Orkin Exterminating Company

I just had Orkin come by for an ant infestation throughout our building’s garden that made its way thru to our apartment.
The representative was kind, respectful and did a great job. I really appreciated his workmanship.
I have removed a star because the company’s idea of business is to get in the door with a fee but automatically charge you for 6 more visits throughout the year as a follow up. So for a small infestation of ants, I would have ended up paying $ 749.
Thankfully, I was able to only get charged for this first visit but it seems that they are pretty strict about «requiring”/customers «needing» all those follow up visits for the amount of $ 99 each.
It seems that one might have been able to cancel the contract with the follow up visits but the truth is — who has time and wants to follow up with a company to cancel automatic payments from one’s credit card… etc.
I want my ants removed and forget about it — not then have to get rid of the Company too.

I knew that I wasn’t going to get the best experience but for the price, I should get better service. Well for one, it is the most expensive pest companies but I was desperate and needed someone to come the next day. I have on 3 different occasions ask for covering for the trap because one of the staff members told me they had them and still no covers. I have an 8 month old who is about to start crawling and I feel that they should offer baby safe traps. Secondly, our service person placed so many traps and did not tell us where (didn’t even remember when he returned) where he placed them. We managed to find some only because something fell and got stuck to our clothes/​towels/​other belongings that have been tossed away. And lastly and most importantly, the last visit, he came in tracking in the dirt, mud, and dog poop/​pee throughout our house without any acknowledgment of this. There is a dog park in front of our house and we saw him walk through this muddy patch. As I said, I have a BABY!!! Don’t they have covers for their shoes???
