Was walking around looking for a place to eat with family and guests from NY. Walked into this place because it looked“authentic”. Suffice to say that two of us found cockroaches in our plate. I mean inside the food we were eating.

Excellent food in a very small unpretentious restaurant. The BBQ pork won ton soup is packed full of delicious won tons, BBQ roasted pork, and bok choy. Also had the ribs(amazing riblets) and beef chow fun with peppers and black beans. Delicious. The service was very good too. I will be going back here next time I am in the city.

We ordered shrimp fried rice, scallops with veggies, Mongolian beef, and cashew chicken. There wasn’t anything left when we finished eating. It was very good!

This place gets a 5 star because of how damn good the food is, the décor is mediocre, service is decent, but oh my days, this food is unbelievable, order the chicken fried rice and sesame chicken and share them both with someone, you will not be disappointed

Went here when my in-laws were visiting. Good service, great food. I had the sesame chicken with rice, and it was delicious!

Food is not fresh, my mongolian beef was every color of the rainbow, I know its not poisonous to eat beef that is that color, but how unappetizing. As for the dish itself, very bland and just did not taste like a proper meal prepared by a chef. I could do better in my kitchen with a mongolian beef sauce packet and some ingredients. I also love how they have a «people love us on Unilocal» sticker posted on their window. 3 stars overall and their first page is littered with 1 star reviews, I sure hope they feel that love and make some changes. I hate restaurants that only care about making money and forget about the passion and love for delicious food that should be the driving force behind any chef and his/her restaurant. Two thumbs down for this place

Super slow service I made a complain after 30 min. Waiting for my food, the owner smiled at me and said i have only one staff in the kitchen. I don’t want to hear that as a customer. The fact that he smiles and think now that he has only one staff in his filthy kitchen, his slow service is excuse, is unbelievable.

Great food, great atmosphere, quick and easy to order! The lemon chicken stuff, was AMAZING! And unlike other places it was sweet, which was a pleasant surprise! It is easy to order and for you to understand them, which is nice in china town.

How many more Chinatown disasters do we need! This is out of control! The food tastes like a good day! I wouldn’t recommend this place. All their food is either undercooked or not cooked at all. Better take it home and cook it yourself! If you want something done right! Also this is only cash because they need money for the strip club.

This place was not good. I guess my friend & I decided on the wrong Chinese restaurant tonight. We were the only customers there and I didn’t realize they were closing soon. Had they let us know they were gonna close soon we would’ve have gone somewhere else, no problem. Of course, money is money. We ordered the chicken in black bean sauce and chicken chow mein. Our meal was prepared quickly and the chicken was so undercooked. All white and tasteless. We both love black bean sauce and I guess they couldn’t bother to make that taste good. Then they were watching to see when I’d pay the bill. They just really wanted us out and so undercooked our meal. To top it all off, it was cash only. They need to have a bigger sign on the window that says«cash only». Better communication would help this place, I don’t like being that last customer cos I know how irritating is, I wouldn’t have mind if they told us «we’re closing soon.» TL; DR?: Poor customer service and not so good food.

The food portions are fairly large which is nice because each dish is about $ 10 or more! The experience is a little awkward… they seat you and then take forever to take your order. Then they forgot one of our sodas and we kept having to remind them to bring it to us. Anyways, it’s worth a try but after spending over 50 bucks for 3 people I probably won’t be back.

Pork fried rice was good, as the chow mein, over the years the price kept creeping up, seems Tony tips himself 15% even on take out. Can some one recommend a place that has good pork fried rive and chow main in he south bay or San Fran? Please. Oh yea Tony says he does not know why they switched to ca$h only. I think it’s because of the new chips embedded in credit cards.

My fiancé and I did not enjoy the food at all. The chicken and salted fish fried rice was undercooked and by salted they mean fermented. The ingredients in their beef noodle soup did not seem fresh. It’s a little pricey for the quality of food you get. The only bright side was the friendly waiter, he was quick and attentive. If you are looking for a meal in Chinatown, don’t go here. The prices, ingredient quality, and tea are all wrong. They earned a two instead of a one because of their service, whom were very attentive, not their food, which I thought was poor.

Came back to this place after enjoying my visit three years ago. I was disappointed this time. I remembered the vegetable fried rice as the best I’d ever had. It wasn’t. Tea is served to everyone, which I appreciated. I ordered the vegetarian combination. Although everything looked good, it didn’t taste good. I thought my food overly greasy, and didn’t stand out in any way. The vegetables seemed canned or frozen. Lunch for two amounted to $ 30, and it just doesn’t seem worth it. I would not go back.

Quick service. Lousy food. If you’re expecting authentic Chinese look elsewhere. A greasy plate of bland rice noodles and chicken is what I attempted to eat. Wife ate vegetable dish. Veggies looked like they were frozen or canned. The wife insisted on revisiting this place as she has been here before. I may be picky but I could tell by the generic menu and dirty shabby establishment it was a loss. Oh well gotta keep her happy! Walked out paying over $ 30 for lunch and 1 beer. Won’t visit again.

Perfect example of a whole in the wall! Just walking around exploring China Town and was craving soup but many places were closed. The server was very polite and attentive. I ordered the shrimp ball wonton soup. It was delicious and hit the spot!

Hidden gem. I walked in randomly and the food was so authentic that I feel like I’m in China! Service is great too.

Another reviewer said this is what happens when you’re hungry and desperate and that sums it up perfectly. The Scene: American Chinese food and kitsch«classic» décor. The cook has a radio blasting in Chinese in the kitchen. The whole place feels dated and tired. The walls are covered in mirrored panels to make this narrow space seem larger. Our waiter was an older man who was polite but also seemed sleepy. I didn’t venture into the restroom so I can’t comment on that. The Meal: We tried the General’s Chicken and a mixed-seafood/veggie dish, steamed white rice, and BBQ pork fried rice. Nothing tasted fresh. Nothing was above room temperature. Everything was below average even for an «Americanized» Chinese food standard. Mixed seafood/veggie had mostly rubbery, dry, flavorless squid, more peas than any other veg, and watery«sauce». The General’s Chicken dish was much too sweet, chicken was dry and over breaded, too salty and just not good. The Price/Payment: Prices are too high for the serving size and the low quality of the food. As others have mentioned, it was disturbing that the waiter took our credit card and walked out front. We assume they process cards at a nearby shop but we’ll be keeping an eye on our Visa statement in case of «unauthorized activity». Very disappointing experience since we know that San Francisco is a foodie town, and there surely must be good, authentic Chinese food elsewhere. Would not recommend or return to Snow Garden.

:bref tu m’as compris, j’ai regretté. Ah au fait ils avaient un sticker«on nous aime sur Unilocal» pfff non on t’aime pas. —– I wrote in French but i have to warn you guys. Snow Garden restaurant is a place where correct food doesn’t exist. If you want to test the limits of your digestiv system go ahead. Otherwise run. As far as possible from that garbage food restaurant. I took the minced beef with rice. And it taste like SH… Well i’m pretty sure you got it.

Went here for lunch yesterday with two adults and four kids. Service was incredibly slow and unpredictable. But worse, the food was horrible. Talk about a gut bomb. My stomach still hurts the next day! The fried wontons were soggy, there was more bean sprouts than noddles in the chow mien. The beef in the broccoli beef was thin, chewy and sparse. The fried rice was very wet. It was all just not good. Our kids left hungry and unsatisfied which sucks because my kids love Chinese food. On top of the slow service and bad food, the bill was super high. So overpriced, bad food. Blah. Oh well. On to a different China Town restaurant.

Literately the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The waiter is this sweet older Chinese man. I had the orange chicken and steamed rice and my fiancé had the chicken dumplings which he loved warning — once you eat here no other Chinese food place will taste the same
