheap, it’s tasty, and it’s a lot of food. Part of the reason I keep coming back is because I think their broth is delicious and because I can pay about $ 10 for an instant food coma. It’s individual hot pot and although the sides don’t come with a lot(you get about 3 – 4 slices of meat or like 2 tofu puffs), the noodles that does come with the hot pot can be very filling for one person. I like the pork bone broth, the tomato broth, and the fish broth. You can choose a set broth that comes with already fixed sides or customize your own set and choose your own sides. When the food comes, make sure to immediately put in all your ingredients in the pot so that it can cook. The fire doesn’t last that long so don’t wait. The snacks are pretty good too. We wanted to try the jellyfish but they didn’t have any that day so we got the spicy beef tendons instead. It looked like bacon strips almost and it was covered in crushed peanuts and green onions. A little bit chewy but quite good. Even better when you put it in the hot broth because then it becomes instantly soft and adds a nice spicy taste to the broth. Cash only. It gets crowded in the evening and the wait can be a bit long(and you probably have to wait in the cold since the restaurant doesn’t have that much space). We came before the dinner rush at around 5:30pm. They have a bathroom for customers and if you want water, you have to ask. Service is usually just one waitress and so sometimes it might take awhile.

I ordered the costomized set with 5 side dishes. I think the portion of the side dish are very small because we got the huge pot with a lot of noodle. I ordered slice beef and it came with 3 tiny slices, even the beef ball it came with one and half balls. For the soup I choose pork bone broth which tasteless and left a hint of instant soup base which come with instant noodle. In my opinion, the price is good for the portion but the pot is too big that make it look empty when you add everything in your pot.

I chose to go to one boiling pot on one of the worst raining day of March because it would be a good idea to eat something very warm. When I got there, there were four or five parties waiting outside. The place was very small and it ended up taking us 45min to an hour to have a seat. I ordered pot no.2, with sour pickle soup broth and my boyfriend ordered the same, but with tomato broth. Both were very good, I am so obssesed with tier soup broth and I keep coming back. There were only 1 server and for the whole time and she was very busy. I would definitely come back again, maybe choose another day because in terms of the size of the restaurant, it would not be a good experience if the customer kept waiting in outside the restaurant for so long.

This place took over what used to be 37 degrees(dessert place). It’s now mainly a restaurant that does hot pot. But they also have some snacks, various drinks, and still make the shaved ice that 37 degrees was known for! There are 11 broth sets to choose from that range from $ 8.95−11.95. Each set is fixed with specific sides but they also have the option for you to choose your own sides for 8.95, 9.95, or 10.95 depending on if you get 3, 4, or 5 sides respectively. The restaurant has 4 tables that seat four people against the right side, 3 tables that seat 2 people, and two tables on the left side right by the entrance that seat a table of four and a table of two which is super crammed. I know because my friend and I sat at the table of 2 next to a party of four. But the waitress offered to move us to a bigger table after a party left and we agreed since we didn’t order anything yet. They also have a bar area with stools but the counter space is taken up by restaurant materials so you can’t really sit there. I ordered the House Supreme Pot(number one) and chose the pork bone broth. Apparently number one and number two are the only ones where you can pick a broth flavor. Every other one comes with a broth flavor picked out already. Food comes and the portions weren’t that big for the sides but there’s definitely a lot of noodles! By the end of my meal, both my friend and I were pretty stuffed. The pork bone broth was tasty as well. Very creamy and not too much of a salty flavor which was good. Will definitely be back here! Lastly, this place is cash only!

3.5STARS. This place is surprisingly pretty good. It is pretty similar to Boiling Pot and The Flame in terms of eating out of your own hot pot, which is good for germophobes. There are many hot pot sets on the menu, which are all different kind of broths and items that compliment each other for a meal. There is also an option of customizing everything. Every broth comes with a handful of noodles and bean sprouts already in the pot. When all your items come to the table, you’re asked to dump everything into the pot because the flame only lasts about 10 minutes. I found it to be an interesting concept. The main reason why I come back is because of their soup! Their pork bone broth is just amazing, it’s almost addicting. The broth is so flavorful, yet it doesn’t taste like there was any MSG in it. I’ve also tried the tomato and spicy broth which were okay. The items on the menu aren’t best in quality. In fact, a lot of the meat is frozen… But it’s actually not bad for the price($ 9-$ 12 depending on how many items you want). You can add a side of 6 – 8 slices of beef for only $ 1.50. Though it seems like there’s not much food that comes with the pot, it’s actually pretty filling. The downside to this place is the service. There’s always only one girl working every time I come here and she always seems to be struggling. I came here about 45 minutes before closing and the waitress looked super mad when we walked in because it was still pretty busy. We asked for some hot sauce and she never brought it, so we went up to get it ourselves. Overall, I would recommend this place when eating out on cold days and it’s easy on the wallet.

I still like coming here, but after coming here a few times(and especially after last night’s visit) I decided I have to downgrade the star rating. It appears the restaurant has a different staffperson working every night. Generally they’re good, but I feel the one working last night was not. She did not seem very attentive at times. Also, I may be overreacting, but I did not appreciate her telling me to stand outside in the cold whole waiting for a table when I was sitting on a stool and didn’t feel I was in anybody’s way, especially since I was by myself. One reason I chose to go last night was because I felt like I caught a bit of the chill earlier in the day, and just standing in the cold was the last thing I wanted to do. Anyway, I’ll probably find myself still coming here just because it’s in the part of town where I live. It’ll be a roll of the dice as to how the service turns out each time I guess. That is, unless I find a similar place I like at least equally buy with more consistent service.

Brought my family here on a Thursday night for dinner. The place was okay filled. There was no wait for a table for 4. It’s a small little place but don’t be fooled, the food is good! We ordered 2 pork bone soup pots and a satay beef pot. My grandma and I really enjoyed the pork bone broth. For me, it was flavorful and rich, but not too salty which is great. The noodles were really tasty and also everything else that was in the pot for the #1. We also ordered the grilled squid. The sauce it has on top is really tasty. its sweet and spicy but just a tad bit too spicy for my preference. But it was still really good. one note that i did notice that the squid isn’t grilled because when it came out it was room temperature and not hot. I also noticed that some Unilocalers pointed out that the service wasn’t great, but for my expierience, she was really nice, even when my over the top mother asked her a bunch of silly questions. –_– and to be the ONLY waitress there, she was really nice and professional. props to you girl.

Who doesn’t like customizing their own little pot?! Anywho, this place is similar to the flame(on Clement Street in SF) and boiling point(in San Jose), as opposed to shabu or hot pot. They have some pre-customized sets, theres roughly 11 of those and then you can choose to create your own pot. I opted out of the pre-customized choices and create my own 5-item pot. You can choose either 3, 4 or 5 items. I love meat so I ordered 2 beefs, 1 pork belly, 1 imitation crab and 1 enoki mushroom with the pork bone broth. It also comes with cilantro, peanuts, chives and a quail egg. The broth is super flavorful(in my opinion, not yours). I haven’t been to boiling point before, so for those who have, don’t compare my experience with yours at boiling point. When is it a good time to come? Well, I came around 5:30 on a Wednesday night and it was pretty chill and the service was really quick. Our server was super patient and explained to us how the customization works. Tapioca Lovers: THEYHAVECRYSTALBOBAHERE! Finally, I almost lose it when I found out that Super Cue stopped having it because their distributors stopped giving it to them. **Tip: put ALL your food in as soon as the pot of soup comes BECAUSE the flame will die down and don’t start complaining about your food didn’t cook or it’s still raw. I gave you this tip, please use it for your own good :)

Not a fan. Super close, cramped quarters, virtually no air circulation, and mediocre food. Think of this place as an individual hot pot joint, with offerings of pre-set or ala cart menu options. I went for the $ 10.95 House Spicy Broth. Soup itself had a spicy kick once it hit my throat, but was otherwise flavorless. It came with a few beef slices, beef balls, beef tendon, mushrooms, a quail egg, and fried bean curd; no substitutions allowed. The pot arrived filled with the broth, noodles, and bean sprouts. The trick here is that there really isn’t much to the accompaniments(read: 3 or 4 slices of beef, 1.5 beef balls, 3 pieces of bean curd, etc.), but they give you a ton of noodles to fill you up. Noodles were lai-fun, like a rice spaghetti noodle, which just in general are not my fav. They also tell you to toss in your meat first, probably because they are aware that the flame under each individual pot dies out quickly. All this to say that, believe it or not, I wouldn’t be vehemently opposed to giving One Boiling Pot another go. I’d just opt(and suggest to you) to order ala cart and select a different soup base.

Got here around 7PM and luckily my friend and I got the last available table. I had high expectations for this place because of the reviews — but honestly I’ve had way better. The service is terrible, there’s only one girl running around to each table doing everything, from serving to taking orders to getting the checks and cleaning tables. Given, the place is pretty small, but still. Come on. In the kitchen there’s maybe 2 – 3 women preparing the food and one lady doing all the checks behind the cashier I ordered the House Supreme Pot w/herbal chicken soup and it was alright. The waitress kept telling me to just dump everything into my pot right when it came out, but I wanted to wait and she kept urging me to, so I finally did it. What I don’t understand is why they dont just put everything in there for you if they’re just gonna tell you to do it yourself right when you get the plate?! The soup was tasted but can definitely taste a lot of seasoning and the meat/veggies was mediocre. There was no water refill, lots of «one second’s(with the finger motion)» and sadly to say, I don’t think I’ll be returning. Dont get it twisted, this place is no boiling point or shabu house. It seems like it wants to be somewhere between those, but they have A LOT of work to do. I would start with some ventilation to begin with cause it feels like a sauna in there, and simply propping the door open is not enough. Another downside is that they’re cash only… soooo yup. Your call!

I happened to pass by this place which used to be 37 Degrees, but now has reopened to One Boiling Pot Mixian Noodles. It has only been opened for a week the waitress told me. It is great concept for a personal hot pot for one person where you can choose a broth and choose any combination of sides dishes. you can pick your own 3 side, 4 side or 5 side dishes. The price ranges from $ 9 – 12. If you can’t decide you can pick from a pre-set menu of 11 types of hot broths selection. Today I was hot and wanted snow ice which I chose $ 4.50 Mango Snow Ice that had tadpole, Mango and sweet potato ball. It was okay and it made me feel cool on this hot day. So it made me happy. I will come back next time to try a hot pot on a cold day and try the cumin lamb skewers. :-) FYI: Cash Only

It’s a cute neighborhood restaurant. It used to be a dessert place but this addition of hot pot adds more variety to Taraval. Lucky that I stumbled upon a friend who tipped of their grand opening day. Mom felt lazy to cook, so whyyyy not? Cozy place with about 8 tables or so. A TV for your convenience left on the TVB channel for those into the HK drama stuff(aka my mom). Their kitchen is small and you can see most of their preparation. I guess it’s hard to come from a dessert to a full on restaurant. Staff were nice and they tried their best to make us happy :) It seemed like it was family owned and so they were comfortable working with each other and making things happen. So if you haven’t figured it out yet, this is not the AYCE hot pot version. This is the more popular individualized hot pot. YAAA, this style is spreading everywhereee! So, they have about 8 different hot pot styles. No worries, if not into hot pot, they also have some noodle bowls without soup and lots of appetizers. Of course we were here for the hot pot, so I ordered the Pork Broth soup. Pork broth came with white spaghetti like noodles in the soup(sorry, don’t know the correct name). The ingredients came on a separate plate. Presentation wise was neat. It reminded me somewhat of Jazz Cat. Anyhow, the side ingredients were: spam, lettuce, fish ball, quail egg, brisket, tofu skin and meat sauce. It was an interesting array of things. Fyi, different soup broths have different ingredients. My mom ordered the Ginseng Broth and my brother the House Spicy. Soup broths were great in that it was promising of flavor. Pork broth was amazingly creamy. Ginseng broth was full blown ginseng. My mom loves that kind of stuff so it was perfect for her. House spicy was also amazingly spicy. He ordered the mild, which was spicier than the spiciest level of Boiling Point and The Flame, so he says. In addition to our pots, we ordered a small appetizer, jelly bean curd. It was different than how we were used to tasting. Our expectations was to bite into a soft jello-like substance, but instead it was hard, like cheese. Anyhow, the sauce was very good though, like spicy Tawainese-like. I wasn’t able to finish my soup. I was close, but it was just a lot of noodles. Not saying it’s a bad thing since many other places give you so little. Thumbs up for providing lots of soup, too. Lastly, they offer dessert here, too. We ordered the green tea shaved snow with red bean and various other boba/jelly. Delicious, no way that could go wrong. Overall, I do love this place. My broth was yummy and I was full. On a rainy or gloomy day, I can imagine myself coming here and then swing by Super Cue just a few stores up. I hope they stay here for long and keep improving! Couple suggestions: — Give people the option to choose what kind of noodles they want in their broth(wasn’t too big of a fan of the white spaghetti like noodles) — The ingredients could use more, more veggies, more meat. Even if inexpensive, add more.
