This update is more about the entire office and not about Dr. So. I still believe he is very qualified and committed to glaucoma care. The laser treatments stopped working after 2 ¼ years so I am now trying out the more conventional treatment for glaucoma, eye drops. No fault of Dr. So’s. Just my eyes. But the office and the staff seems to have gotten more and more chaotic. I never have the same person give me my different tests(field vision, etc.). In fact, don’t recognize the same people. The turnover is huge and that’s disconcerting. The updated office gives absolutely no sense of privacy. If stress could add to eye pressure, all of us would be so stressed by the time we got to see the doctor. The last visit, the woman who did my testing, while not rude, was so cold and so uncaring and so distracted. It was as if I were a dummy subject. That said, if you don’t mind chaos, don’t mind people who don’t care about you as an individual and are looking only for a good doctor for glaucoma, Dr. So is good. If you want a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and people who can take time with you and answer questions, then you need a different office. You are a number here.

Dr. So did cateract surgery on me and left a piece of the cateract in. I was sent home and developed great pain and bleeding, and Dr. So reoperated the next day. He damaged my cornea, which resulted in two additional surgeries by other eye surgeons to correct the problem. After 2 years, I have not recovered my loss of depth perception and peripheral vision in that eye. I would not recommend Dr. So.

Dr. So practices at one of the busiest places I’ve ever been to, however, he does take his time with you. Due to a family history of eye problems I visit Dr. So and he makes sure my skull doesn’t crush my eye balls. Awesome! Not sure if prescribes the devil’s lettuce if that’s what you are looking for.
