This place is amazing! I live so close and I’m so sad I just found out about it now! Their mochas are to die for and their toasts def hit the spot! Try their Breakfast Little! Their bittersweet mocha tasted like dark chocolate and wasn’t too sweet and wasn’t even bitter! Their spicy mexican mocha was the perfect amount of spice(and i can’t take any spicy at all). It hits the back of your throat but it was really really good. Andrew is super nice and welcoming!

Is there a name for mom and pop shops, but with cute single male proprietors? Since I know that’s not enough to make this place deserve a perfect rating, the food is amazing. Imagine open faced sandwiches with themes like King Kong(bananas and Nutella), Spring toast(cucumber and cream cheese), and awesome French toast. The bread is locally sourced and Andrew, the owner, keeps it a close secret. The unique espresso drinks, like Señorita, Mexican hot chocolate, make this place a destination alone. Luckily, we have family in Vis Valley, making it much easier to stop by. Piccolo Petes is the kind of place that makes me love the city and wish I lived here so I could walk over and eat here every day!

It’s a cute little café, with an interesting menu. The cool guy in there(from the reviews his name is Andrew) was awesome and gave me suggestions — I wanted to get two Little Breakfasts, but he suggested I try a King Kong toast too. Awesome!!! I gave that one to my cousin before trying it, she let me have a bite, and I instantly regretted not choosing it for my own. So good! Don’t be like me and confuse it with the deli next door — it all says Picollo on the building!

Had a project in Visitation Valley got there a little early. Tons of little Asian spots, but nothing really open early in the morning. So happy I checked Unilocal and found Piccolo Pete’s. Service was great and so was the coffee. It took a while, since the espresso machine was down one spout, but the barista was nice and apologized to everyone waiting. The place is tiny, so the line was out the door. Food looked yummy, but I didn’t have enough space in my tummy to try. What’s interesting is that’s it’s attached to Pete’s Piccolo Deli. Very old school deli with hot prepared food too. Don’t think they’re owned by the same folks, since café is hipster’ish and the deli is true old school. If you’re ever in this part of town, it’s a good spot to stop.
THISISNOWMYFAVORITEPLACE YOUMUSTTRYITFORYOURSELF THEFOODISFRESH The presentation of the food was five star The whole place is magical from the flavors of the fresh foods to the flavor of the coffee the whole experience of this very small neighborhood café is an unbelievable experience you must try it for yourself and once you do you’ll tell all your friends there prices are good to so grab a girlfriend and go get a bite to eat or the hubbie

I have heard great reviews prior to coming in, so my friends and I decided to come in. I noticed how small the interior, so it is definitely more of a pick-up place. Don’t let that throw you off tho. The interior was beautiful and I loved it. The employees(Christine and Andrew) were very friendly and took the time to try to conversate with their guests. Now onto the foods, mind you this was my first time here. I tried the King Kong toast, which had chocolate hazlenut spread, banana, walnuts, and condensed milk! It was delicious! The walnuts gave it a great crunchy contrast. For the coffee, I had the Señorita which is sweet cream base. I got it hot, although I think it would have tasted better iced. If you like sweet, i highly recommend this. Overall, I highly recommend this place! Great food, great workers, and a plus is that they make/grind their own coffee!!!

So happy this place opened! I needed a cute café like this in my neighborhood bad, especially now that I’m out of Nespresso capsules and I’m too lazy to buy new ones. Came here over the weekend right before the closed. Didn’t realize they closed so early! I got the King Kong Toast and the Spicy Mexican Iced Coffee. You can get any of their drinks iced! I got the large like I always do and didn’t finish it like usual. The toast was bomb!!! I want to try all their toasts. I hope is the future they have vegetarian options for their savory toast like mushrooms instead of bacon. The owner is the nicest ever I want to be besties with him is how much I like him. He is like a big teddy bear but also looks like he could beat someone up if they tried to rob him. The best of both worlds!!! I wanted to check out the deli after for sandwiches but they’re closed on Sunday!

This place is a must. It is hidden, really small and cash only but completely worth it! We ordered an iced latte, cinnamon french toast and the ‘not your moms PB& J’ and everything was delicious! Let me start with the ambiance it was adorable, with a rustic vintage-y décor and only two tables the home style feel is completely evident. The owners are welcoming and have great customer service! I am slow at making decisions and he patiently waited while I pondered each item on their 5 item menu offering guidance when needed. He also steamed our iced lattes for us, this is something that not many people know but that’s the trick to an absolutely perfect iced latte. It adds a frothiness to the milk that elevates the awesomeness, most coffee shops don’t bother. That in addition to freshly ground espresso made for a perfect latte to get my day going. All I’m saying is you should come here!

Great coffee, great food and very friendly service. I tried the not your mom’s pb & j and man was it delicious. I will be coming back to try other things from the menu. It’s good to have a coffee spot around the neighborhood to.

Only seating for four; two tables. This is a very relaxing place to sit and sip. Andrew is most friendly and the brews are strong.

Finally made it here after reading the positive reviews on Unilocal and they are well-deserved. I introduced myself to the owners, Andrew and his mother Emma, and received a genuinely warm and friendly vibe from them. They offer a deliciously curated menu for breakfast and coffee with reasonable prices and the flavor reflects a local, cultural feel with their BREAKFASTLITTLE sandwich served on pan de sal bread with an optional SRIRACHA sauce(must get) and SPICYMEXICANCOFFEE available from their drink menu. I tried the SEÑORITA coffee(with sweet cream base) and loved it, even though I don’t like sweet drinks. The BITTERSWEETMOCHA had a subtle sweet flavor that wasn’t overwhelming and I loved that, too. I will definitely come back and support this local café especially since the owners are so down to earth and welcoming and will try other coffee options on their menu. I hear the MOLLETETOAST can be made carb-free and will order that next time. NOTE: Cash only but there is an ATM next door at the main Piccolo Pete market. PARKING: Street parking only.

If you’re looking for a delicious, filling, and quick bite to eat PLUS that morning caffeine kick, look no further! Piccolo Pete’s Café, located just on the top corner of the original Piccolo Pete’s has a coffee menu with classic espressos/lattes. But don’t forget to try their unique flavors like their sweet cream«señorita» or their«spicy Mexican mocha» to get your day starting off on the right foot! Their spicy Mexican mocha reminds me of a Mexican hot chocolate with just the right amount of a spice! I dropped by on a Sunday morning with the family and we were able to try a few of the yummy small plates! Luckily, they serve 5 different flavors of French Toast on Fridays, saturdays, and Sundays! This is a must have when you want a sweet morning treat! We also tried the«Mollete» which I was a little scared my tummy wouldn’t be full from that, but I definitely underestimated just how filling it would be! Nothing but savory! I had just enough room left to try the«breakfast little» sandwich that really sounded like just the perfect breakfast sandwich. And it was! Served in a pan de sal roll, it reminded me of the breakfast sandwiches my mom used to make! Will definitely be back when I’m in the area, even just to stop by and say hello to the awesome owner, Andrew!

Seniorita 10⁄10. Perfect amount of sweetness(sweet but not overpowering the coffee taste) Spicy Mexican mocha 10⁄10. Has a kick to it! But manageable and very tasty. Almond French toast 8.7÷10. Great crunch on the outside and chewiness on the inside, wish it were crispier but that’s just me. Ham & cheese French toast 7⁄10. Same as above but in my opinion, would taste better as just a sandwich. Cool concept though. Andrew is a great guy to talk to! Created all the food recipes on his own. Overall a great place run by a man, his mom and his niece.

I first came here last year of 2014 when it was only 2 weeks old. The manager mentioned that this coffee shop has reopened after it has been closed for a couple of years. The coffee shop is fantastic. Andrew, the manager/barista of this place is eager to serve good quality service by asking the customer’s taste. His food is incredibly delicious and he always try to reinvent certain recipes for the menu. Furthermore, the prices of the coffee and the food are very reasonable. I’m proud to say I’m a regular customer of this coffee shop. This is probably one of the few places in San Francisco where the staff would make their customers feel comfortable with a friendly, warm, welcoming vibe. It feels home to be here. I highly recommend this place.

Step 1 — Bring Cash Step 2 — Decide what you want to order Step 3 — Don’t Speak… Just Eat I found Piccolo Petes Café because a friend of mine said that the owner duplicates a grown up version of Corine’s Pizza. Apparently the owner once attended my old elementary school and used to visit the same little corner store named Corines which sold this now nostolgic«pizza roll» we all used to love. Unfortunately Corine’s closed years ago, but my friend said that Piccolo Pete’s version tasted pretty legit to the infamous pizza roll so I had to visit asap! When I arrived, I found a small(fitting only about 4 people at the most) cute little café. After looking at the menu I decided to order the Pizza Roll(duh), Breakfast Little(not so little, not complaining), and a Señorita Coffee. Each and every item was delish! The pizza roll tasted pretty legit… oozing with cheese just like I remembered it. The Breakfast Little(egg, bacon, cheese, garlic aioli on a pan de sal with siracha) was yummy as well. The Seniorita coffee really hit the spot for the start of my Saturday morning and was just the right amount of sweet and creamy. Customer service was great! The owner was very down to earth and made sure we were happy with all that we ordered. A definite applause and recommendation for this cute little find.

Love this place! Great service, great coffee. The spring toast(cucumber/cream cheese/thick toast) with a cup of joe is my go to breakfast. But the cinamon twist french toast, fridays & saturdays only, is soooo good too! Quality Coffee and specialty drinks. No high fructose crap here! Creative too. I love the bittersweet mocha, not too sweet, just right. Conveniently located off 101, so I’m on and off the freeway in no time to get to work!
