There are many things I would give up in my life if I absolutely had to. Philip is not one of them. I kid not. I have been making the trek across the bay bridge to see Philip because I want nothing less than the best color for my hair. Its better than the original color and much healthier feeling. As I read the other reviews, I realize that Philip and my special bond is not unique: everyone loves him. He really cares about you and your hair color and is satisfied with nothing less than perfection. When the occasional color does not stick long enough or a new product is not up to snuff, he insists and always accommodates me for a touch up. I have very particular friends and all who I have sent his way have been completely satisfied — blonde, brunette, whatever — and completely hooked. I know I am going to have to come to grips with my grayness someday, but it may have to be when Philip retires. God help us all!
He is currently made his home at Metamorphosis on Market — a colorful fun atmosphere with a lot of lovely, creative hair specialists. Its always a good time!

Philip Duman has been taking care of my haircolor needs for almost 25 years! I can’t believe it, either. He is that fantastic, I travel from the East Bay 3 – 5 times a year to see him. I’m finally getting around to writing my review of Philip, and like many other who have reviewed him, I’ve been seeing Philip for my color for YEARS. That should tell you something right there: he has a loyal and lasting clientele.
Philip is truly masterful at what he does. He has a gifted eye for color and truly expert knowledge of what great and natural hair color actually looks like. He uses very high-​quality products so I never worry that I am damaging my hair with color treatments.
Ever the artist, Philip is always looking for ways to improve what he does, whether it’s a slight tweak to my color or the addition of a few highlights or lowlights to improve the overall look of my hair. I truly appreciate the extra effort he gives time after time.
Best of all, Philip is a quality person. He is lighthearted and fun to be around, but he’s also anchored in authenticity and sincerity. Philip cares about his clients; I recommend him without hesitation!

It’s easy to schedule your appointments with Philip by phone or email and he’s great with time management. The salon is also very pleasant and spacious and the owner and staff are always friendly and welcoming.
