Ruth Hoffman

Superb! I highly recommend Ruth’s private lessons. (I was taking lessons for blues dance, but she teaches other styles as well.) Before I took her classes, I felt like a lumbering Frankenstein’s monster on the dance floor. Every time I danced, I felt like I was tormenting my dance partners. After taking lessons from Ruth, while I’m still a beginner, I now feel skilled enough that I can really enjoy social blues dancing. She’s adept at both identifying why you’re having difficulty, and articulating what you need to do differently. She’s patient, but very good at judging when to push you to advance to something new. And exuberant! And goofy! Every lesson is full of laughs and smiles. I commend her classes to anyone who wants to get better at blues dancing.
