Amazing time at pagoda bar with the wonderful sweet bartender who seemed to be the owner. We were in town from LA. This reminds me of an LA spot. There is a terrible song collection, it really should be updated, but other than that, it was extremely enjoyable comfortable to sing in this kind of setting without embarrassment. The lady also gratuitously complimented me and my friends singing voices, I was so delighted. Would recommend for anyone wanting to sing a bit!

My girlfriend and i were greeted with crap like you so pretty why no boyfriend blah blah. I constantly heard people singing outside and the karaōke machine had such a limited selection of songs. The lady took my ccard before we even started and we ordered a shot at 10/each, which was fine if it was a legit shot. The shot glass was not a full shot if you look at it under the light, it was only half a shot at most it caught my attention because it was finished too fast and didn’t make sense. My gf ordered another shot, so I paid 20 bucks for one shot. Why didn’t I just get a bottle of vodka for 15 – 18 at safeway? I wouldn’t have been annoyed if the shot glass was legit and how shady this place came off. I know alcohol is expensive when you go out, but 20 bucks for a shot? I was expecting a full shot, not half a shot in one of those tricky shot glasses.

This bar is very chill and great if you feel like hiding out underground, literally. There’s a full bar which includes Sierra Nevada pale ale beer. My friends and I showed up after the Cherry Blossom Festival and the place was pretty empty and therefore quiet, but there was a jukebox with classic artists including Michael Jackson and Tupac. Again, I recommend this place if you feel like ducking out from the sometimes crowded streets of Japantown.
