BEWARE GO TO ANY OTHER S.A.E. CAMPUS IN U.S. OR EUROPE/​INTERNATIONAL. BUT THIS ONE. YOU DON’T GET A DEGREE HERE for 20k+ jus sayin right upfront. not even associates. They’ll give you a job at comcast or psav which you can get on your own thru indeed or monster job board. SAE IS A GOOD INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITED SCHOOL BUT SAN FRANCISCO TEARS ITS GOOD NAME DOWN TO TO THE GROUND! I saw the pictures of other campuses and they look way better this campus does not have its act together. Overseas you spend less and get a BA. No. Would not reccomend. They better had got they act togethe by now atleast. PAUL SAVIO is a terrible teacher. he would rant on and on about non audio/​sound related things like his personal life. he would forget to teach us a crap load of material when the quiz came next monday we had NO idea and the class would get 50 or ⁶⁰⁄₁₀₀.
SANDY GREENFIELD got drunk and passed out in class. he would call my class mates names like faggot and crap.
Some of the supervisors hardly knew what the hell they were supposed to be doing. this one shorter guy JOSE or jorge that wore glasses would just walk around the halls saying he was bored and bragged about recording hip hop in the studio. never did anythin significant, one guy camron was ok, tough grader tho.
The studios were a joke. this guy JAMES CORTEZ was always running around talking about the grammies and crap. annoying guy. asked him for help and he didn’t even know what to do and he claimed he would get ⁹⁰⁄₁₀₀ on projects but was a b1tch when it came to actually knowing software.
Other students are soooo closd minded. if your not into Rap, Metal or Dub-​step then you don’t have a creative space here.

I work with a student here and have had a great experience every time. It’s dope to have access to high-​end equipment and get work done while helping students gain experience as well. So one of their best features is allowing visiting artists to come work with the students.

I recently received another email asking me how I feel about my education at SAE a year later. I am a little too busy to respond to individual emails, so I’m just going to put it here.
I must say I still stick to my opinion about SAE (read below this review). I still believe it is the best bang for your buck and what I learned there helped me tremendously in my career so far. I got hired to work at CMJ in New York City and SXSW in Austin, TX. I am currently starting my own mobile recording business and the knowledge I acquired at SAE made a big difference in not only getting various jobs, but also in obtaining an internship and building my arsenal of audio tools. My calendar is getting busier with each month and although that is 90% because of my own energy and drive (relentlessly looking for jobs and doing constant networking) I don’t think I would be where I am today without the knowledge I got from SAE’s Audio Technology Program.
The fact that I got gear to let me work on projects is extremely valuable to me. As of now all the samples on my website (
) are done with the computer, interface and software that I got from SAE. I also mixed a full length blues album (as an extracurricular activity) on my MacBook and currently that CD is being sold on Amazon and iTunes.
No, this is not SAE propaganda. There are other schools and programs in the Bay Area, but I still believe that if you simply attend the classes you will get NOTHING out of it (but some gear if you go to SAE). One must focus and be driven in order to learn. They are there to teach you, but only you can be passionate enough to want to learn.
In other words — getting your money’s worth of knowledge is ONLY up to you. It can be a colosal wate of money and time, or it could be a deciding factor in the success of your career. I chose SAE and I am pretty happy about that.
