Slide

Came here on a Saturday night and was under the impression this was more of a bar not club… however they ended up charging two guys that we were with $ 15 for cover! Which is absolutely RIDICULOUS considering it was EMPTY when we came in and had 5 girls with us…
It felt more pretentious than it needed to be for SF and especially wth a club like Ruby Skye next door. They should just let people in, get the place packed and let me people have a good time and get drinks at the bar…
Music was good, love that they played hip hop, but probably wouldn’t come back simply because that cover is ridiculous and the club was empty…
PS. The slide hurts!!! Can’t wear heels and no dresses.
And THE WORST PART — it’s soooooooooooo beyond hot in here!!! Sweated all my hair out!

Such a great place!!! The atmosphere was on point, the DJ’s were great, played and awesome mix of dance songs.
I recommend table service with booth reservation. It gets PACKED and it’s nice having your own reserved section.
China our waitress, was amazing.

An ok place. Only paid $ 10 to get in. Music was hop hop, old school and it was alright great location.

Cool place I have never been to. Parking is soooo hard because it is near Union Square and right next to Ruby Skye. I wanted to check out the slide but it is true what they say. You cant wear a skirt or dress if you want to slide down so you have to walk down the stairs. That night, women were free before 12am but I guestlisted me and others just in case. They have an area for coat check but not sure if you have to pay. As far as music, it was mostly hip hop and they played some of my jams but some hip hop songs werent from the radio so I derped a bit. They mixed with some edm for a few songs but then went back to hip hop. This is definitely not my favorite music out there so not sure if I would go back. The crowd is mixed– race and ages.

I went there during Christmas break and an amazing time with my group of friends! We had a reservation for bottle and we loved our server Cameron. The service was great and the whole staff were very friendly.
The music was fun and energetic, and kept us dancing all night long. I will definitely be returning soon.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I can not stress how disappointed I am with this place, and if I could I would give them 0 stars. Came here around 11pm on a Saturday night after hearing about the cool slide. After passing through the rude security, I was glad to finally get in. I turned around to see that my friend was having issues with the guard. I come down and he starts telling me that my friend can’t come in because he has an international ID and they can’t accept that as entry. Are you kidding me? For years this has never been a problem in clubs all over the country, and at this little hole the security isn’t letting him in! And the worst part, he didn’t even want to give him a refund! What a joke, luckily he gave them the money back, and my friend unfortunately went home. I decided to go down to see whats going on, and the slide was closed!!! That is the only reason I even thought of going to this place. I then come down, and see a near empty completely run down club (if I can call it that). My friends and I decided to stay for a little, took a picture with the Slide, and bounced out of there. Never ever will I be back here, and I recommend you don’t waste your time, energy, and nerves here either.

Few years ago slide use to be a nice club. Came back last week for my sisters birthday & was very disappointed… First of all there is no dress code so there not strict at all. My sister had bottle service and as soon as her husband paid for it the cocktail server stopped coming around. She came around prob only once but still we paid for full service. Anyway, few of us were taking shots when I noticed the security guard came and sat at our table while she was on her shift and my friends phone disappeared. So I’m pretty sure the security took it. I talked to the main security guy and told him to look at the cameras to see if she took it or not and he said they have no cameras at this club. Wth really!!! Wow!!! This place is so cheap and not worth your time… never again!

No dress code, $ 20 cover, $ 14 for a vodka and sprite which was actually 95% soda and 5% vodka. A slide that’s never open for people to slide down, and no temperature control. I was surprised to see people in there with just hoodies and street clothes on. I thought a good club has a «dress to impress» rule. I expected better from a club located in San Francisco. or should I have known it would be like this? Drinks cost too much for how watered down they are. It was extremely hot in there, management needs to work on some type of ventilation. Its already bad enough when they get packed during peak hours but when you start dancing and your body warms up you feel even hotter. Almost everyone I saw on the dance floor was dripping in sweat. The DJ was good and played good music so that made up for the other things just a little bit. I’ll probably try another joint next time.

It was empty for a saturday night, really empty. I was visiting San Francisco and we were trying to get in to ruby sky, but there was some event there so their entry was crazy high, we decided to go to this one and it was completely empty

Awesome staff hear at Slide! Chris and Cameron are great! Would recommend over bars in the area. Good crowd and music

Been here 3 times in the last couple years:
1. Always empty, no matter which night/​time you go. I was there on a Saturday from 11:30−1 or so, and the dance floor had like 6 people on it. Why are you charging $ 10-​$ 15 cover (for both guys and girls), for a dead environment?
2. Bartender could have been a little nicer… especially since we were the only ones at the bar.
This isn’t affecting the rating, just a note: You can’t go down the slide if you’re wearing a skirt/​dress OR heels… We wore pants and had small wedges on, and still got rejected for the slide. Apparently you can’t slide down barefoot either… ugh.

Had pretty bad night here. Bar was ok. Waitress was bad and door men were horrible. The owner should know ur door men will likely ruin ur business until u realize to change them. A little respect would go a long way. Not every customer should be treated like a «thug».

We had an awesome night at Slide, the slide it self was fun, line wasn’t long at all 10 $ cover charge which is really good, drinks are not pricey too, hip hop music not too crowed. We had a good night after all and we will back

This place was ok. they have a cool brass slide in the entry area. i felt like they had ample seating. parking sucks cuz its all
floor was ok. not a bad experience at all. worth checking out

Um no! This basement of a club is no bueno. The slide is a cool idea though. The music was very loud and did not sound good. Very small inside, bartenders were rude and the bathroom was so gross. The crowd was kinda mixed but mostly those in their late 30’s and up. The manager or owner let us in for free because we were having issues with atm machines around sf (stupid atm). Grateful for his niceness! Music is ok… 90’s-00’s hip hop/​dance.

Ok… what’s the point of having a slide if you’re not allowed to go on it? If you’re wearing a skirt, shorts or dress, they won’t let you slide down. Almost defeats the purpose of the name of this club.
Other than that, bottle service is super cheap, dance floor is pretty small, but it’s never super crowded and they play some top 40s and random songs. A minor thing that bothers me is that they repeat some songs towards the end of the night.
Other than that, it was fun hanging out and dancing for the night.

Place sucks. I work 7 days a week. Two jobs. I rarely ever make it out to the city, and when I do I usually go to my favorite clubs (Cellar, Infusion), but my friend was hosting/​DJing here so I came out to support. We took a party bus, drank, got there, waited in line. I have a loud laugh… abnormally loud, but it’s never been an issue. The group and I were all laughing and talking in line. I accidentally pushed my guy friend in front of me and we all hella laughed. Before that, someone mentioned something about smoking a cigarette and I overheard the bouncer (biter asshole with an attitude) say you can’t smoke here or something like that. Minutes passed and I lit a cigarette, haha, got told to smoke elsewhere or put it out. I did so. We finally get to the bouncer, he lets us all in, except for me. He told me no, I am too drunk. Ummmm screw you, I had a couple sips of a mixed drink and a beer. All of us had already paid for cover, so I was not taking «no» for an answer. My friends keep it real, a few didn’t even drink, and told me I was NOT drunk. I came out with the main DJ, I was not leaving. So multiple friends of mine, a promoter, and myself spoke with the bouncer, then management. They were all very rude and un-​welcoming. After begging and pleading, they said I can COME BACK in 2 HOURS. So I said fine. Me and a couple of my friends went to go eat, came the f*ck back and went in, got wasted and enjoyed my LAST night at Slide. I will never recommend this place. If you’re gonna work at a night club, I get it, you deal with drunk idiots every night, but to the patrons who were nothing but polite and understanding, CHILL. As I’m reading other reviews I am seeing other comments about the management and employees. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time or money coming here. The venue isn’t even that attractive. It just has a slide. Not very nice inside though. Ok, well I’m done, hope this helps! :)

The worst. Not sure if they are congruent with ruby Skye, but the bouncers were very aggressive despite us wanting to be cooperative.

This place used to be my favorite place to go. The music is great and it is always super fun.
Then I went here for my birthday and this place got put way down on my list. Although I still had a great time (it was my birthday after all) I got really upset when the stupid woman running the slide wouldn’t let me and my friends go down it. She was like «you have to wear pants in order to go down the slide». So all the guys in my group got to go down but the girls didn’t because guess what, we are wearing dresses, because guess what, that is what most girls are going to wear to a club! The name of your club is called «Slide» why are you going to name it that if only half the population that shows up can actually go down the slide.
The guys said I wash’t missing much the slide wasn’t even that fun. But it is the principle. In my drunken and entitled state that I was in I am surprised that I held it together and didn’t cuss her ass out. Especially because she was being ridiculously rude to me.
Also their drinks are extremely overpriced! I know it is san francisco but come on.

I’ve only been to Slide a handful of times, but each time the slide has been closed!!! Are there operating hours for that thing? I like the space and the music is on point (EDM). It’s usually been the spot to go to after we’re well through the night, so it hasn’t been super crowded, but I prefer it that way. Don’t miss it, it’s located right next to Ruby Skye.

Great little hidden gem!
We were visiting San Francisco and almost walked right by the place. The bouncer asked us if we wanted to go in and we didn’t have plans so we said sure. We didn’t pay any cover so we figured there was nothing to lose. I had no idea what to expect. Happy we checked it out.
We literally slid into the club. Best entrance ever! It was a Friday night and they were surprisingly slow. We stayed for just a little as it was a small club with a small dance floor. Overall cute little place but I wouldn’t spend my whole night here.

We came here for a friends going away party on a Friday and this place is lame!
— At 10pm the place was empty & I could understand that it’s still early.
— At 11pm the place was still empty… ok…maybe party doesn’t start till 12.
— At 12AM the dance floor was probably occupied by 15 people and you know why?! It’s because the DJ was pretty bad that night. They probably played like 5 good songs. I asked one of the workers about the music and she said she can’t stand the music playing here.

I’ve only been to Slide once and that was three weeks ago for the Omnia show. I had heard low opinions of Slide but I have to say– my expectations were pleasantly exceeded. The venue was in a basement so it had an underground warehouse feel to it. The crowd was small, intimate, and completely in tune with the music. The sound system was awesome and the light show was phenomenal. It allowed Omnia to capture everybody’s emotions and control the crowd as one. Great show, great artist, great venue.
The actual slide wasn’t open when I went but I’ll be back someday and hopefully will get to ride that slide.

Came for an EDM event and was surprised by how small the club was. Cover charge was low, and the dance floor is rather small, right next to the bar. Feels like a poor alternative to Ruby Skye which is just next door.
The only upside is that you get to be much closer to the DJ, almost arm’s length away. Lighting and sound is meh. No lazers or anything. There’s a giant slide, but we didnt see anyone use it. Ventilation is pretty bad too.
Would not recommend.

Had never been here before… Ended up winning free bottle service. Rounded up a few friends & drove out to SF. Glad we did! We had so much fun. The music was on point, the service was great… Good vibes all around! Love that you can come & go, as long as your hand is stamped to get entry back into the establishment & you don’t have to wait in line again. Will definitely check out Slide again!

My experience at Slide was lots of fun. Ilan Bluestone performed that night. I don’t think the security or the bartenders are as friendly as their neighbors but that didn’t mean they didn’t do a great job of keeping things in order so that everyone could have a good time. The bathrooms aren’t maintained so by the end of the night, each stall transforms into a mountain of unused toilet paper.
There’s also no ventilation! Even in the front row, I was sweating bullets and there was no air. It felt more like a hot spa day than a club.
You have to ask to go on the slide. It looks like it’s closed off but it’s not. And be warned – it hurts! I scrapped off my skin and sort of tumbled down the slide. I heard a faint laugh from the lady who was chaperoning the slide at the top of the stairs. Apparently, she thought my tumbling down the slide was funny :(.

i really want to love or hate this place. i’m really in between. it’s a poser club. it thinks it’s a hot NYC or LA chic place. It has a cool ascetic, but who are they fooling? I don’t know if it is the promoters or the crowd it attracts, but the crowd is blah. the drinks are expensive. i have never been a victim of the girl guy ratio entrance requirements. i’ve heard of it and it sounds super sucky. on the plus side, the music has always been really good mixture of hip hop, pop, rock, and electronica.
