We went into the side bar for a drink. My wife and I are on an anniversary trip into the city. We went in sat down and waited and waited and waited. Finally we felt we sat long enough and got up to leave. We were ignored the entire time and when we left the bartender just stared at us, not a word or smile, nothing.

Terrible over priced drinks. Bartender didn’t know how to make an aviation, which is fine, just don’t put it on your menu then.

This is a very chill bar, A good place to meet someone to catch up or if you just want to be alone and gather your thoughts. Drinks are okay and service is pretty good. I must forewarn of their Karoke, later in the evening, which is dreadful but hilarious.

Been here twice and there is a tall skinny bartender, probably in his late forties, who I’m sure a prior review is referring to. He was rude and seemed like it was a chore to take orders. Most frustrating was getting him to actually take notice of someone trying to order a drink. I’m going to avoid this place solely because of him.

This is my neighborhood watering hole. The owner, Connor, is a cool dude, and I am happy he is making it a go with this bar — much better than Dirty Trix, the prior establishment. You can always count on the Side Bar for a friendly environment, good music(bit loud sometimes), and great bartenders. Why not 5 stars? Because at times it gets croweded and there is still only one bartender, makes it hard to order drinks — last saturday we started ordering two per person it was taking so long(the Connor arrived and things sped up). When not too crowded, music a little lower will allow for an afterwork decompressing drink while talking to one’s Boo on the phone without yelling ;)

Although I rarely get to San Francisco these days, I love to see places still that exist from my student days in the late 1970’s. Not that Side Bar was around then, but the Holy City Zoo certainly was. Folks don’t realize what a ground-breaking comedy club it was despite it’s small size, Check out the Holy City Zoo’s Wikipedia page for a full listing of the comedy stars who once took the stage here. While the Side Bar is a totally different club than the HCZ, one thing remains — the great vibe thanks to the owners and staff.

The definitive local bar. Craft drinks. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to spend my Wednesday night. Friendly locals, excellent staff, great value on drinks. This is what San Francisco is all about in my book. Try the Pasco sour, or anything on happy hour. Don Julio 1942! Talk to the person next to your, and learn the lay of the land. So many great places in this area! Irish Spanish coffee! I will be back for you

Wow — What a weird experience! Arrived with a few girlfriends earlier in the day at 6:30pm, and had a really nice bartender –Friendly, professional… drinks were great(Elderflower Pisco + Cucumber Smash). Then we headed out for dinner nearby. This is where everything turned awry — We came back to the bar at 11:00pm and there was another bartender(white guy with tattoos) with major attitude — Ordering drinks from him made us all feel like we were just bothering him. Well, our Gin Gimlet arrived with a terrible peppermint aftertaste… wait…Gin Gimlet(Simple sirup + Lime juice+ Gin & maybe a basil garnish usually?) It was terrible. We complained and the bartender told us that peppermint is added to their simple syrup… ok…never heard of it… He then asked us with attitude _“what do you want?” With no hesitation, I asked for a gimlet with no simple syrup to avoid that terrible peppermint taste that had no place on a Gimlet cocktail. Wow, my new drink was delivered and literally smelled like BO! What happened? I literally passed my glass around the bar and had every single person smell it — It was pungent!!! In conclusion, terrible late night bartender, terrible service, horrible drinks… NOTHANKS!

Awesome little bar in Richmond, with an awesome old fashioned drink menu. Taking off a star because I had to order 3 drinks before the bartender was able to make it. His bar staff left him without a lot of the main ingredients needed to make some of the cool drinks on their menu.

Favorite bar in the Richmond. Music could be loud sometime, when there is the karaōke on, but the bartenders are cool, the cocktail well made/charged and there is not the student crowd that you may found on geary… Perfect bar to have a drink after a long day at work.

This bar is by far my favorite in the Inner Richmond — I try to always stop by on Thursday’s as they have the most fun, low key, high tech(mics without cords) Karaōke night around. The DJ is super chill and you won’t have to wait literally hours for your turn as the bar is filled with a lot of patrons who are just there to see the show. The crowd is always the best — willing to jump in on songs including singing and dancing. The bartenders are also very quick and pleasant as well.

Don’t come here unless you like awesome drinks and good times. I miss this place every day that I’m in Los Angeles, as a new transplant from the Inner Richmond. Connor’s Irish Coffee is the best I’ve ever had. Watching him make it is an entertaining show in itself.

I was walking by(very) late night on a Monday. Disco was playing loud and proud. I just had to walk in. I had a drink at the bar. It was great, the bartender was great, customers very friendly. Overall I’m so glad that I stopped in my neighborhood bar. I recommend this bar to all. Thanks so much xoxo

The owner has recently added a new upgrade that the old Dirty Trix was sorely missing… Ceiling fans!!! Totally makes a difference when the weather is hot. Good job!
