I came here to get a pedicure and a lip wax. I was getting my pedicure from an older woman, which I’m always cautious of (rightfully). She did everything well, with a very thorough massage, except she didn’t dig out the nail that tends to become ingrown in my big toes, which is what I mainly get a pedicure for. I asked her nicely if she would do that, and she tried, but she couldn’t. Her coworker took over and did a good job, but my wax left me with a huge breakout and that’s never happened to me before.

Stopped by for a pedicure because I was in the area. First and last time I come here. They don’t spend enough time on the pedicure. They don’t use the heated lotion like other places. The woman also used very minimal lotion which made for a bad massage.
This probably isn’t their fault, but there is no cell service in the salon. So if you’re thinking you’ll be able to entertain yourself on your phone, you won’t.
Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else.

I tried this place again because it is just 2 blocks away from my home. This time Katrina agreed to wax me and did a splendid job. I was very happy with the mani+pedi also.

I have been a regular mani/​pedi customer (1−2x/month) for 5 years now. They usually can get you right in, and if there is a wait it’s most often never more than 10 minutes. They have a great color selection from a wide variety of polish brands and their gel prices are very reasonable. Nails always shaped perfectly, and my crazy cuticles trimmed without pain or tears. Clean environment. 2 thumbs up!

I went to get my upper lip waxed and it was sore, itchy, and burning after receiving the service. Even after 1 week. It is still hurting and red. I’ve taken ibuprofen and applied a cream. I have gotten my lip waxed numerous times before but this has NEVER happened. It’s so embarrassing and I won’t be returning here. They also pressure you to tip. :-/

I have been coming to relax nails for 15 years. They are fast, friendly and do wonderful work at a great price. There are tons of colors and kinds of polish. They work fast, but always do a top quality job. My polish lasts, and I won’t go anyplace else for my eyebrow wax. The shop and all equipment is impeccably clean, and the women that work there are so warm and welcoming. I’m lucky to live only a block away, but I would drive back if I ever left the neighborhood.

Best possible inexpensive manicure. They are clean and fast and friendly. The nail polish selection is better than anywhere else, especially for gel. They will do pedi and mani at the same time if they can to be faster, which is great if you are short on time. Some other reviewers have complained about the wait — unlike other places, they don’t lie to you when there’s a wait to make you stay. So if they tell you a 30 min wait, it will be a 30 min wait. I’d prefer the truth so I can plan my day.

Came here with a buddy on Saturday right after brunch, and it was wonderful!
The ladies were courteous and gentle, did an amazing job and didn’t take as long as other places I’ve been to.
We both got a pedicure, and our nails turned out perfect, perfectly shaped, cuticles were cut only a little bit and nothing felt rushed, harsh or hurried. They make sure the water temperature is good for you, have a wide selection of polish colors, it is a small and clean place, they have a restroom for customers should you need it and take cards.
The massage chairs are the best I’ve ever experienced, the price is really good for what you get! I will definitely go back the next time I need my toes pampered!

I have been going to Relax nails since it opened in 2000, Carlina and her team are friendly and do a great job! I had moved out of the country for the past 8 years and just recently returned, I was so happy to see that they were still here in the neighborhood (they were one of the 1st stops upon my return).
They have upgraded the menu choices and while I normally get the regular mani /​pedi combo, I just recently tried the gel nails and they did a great job shaping my nails and applying the gel (even better than the one I got in Asia that cost 3 times as much…)
So glad that they are in my neighborhood!!!

I went to Relax Nails for the first time. I needed a mani, pedi and wax baddddddd!!! I was the first customer and Carlina made me feel good. I’m definitely coming back. The service was excellent and the prices were fair.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to the Haight in 2003. I moved away in 2010 and tried other places in my new neighborhoods, but I quickly learned that I could not trust anyone besides Carlina with my eyebrows. She does the best waxing (of everything!) that I’ve ever had. I’ve referred several people here for waxing, mani’s and pedi’s (gels are great!), and they all love Carlina. I now live in Marin and cross the bridge just to come here.

Carlina is the best! I get my french gel nails done here and they’re always perfect and last for 3+ weeks. I used to break my nails/​chip my polish a lot, so I never got manicures very often until Carlina suggested I try gel. I love it — my nails are perfect, shiny, and strong. Plus they can always fit you in, are friendly, and have good prices. If you’re looking for a great nail salon in the Haight, you should definitely stop by.

When it comes to my nails, I’m extremely picky! When I moved to the city I decided to give this place a try because it was so close to my house. Good thing I did because I will not go anywhere else in the city.
Relax nails is on the more affordable side and they do an awesome job without the froo froo ambiance! They are super quick but always make sure that I leave with perfect nails.
I get a gel manicure done by Carolina every two weeks and I wont go anywhere else. She’s the best when it comes to gel!
Most nail salons in the city are over priced and do a mediocre job. Relax nails is affordable with a pleasant and talented staff.
I highly recommend it!

I’m super unimpressed with this place! First, the manicure I got was somehow both slow AND messy — the manicurist took forever, but still left an uneven coat and polish smeared around my nail beds. On top of that, she kept making snide comments about the fact that I choose to keep my nails very short. She observed that fact once, then later asked me if I bite my nails (nope), then finally told me that if I’m going to cut my nails short I should pick a lighter polish color. By the time she «finished» the manicure I was so eager to get out of there that I didn’t ask her to remove the excess polish.
I wasn’t looking for a relaxing spa experience, just a quick mani. I definitely wasn’t expecting to increase my level of stress at the nail salon, though! It’s been a long time since I had such an unprofessional service experience.

Love the ladies and service at RELAX NAILS. Been a client for 3 yrs. THEY DO A GREAT JOB especially on my dry, calloused feet with hammer toes on both. Feet are hideous but look beautiful and fresh when done. Finger nails are normal so no problems. I rate 4 stars because the shop is clean, small but not spa-​like so prices are fair. THE PICTURE IS OF MY OUTLANDISH TOES RELAX NAILS IS WONDERFUL ABOUT FIXING CALLUS’ and General foot mayhem !!!
