I took a couples contact improve class with Ember and Andres. Their guidance was intimate, experiential and created a very sacred space for us to explore movement and intimacy as a couple. I would love to see even more flow demonstrated by the two of them, experienced improv pros! That would inspire me to take it further. They are both energetic, warm and provide a very safe nest to explore sacred relating through touch and movement.

This dynamic duo rocks! I have had the pleasure of learning much about body movement therapy and myself in relationship through my contact improv experiences with Ember and Andres! They are both incredibly knowledgeable and sensitive and I have always felt totally supported and safe with them — willing to push beyond where I think my edge is. Ember’s playfulness and Andres’ steadfastness are a lovely compliment. If you are looking for a unique experience to facilitate opening(either with a friend, lover, or just as a treat to yourself), I highly recommend attending one of their workshops!!!

As a long time mover and appreciator of the kinetic arts, I find Ember and Andres Partner flow workshop to be right up my alley. In hind sight the genius of this workshop seems like an intuitive no brainer, yet as far as I know this is one of the only workshops of its kind. Partner Flow creates an almost synesthetic bridge between ones relationship and ones body, incorporating concepts such as trust, play, strength, commitment and balance. These aspects are tangible in the body and therefore by proxy in the relationship, and working through them using your body instead of your words can cast whole new perspectives on ones relationship. Beware though, this workshop can sometimes bring up whats not working in your relationship as well. However that is often the point as it allows you to then meet at those places with your lover in a communicative and safe space when the exercises are over. My one and only critique and the reason I don’t give this workshop a 5 point rating is that in my experience, more time could be taken to confidently create a space for relationship issues to come up. Since this workshop is still so new, I’m sure that will change as they hone and perfect its presentation. Long time Contact improvisers will appreciate this healing twist on a wonderful dance, and those inexperienced will get a fun workout unlike any other.

Contact improvisation was one of those intimidating but alluring things that I only observed from far away until I met Andres. His enthusiasm for all things ‘body movement’, paired with Ember’s always present empathy and support attracted me to the new genre of body movement called partner flow. I had a couple of wonderful afternoons moving with them, learning about my body and getting really excited about the possibilities of opening through movement with my partner. I recommend this as a ‘non-verbal’ tool to allow for playfulness and openess with one’s partner, lover, or group of friends. This is a great anniversary treat, an efficient reconnection strategy, and above all an amazing way to expand one’s possibilities of communications with their partner.
