If I could give zero stars I would. AVOID THIS DOCTOR!!! He is incredibly unprofessional and a scam! ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO USE YOUR INSURANCE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
I saw this doctor for two appointments. In the first we spent a good 15 minutes of our paid time interrogating my finances so he could decide what fee he would charge me at. After revealing a lot of personal information and explaining how I am in credit card debt after moving across the country he still decided to place me at his moderate fee of $ 170, not his lowest rate. Fine.
I was appalled after our second appointment when he promptly ended it mid sentence and asked me to write his check in the hallway and slide in under his door so he could carry on with his business. I thought about just walking out and boy I wish I did!
He prescribed me a new medication at that appointment which made me violently ill (fever, vomiting, etc). I quit the medication after three days and called him to say I was not coming back and to please send a bill so I could submit insurance and move past this whole experience.
It was already a pretty ugly situation but this is when it gets unprofessional and downright ILLEGAL.
I spent a month (November) calling him regularly requesting the bill. When I finally got through to him on the phone he wanted me to come back in for a closing appointment (hell no!), but he eventually agreed to send me a bill.
Now, I later learned, this bill does not include his tax id, because THIS DOCTOR IS A SCAM AND DOESN’T WANT TO REPORT HIS INCOME. I heard back from my insurance in early December that they need the id and we both have been trying to get it from him for the past month. I have called him many times and he refuses to provide it, suggesting that the insurance company assigns any random id in their system to him. What the butt!!! After trying to reach him many times as well, my insurance agents say there is nothing they can do to get him to comply so they cannot process my claim.
At this point I give up on this crazy journey of trying to get reimbursed for a miserable service I am fully insured for. All I can do is make sure it does not happen to any one else. PLEASE, unless you want to throw your money away and risk miserable side effects without warning on a new medication, DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR.
