Love the tomato soup. But you need three people working this truck, not two. Unreal how slow it is.

Pretty unimpressed. I went to this truck at the Alameda flea market… I ordered a salad and had to wait 30 minutes for it to be ready. I watched several customers in front of me receive orders that were missing something or otherwise incorrect. When I finally got mine, he casually told me that they didn’t have 2 of the main ingredients or the proper dressing for the salad I wanted. He didn’t really seem to care that it left me basically with lettuce and blue cheese… For almost $ 10! Not the best customer service, or food, from my experience.

I mainly worked with Tommy Taylor(and then Jose) to settle the menu for catering our wedding. Tommy was so nice and responsive. He went back and forth with us for about 45 minutes discussing ingredients and the pros and con’s of each soup. In the end, our choices were a huge hit! We even had guests attempting to imitate the soups when they got home. I’d book them again in a heart beat! So good!

I go to the truck that travels down to the peninsula for lunch. I literally go for the caesar salad dressing — it is by far the best caesar dressing I have ever had. It’s lemony, and tangy(Worcester), and parmesan-y. I usually get it without chicken or at least«light chicken» because the chicken is kinda bland(not weird, just bland) and I don’t care for it. Only problem is the salads never have enough lettuce in them. just fill the box up! lol. I also really like the hummus wrap, the split pea soup, the corn chowder and the chicken noodle soup. They always have specials and interesting soup options along with their regular menu. Honestly, if they ever stop coming down here for lunch I will be very sad. In fact, there was a month when they didn’t come and I didn’t know what to do with myself! I would buy a bottle of their dressing if they sold it. In fact. SFsoupco can you please start selling the dressing in a bottle?! Pleeeeeease.

They are in RWC every Thursdays so my co-worker convinced me to go check it out. I’m currently enjoying the organic southwestern corn chower which is delish! Bet the egg salad sandwich will be too! I’m saving the oatmeal cookie for tomorrow morning to go with my coffee ;) I payed $ 10.69 for lunch. Can we say WINNER!!! lol Can’t wait to try the organic smoky split pea, organic tomoto bisque, Grandma Mary’s chicken soup, turkey chili, and New England clam chower(w bacon). I’m sure the salads are great but they had me at soups…

I’ve had their Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad. If I recall correctly, it was about $ 9.95, it’s gin-nourmous and very easily three meals! It was fairly good, and hand-TOSSED, which you rarely see nowadays. The entire salad was well coated in their vinaigrette. They pack all of the ingredients pretty proportionately, which include romaine, chicken, egg, bacon, blue cheese, and tomatoes. oooooh, and avocado! I ask for extra, and they give me an entire HALF extra of an avocado. On the other hand — There’s no rocket science, all the ingredients are fresh, though for lunch, and since it’s coming from a food truck, the price point is too high, and is similar to the price of an entrée salad at a restaurant. If I had gotten this from a restaurant, though, I could justify the price a little bit more since you’re paying for the service.

Yesterday the soup OTD was Chicken Tikka Masala and I was a bit skeptical. But the soup was true to taste and very respectable for a dish that is normally served over rice. Add a ½ a meaty Turkey Pesto sandwich served on thick Focaccia slices for only $ 2.49 and you have a really decent meal. The lines are getting longer with the increased popularity for this location(San Mateo) but the service is still pretty quick for a two person operation.

Soup makes almost any ailment(emotional, physical, mental) feel better. Since I love soup more than almost anyone I know and I saw this truck was within easy walking distance of me today, I headed over for some lunch. Brrr! The cold winds made the soup that much more rewarding. The owner was quite nice; while I was looking over the menu, he offered to let me try some, so I asked for the Mexican Chicken Tortilla Soup. Mmm– it was the thick, tomato-based kind, with nice chunks of white meat. I asked how he serves it and it is usually topped with tortilla chips, cheese, and cilantro, per the usual. But I decided to get the day’s soup special– Chicken Tikka Masala, small, with a Caesar side salad. All the soups come with a hunk of sourdough bread, but the guy must have liked me so I got an extra chunk. Yay! I have a love affair with sourdough and, well, I am in San Francisco. When I dove into the soup, I found lots of chunks of chicken, peas, onions, and potatoes, with that yummy Tikka Masala flavor. The«small» seems tiny, but with that delicious, chewy bread, I was full enough that I put the salad in the fridge(as yummy as it looked). I would happily eat here again, and the other soups definitely sounded enticing.

The SF Soup Company has jumped onto the mobile eats fray. They’ve got a soup mobile that is taking liquid sustenance to the streets. Had a steakhouse chili while the co-worker got the clam chowder. They have three sizes and give you some bread with the serving. Chili was solid and they pack in a lot of ingredients. Solid taste, not mind blowing, but good for a quick meal. Same quality as their brick and mortars but the opportunity to eat outside is nice.3.5 stars
