Richard La Cava

In what is obviously a painful process for whomever must proceed with it, I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job than Richard La Cava and his legal assistant, Sylvia, for their advice, professionalism, and assistance in completing the process to improve my financial situation. They were always available when I needed them and made me feel at ease with everything. I give them the highest recommendation for anyone seeking advice or counsel in regards to bankruptcy or other financial woes. Much appreciation to Richard and Sylvia!

We went there for a consultation regarding a bankruptcy case. We spent about half an hour with Richard and he seemed to be very knowledgeable. Normally a business man would try to give advice to clients that would bring business in, but Richard is different. He looked at the case and suggested not to file bankruptcy, because that wouldn’t be the best choice for us. We wanted to compensate for his advice and time, but he said: «I’ve served around 6000 clients so far and have never charged money for a consultation.». Not only great at what he is doing, but has excellent business ethics!!! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I love Richard! He is great and compassionate about his work and clients. I have used Richard a few times, and each time, he has been very informative. He is by far the cheapest attorney especially compared to others. Sylvia his assistant is great also. Keep up the good work!

Richard LaCava and his staff made a difficult situation bearable, him and his staff are knowledgeable, kind, and respectful. He was very affordable and was even available on a few Saturdays which made working a possibility even with our multiple meetings. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone :)

I was also new to all of this with no clue how to handle the mess I was in. Being disabled on top of losing everything my husband and i worked our lives to accomplish was to say the least overwhelming. We went from holding a comfortable nest egg, owning a home and perfect credit to foreclosure and bankruptcy. Quite a remarkable spiral to experience especially having 2 school age children. After meeting with Richard we felt we had some control over this unknown territory we were about to enter. His associate Laura with whom we had several contacts had a very calming affect that we so needed along with her knowledge of the process. Recently we had our creditor hearing along with several other unfortunate people in our same position not all clients of Richard. I was shocked to see that Richard was the only attorney to bother showing up to support his clients. To me this is very telling of the kind of man Richard is. I can not imagine going through that day without my attorney present but obviously several people were on their own. If you want an attorney who will literally stand by you call Richard La Cava ‘s office.

I was new to all this, and R. LaCava’s people helped me get through a Chapter 7 (or maybe it was a Chapter 13 — whatever one you repay partial). They made me feel as though I was going to be okay, as long as I made my monthly payments for 60 months with a money order, which I did and on time.
I cannot give a 5-​star rating only because the assistant talked like it was hard to ask him any questions. He reminded me of that teacher that made you afraid to ask questions because if you did, you’d get scolded. Maybe that was just my issue, but I think you know the kind of person I’m talking about.
After my payments were complete, they gave me free advice afterwards, making sure that I was careful with credit cards and to photocopy all of my post-​bankruptcy paperwork. They also offered recommendations on where to get a new car if I needed one. They suggested one or two Honda-​friendly dealers and a few others.

Made an appointment through Mr. La Cava’s office staff on the recommendation of a friend who had used his services a few years ago. Friendly, courteous, explained what documents were needed. Detail oriented. Mr. La Cava was VERY personable & professional; completely thorough in his explanations and left us knowing exactly what options were available. He is highly educated and knows his field exceptionally well. He also made sure the person I was helping understood her options (not just explaining them to me, but made sure she knew what was happening and her role.) I really appreciated his candor and would highly recommend him as a lawyer. Should this be the pathway, Richard is the only lawyer we would choose. A+

First I asked Richard about the reviewer who claimed he was made to pay 2500 after paying 1600. That reviewer was not truthful. I have completed a chapter 13 with Richard. It was by no means a simple case.
I kept the house, and the second was completely removed. I kept all my belongings, all the creditors were satisfied with no more calls. Or mail.
Richard and his staff made a terrible situation much easier to handle. No extra payments. I payed less for the bankruptcy than the two other places I interviewed, I didn’t get a bankruptcy any different than neither lawyers offered.
As to the reviewer who represented himself in court, if one represents himself he has a fool for a client.
It is easy for people to assess this place for themselves. You can call and in a few minutes after some basic questions they can tell if you qualify for a bankruptcy and will set up a chance for you to meet the attorney and to get a consultation. I did this, it was free, and very helpful. It removed a lot of my fears and I found out about the process which I didn’t know much about.
Anyway I had a very positive experience with the place, my finances are fixed, and I am surprised about the negative review. I payed less for my bankruptcy because I has so little money at the time. I am glad I went to Richard and glad I filed with his office.
I believe it is a good deal to offer a free consultation and if you are thinking about bankruptcy it will be well worth your time.

I totally disagree with Ben G… Richard La Cava was the best thing that happened to me during a terrible situation. Due to a business loss I was forced to file Chapter 13. His firm got me the best terms possible for a payback arrangement and went out of their way to help me. I have since recommended other people with financial worries to Richard.
FIVE STARS… Prompt, efficient and after talking to three other attorneys, the kindest most professional of any!

Absolute Rubbish. Horrible advice and all around poor consoltation experience. Told me to show up early, and then kept me waiting for 30 minutes. Also Tried to get me to file a chapter 13 which didn’t make any sense considering my situation. Had I followed his advice, I’d be in a much worse situation.
