Picky has some really nice designs. Yes, as some reviewers have noted, some things are very colorful. But, I think that people see just the couple of things in the windows, and don’t bother looking to see what else they have. And what do they have you ask? Well, let me tell you. There’s designs by a rotating cast of quite a few local designers, working in wool, felt, cotton, and any other material you can think of. And yes, their designs are not all blindingly bright, so don’t be scared off by the other reviews, and come to see for yourself. And no, not all things are 250 – 400, the prices are quite reasonable for a shop full of unique local fashion that’s not mass-produced and that you, pretty much guaranteed won’t be able to find anywhere else. I’m a guy, and I have a couple of their printed shirts for myself, and there are things by different designers I’ve bought there as presents, whose recipients have uniformly loved them. So yeah, don’t take other reviews for gospel, go and see for yourself. I’d give it four stars, but I want to balance out the two/three star ones a bit, as I feel they’re being unfair.

Not just for Women!!! I like Picky, I have been in a few fashion shows and had the pleasure of wearing the Picky line. They have some very exciting ideas for shirts and one should embrace it. Its a little funky, but if you own it on the runway people will love it! I love it!

The locations is amazing and I think any boutique would be lucky to have this cool corner shop on Columbus. The designs, ehh, not my style what so ever. That said, I went ot a fashion show and got to see a ton of the work actually on people and ½ of it looked alright there was 2 dresses that were awesome. I would give it a shot for some nice local designer work. The pieces that are in the window are very loud and very bold, but I think overall there would be some more simple pieces that may appeal to a wider crowd. I doubt I’d ever buy anything from here, but if I do ever need a very bright, sexy cut simple dress then I would give it a try.

Reviewer Katie H. said that one should go to Picky if you have the desire to make your head explode. She is so so right! I walked inside and was assaulted by an array of photo-printed dresses and jersey shirts in primary and jewel tone colors on an assortment of horrible materials(primarily the danger that is Rayon!) I’m talking blue, green and purple faces on rayon halter dresses with bright yellow silk ties… that sort of stuff to make your head explode. Worst atrocity of all was a knee length(almost fleece) coat in that same multicolor photo print with a RAINBOW faux fur muff and trim. Oh dear lord(head explodes). And you can get these head exploding pleasures for $ 250 for most dresses and $ 400 for that rainbow colored coat. Oh joy!

If you feel that for any reason your head is in danger of exploding, think twice before entering this store. Because it will send you right over the edge and then we will have have brain matter scattered all over Columbus Ave which is no good, as the tourists and B&T crowd and everyone else minding their own beeswax might slip… but I digress. Why might your precariously intact head explode upon entrance to Picky? Oh, I don’t know. Maybe because you saw: 1. A multicolored, photo– printed dress– skin tight with exposed seams emblazoned with giant TROUT– yes, trout as in fish. 2. A multicolored, photo– printed t shirt– with… wait for it… ORANGEMESH sleeves– absolutely perfect for Pride, IMO. 3. And on the mannequin, the crowning glory! A multicolored, photo– printed(seeing the theme?) knee length coat, trimmed in faux fur that is gently tinged in a multitude of rainbow hues. They also have a large selection of Euro– fabulous jeans, and as the nice proprietor informed me, everything is handmade on site! Really, I don’t know who buys and wears this stuff. Obviously not me. Maybe off duty waiters from the Steps of Rome? But that is not the point, people! Go to Picky! Have your head exploded!

Picky is an amazing spot to find original designs that turn the body into a walking work of art. Especially for women(and men) who love their bodies and love to feel sexy and striking in their clothing, this is the place to find a shirt that you can pair with jeans and heels on any morning and instantly feel like the sidewalk outside your house has become your runway. Likewise, if you’re looking for a great slinky dress to kill ‘em cold for a night out, you’ll find it here. Good luck!
